I just traded my Highlander in for the Solterra a few weeks back, and I thought I'd be losing you as my guru for all things related to my car, but here you are after all! What a pleasant surprise. :) Your videos are truly the best! I really loved my Highlander but was tired of the high monthly payment, of having no warranty, and of all the expensive work it was due for as it crept close to 60k miles. It was becoming a money pit! There are obviously some big differences between the two, but the Solterra was the first car (that would cost me a good amount less than what I was paying before - both monthly pmt and fuel-wise) that I felt comfortable enough trading my Highlander in for (again, loved that car and thought I'd die of sadness without it LOL). In truth, the Solterra solves a lot of the "problems" the Highlander annoyed me with, and so far I'm super pleased with it! Yes, it has its own annoyances, but Subaru is awesome with their "Love Subaru" program, and at my appointment today they helped me out with some of the struggles I was having, and now I'm even more excited to drive my car! The range is enough for me to get around for nearly a week, and once I'm able to begin charging from home I can't imagine not loving this baby completely.
Don't understand Your Highlander needing work.......People have driven these hundreds of thousands of miles without maintainance..........Also strange that You are able to go EV without home charging...............Paul
@paulholterhaus7084 without maintenance, or without a major repair? To prevent major repairs, you have to perform regular maintainence! This is recommended every 5k miles. Even if I were to skip the recommended spark plugs and transmission flush, I definitely was needing new tires soon, and wanted to get the trunk door that wouldn't always open and/or close fixed, which was another approx $800 to replace the struts. I know Toyotas used to be built to be driven into the ground, but not so much anymore and definitely not without regular maintenence!
Thanks I’m glad you noticed. I’ve really been trying to increase my volume on auto Jeff because I want to get to 100,000 followers and 1 million viewers a month as quickly as possible here.
I love my 2024 Solterra despite the lower range than some other EVs. I leased one a few months ago (and also got hit by a crazy driver while waiting at a red light between now and then - my car has since been repaired but it was very annoying). It has all the features I could ever want in a vehicle, and I feel very safe driving it. I've found it has plenty of range for my purposes. Just my personal opinion.
I own the 2023 Subaru solterra touring. I tried to sell it to a couple of dealerships and they give me $20,000 for it. A $54,000 vehicle That i bought last year now has a value of $20k
I actually really love this vehicle even though it gets a really bad rap due to price and what you get overall when compared to other automaker's vehicles. I am an outdoor person and I really appreciate what Subaru has done with this car. I actually own the 2023 Crosstrek PHEV and really enjoy it. I wish Subaru would contemplate bringing the PlugIn Hybrids back.
@@AutoJeffReviews I completely agree. I drive a lot in all types of weather, from harsh blizzards to torrential summer downpours and severe storms and wind. I also drive through many areas with poor infrastructure. So, at least for me, the PlugIn Hybrid option is by far the most practical and safe.
I have a Rav4 Prime and Toyota hit it out of the park with that car. Not sure if it’s great for going off road, but its the best combination of range, horsepower and efficiency of any of the PHEV SUV’s at any price.
I plan to buy One, but would much prefer more standard dash/steering/guage cluster.......Also..Sibie and many others need to get rid of the vastly oversized center console........Check out the R3 Rivian........This is how it ought to be................Paul
This vehicle is in a class of it’s own in the way it combines low range, low horsepower and price. However, I hear you can get good deals on the BZ4X so if you get it for the right price, it’s probably fine for around town. It has good ground clearance so that’s an advantage. I look to seeing what happens when Toyota really tries to make a competitive EV. I have confidence in Toyota so I know this isn’t it. Give it a bigger battery and a volume knob and get rid of that Binnacle/Squirqule combo. Oh, just make a RAV4 EV. Jeez.
I leased 1 a month ago and was disappointed at how long it takes to charge a Solterra. Just curious , I charged Amy Soletrra at 5% to 100% and it took 2 days and 3 hrs to reach maximum 100%. It has no rear window wiper and heater at the red window takes too long to clear rain drops. I wonder how it will do during winter. I wish I just leased the Toyota EV.
I doubt it will have much sales.. They can't give away the bz4× Toyota electric vehicle.. I talked to several salesman at the Toyota dealership. THEY SAID THE SALES ARE DISMAL👎😕
Who’s the first automaker that will really test the waters of their buyers stupidity by just selling them a primed car without paint and passing it off as the new cool edgy style? Absurd
Hi there! I have 2 channels: Toyotajeff that reviews Toyota and Lexus. And AutoJeff is the new one that reviews all brands - including Toyota and Lexus. Hope you enjoy them both :)

That’s so cool! I’m glad we still get to hang out

I think my favorite of all classifications is a plug-in hybrid. It seems to hit most every box.

I leased one 3 months ago. It is great for in town commuting. We have a gas car for long distances.
Does Solterra catch your eye? Also, who do you know who would want one? Thanks for watching and Subscribing! Jeff

Same car....different Day.............Paul
This is the second review i've seen and not one took the vehicle off road. Its a Subaru for goodness sake get off the highway.

Is there an email for Toyota Jeff? I had to email him a question.

Wonder what they would call that “paint color”?
@@AutoJeffReviews probably bare bones grey
Genius
Looks good to Me.......Even great..........Certainly looks not a bit like primer.............Paul
So now you are working for Subaru..have you left Toyota
