- On my recent NCL Prima cruise I was able to experience a new cruise food innovation. Indulge Food Hall used technology to deliver a quick and delish cruise food experience. In this video, I provide a walk though of the experience so you know what to expect!

I’m loving this concept. No long lines. No kids and adults doing nasty things at the buffet. No rude people cutting the line in a buffet And possibly.. lower food waste . Yeah I’m loving this ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
1,000 times better than a buffet with kids and adults putting food back after they handled it.Our last RCCL cruise,we refused to eat at the buffet.
I love the Indulge concept. It’s like a fancy food cart court.
I'm a single mom that wants to cruise, and I think this kind of dinning would help out cruisers like me. I can order from the table while keeping my child out of trouble or keep them occupied and we still have basically buffet selection
Use to be very simple kids had a separate dining room they did not dine with adults.

Personally, I love that idea. I think it would cut down on waste and the folks who aren't quite so careful when they are selecting things from a buffet.
I think this is pretty awesome. We are booked on the Prima in December. As far as game changers go, I still think the Medallion on princess is more of a game changer. You can order food and drinks pretty much anywhere and it’s delivered to you. No paper receipts to sign, can order drinks/snacks while playing trivia, on deck, in your room. Can order from specialty restaurants.
That system of ordering/delivering food seems perfect to me! Love the way you can view the dish before ordering and….NO LINES! :-)
That was very impressive. Not only from how quickly the food arrived but also the great variety of choices. This will cut down on food waste and is a much needed improvement on cleanliness found around buffets
I just returned from a cruise on the Prima. I loved the food options! It was so much easier to pick food and eat whatever I wanted. I loved the menus and it felt like I was going out to dinner every night…the specialty restaurants were amazing!
The Indulge is THE real deal! We loved it when we were on board the Prima in February! And you're right, the time from order to food arriving at the table is incredible!! Only little caveat(but only one), if you sit at one of the food stations the tablet will only have selections for THAT station..You can also get soda for free here as well, no need for a beverage package, just ask your server and they will bring you a cup with your soda from the fountain..We especially loved the lamb, it was PERFECT! Also, during hours Indulge is closed(between lunch and dinner) Coco's will often have cookies available for free..
Apparently it's pretty common for servers to not bother to ring up sodas. That's probably why you weren't charged rather than an official policy.
Was on the Prima in February, loved the Indulge Food Hall. Quick delivery of food and delicious. Great concept.
Oh wow… I think NCL's cutting edge food service in the buffet is awesome… And I wish every cruise line would do exactly that… Would love to experience it myself… I've never been on NCL... thanks so much for this video. I really enjoyed it.!!
We’re on the Prima in 52 days and everything points to this being our new favorite ship. Indulge seems like perfect answer when you’re married to someone who does not eat Indian food, but you love it! I think this concept is phenomenal!
Tge prima is great as long as youMake your dinner reservation now. I highly suggest the hudsons. It's an included restaurant sit down dinner served elegantly. Most are dressed up if thats your kind of thing. I made seven reservations five to hudsons one to cagneys, one to uh I can't remember at this minute, dinner buffets are not my thing while I'm on vacation. Dinner at 6 then I didn't have to worry missing the night life, or being late coming back from an island. Also went to the indulge for lunch on sea days, but it was difficult to find a seat.
If my husband and I can get free Indian food on demand, we'll never leave the restaurant. We'll just sit there and eat for five days straight. XD
I like this idea. Much easier than lining up at buffet counters to get food. Safer in terms of hygiene too.

I really enjoyed the Indulge Food Hall... I also liked that the portions were on the small side so you could choose to order a variety of items or multiple of your favorites. It was very quick every time I was there - would love to see it on more ships!
I love it!! Creative, lots of options without carrying your tray all over the room, and quick service!!!
What I would love..no bumping n grinding..cut in line folks in the buffet area and tight walking holding 4 plates plus a water cup or two to find an open table in the traditional buffet.

The Q Beef brisket and deviled eggs were my favorite. This is a definite winner of cruise eating places
We were on the Prima for 11 days in November. Indulge Food Hall was by far our favorite place to eat! The food was so good, fast, fresh, and super tasty. The Indian food was SO GOOD!

Love the place, the food and the unlimited amount of things you can try. The only drawback is having to get your own place to sit, when we went it took close to 20 minutes and countless trips walking around the hall to finally find a table.

Hey Tony, was great seeing you and Jenny on Prima last week. Finally got to meet you both. Hope you enjoyed your week as much as we did.
I enjoyed it. Discovered bacon wrapped dates with blue cheese - totally awesome. Had that at lunch several times during the week I was on the Prima. Everything I ordered was very good and delivered quickly. I ate there alone as my friends aren't adventurous. Had no problem finding a seat for one - just asked people if they would mind if I sat there & all said no problem!

What a great idea. Sometimes it's just nice to be able to get a quick meal, but this is nicer than buffet food for sure!

Indulge was my favorite part of Prima! Loved it! Food was great and so fast! I ate there for lunch and dinner multiple times.

Really enjoyed the food at Indulge. I still think Virgin has the best “included” food at sea, but this was the quickest, tastiest options on the Prima for sure.

Tony, I like this concept very much. You can sit down, relax, and order your food. No lines or hassles waiting In buffet lines. And no one touches the food and then puts it back!!
Too many people handling food on our last RCCL cruise,picking up bread and putting it back
This concept is one we'd like!!! No trying to maneuver around crowds with a plate of food. Thumbs up!

Unless things have changed since October... If you sit at the counter of any of those units.. ie Tamara, Nudulz (sp), The Garden.. You can only choose from those restaurants. Just be advised if you really wanted The Q but you sit at The Garden.. LOVE Indulge Food Hall. 🙂
Wow been cruising since 1972 and i love this innovation. I say it would enhance my cruise experience. I don’t have to weave my way through a buffet line and I don’t have to go sit some place more formal. Is a quick get and the food looks good🚢😊
This makes me want to try NCL even more now!
You were lucky you managed to eat at Indulge... sailing the Prima in January (ship was at 110%) getting a table was near impossible from opening to closing... on our 7 days cruise I managed to sit down once (not for lack of trying! Even The Local had an average 45 min to an hour wait). The one time we managed to sit at Indulge (2pm after a nearly 1 hour prowl) the food was indeed delicious.
I love this. Hopefully other cruise lines adopt this.

It's an interesting concept. I can see a lot of positives for it. One of the biggest is what happened recently on that one ship where that stomach flu got around and so many people got sick. Another is of course how crazy it is trying to get food in the crowded buffets and such. I'm 6.5 and I've been almost knocked down a couple times from a few people trying to get to the food. And more. The one major downside I see to this is that that's a lot more work for the crew if you think about it with already the hard work they do already.
That’s a pretty cool dining concept. That’s the first time I’ve seen something like this on a cruise ship.

Sooooo yummy! Everyday I had the Thai noodles, I was addicted.
I just got off a 14 day cruise on the NCL Dawn. The cuts everywhere including food quality and quantity is bad. We are Ambassadors so have been on many dozens of cruises with NCL. The Prima is their newest ship so the cuts are probably being spared right now. They are coming. Sail on an older NCL ship and you will be shocked. We are strongly considering changing cruise lines the cuts are so bad.
Carnival's quality has suffered. They also didn't have as much fish and shrimp as they had pre-covid. We understand everybody has been hit terribly with shrinkflation.
The business model that recoups COVID losses by increasing cruise costs and lowering food quality and amenities has made me fearful of choosing a cruise line. These comments and reactions are helpful.

Went for dinner once, but had breakfast there six days! Easy to walk around and pick up different items. So less crowded than the buffet. Loved all the outside seating. Indulge is a beautiful place!
Hey hey hey Tony! I was on this same cruise! I passed by Improv at the Sea and heard your voice during your private event! But never go the chance to bump into you. Indulge Food Hall has to be one of the highlights on the PRIMA. We ate there many times when we didn’t want to eat at the MDR since the menu stays the same.

I love it!! I wish every cruise ship offered this option. I can see where they could also add specialty restaurant items that you could try a la carte for a charge, but not have to pay a larger cover charge to eat an entire meal in the specialty restaurant. My husband uses a rollator walker now, so this would be such a help to him and others with mobility issues. ❤
Indulge was our favorite spot to eat when we were on Prima last fall (and that includes trying 4 different specialty restaurants, which were also excellent). SOOO cool and the food is FANTASTIC!! It really does seem like you get the best of both worlds with the selection of a buffet, but freshly prepped and plated food that is brought to your table. Also, the bars at the back of the ship have the best beer selection on Prima. Only downside is that they both close relatively early.
If you don't mind my asking, what time did Indulge close?
@Sue H - unfortunately, rather early. Seems like around 9 pm. That really was the only downside to Indulge since we tend to eat kinda late left to our own devices.
Thank you for your answer and I agree, closing around 9 pm would be problematic for us also. We would have to make adjustments to whatever plans we make.
It was a fantastic experience. I loved it. Can’t think of any improvements needed. A+ Norwegian!

Wow I LOVE the concept!! Never been on an NCL cruise but that certainly looks like a great selling point. This may sound crazy but it kind of reminds me of one of my favorite things as a kid in NY. The Horn and Hardart automat.

I loved Indulge Food Hall. It was nice not having to fight for a spot in the buffet line.
