*Can we hit 3,000 LIKES for a Top 10 Best Countries to Live in the WORLD list?!* Hope you all enjoy our first international video, and if it does well, we'll do other countries as well! I honestly love Canada, as it really is a beautiful country with so much history and amazing people. Would love to make a Top 10 Best Provinces or Top 10 Best Cities to Live in Canada if you'd wanna see it :) *What is YOUR Favorite City in Canada?*
Love both those cities! Not sure if Winnipeg would make the list, but Montreal would for sure. Reminds me a lot of a "Canadian" version of my hometown, Boston
Same goes for taxes, Canada especially in the province of alberta, taxes are fairly low. Back home, they offer as much or less services as Canada but have tax rates of around 45% to 57%.
Where I'm at I can either have 8 mbps for about 60$ which is absolute garbage and barely usable with anyone else on the connection or I could pay some other bullshit company 150$ for 100 mbps. The second company I mentioned got bought recently by a much bigger competitor that wasn't in my region though so hopefully the hurry the fuck up and change those pricings. Click read more for explanation of what they mean in the video about the 500$ a month. So going back to the point of the video. Until a few years ago, the BS ISP I mentioned above had data caps, for every GB you went over the 30GB cap(unlimited from midnight to 8am) they would charge you 10$, that racks up VERY quickly which is what they mean by paying 500$ a month for crappy internet.
@@matx6666 Damn, that fucking sucks. Apparently, some companies (I think Tesla) are working on offering good satellite connections to remote places, including in Canada. I live in the city, and I pay $85 CAD/month for a 400 Mbps connection, and my speed tests show it often over performs.
I live in Canada and forgot to lock the car door and a thief broke in and stole one singular kindergarten picture and 47 cents, just that nothing else, he didn’t take the car, the wallet, or any more money just a kindergarten picture and 47 cents, he even closed the door behind him
Lived my 68 years in Canada. Married, raised a family and retired in Edmonton. I never considered car insurance, housing costs, health care waits or high tax rates as reasons to leave Canada. I sometimes feel the discomfort of our cold winters, but I also realize I don’t face the peril of volcanos, tsunamis, earthquakes, tornados and floods (seldom). Our neighbourhood is diverse, welcoming and safe. I welcome those who wish to come to Canada. Btw- our public health care system saved my life from a cardiac arrest 5 years ago. Not bad, eh?

Even going as far as Tokyo I get an average of 285-350mbps down and 30-50 mbps up, with no data cap for about 80$ CAD a month.
@@Stephen__White our internet and cell phones are notorious for being high priced globally. Only recently (last couple of yrs ) have prices began to drive down. Traditionally it's been high priced with mediocre speeds and data caps. Previously you had about 3 choices in the gta. Bell, robbers or teksavvy. You could save a bit with teksavvy. The landscape has changed a lot these days. But even now youre still looking at $85 cad/month from bell for 50down 10 up. That's not that cheap for that kind of mediocre service. But it's better than it used to be. Prices go up from there for faster service and even in the gta you cant get the best service everywhere. Only in certain spots.

@@rocket_puncher_explosions3128 Its not bad just expensive. It really depends where you are, and the price doesn't even change. I've paid the same amount for 1 Gb/s connection as 50 Mb/s connection depending on where I was as those were the highest options available.

All I hear about Canadians is how nice they are, but this whole comment section is just toxic. The guy doesn't even have over 70k subs. All this guy did was say a few critics about Canada, and now every Canadian feels obligated to say something shitty about the US. Maybe he'll make 10 reasons not to move to the US so chill.
Yep, some of those negatives seem like positives to me. Which do I prefer, a wait for elective surgery or to go bankrupt (or worse, not be able to afford it all)? I'll take door #1. Internet in rural areas stinks in the US too, and I get unlimited internet (50+ MBPS) for $50/month. It's not the best, but it's not the worst either. As he noted, car insurance costs more, but you get way more coverage than you do in the USA, so it balances out. As for the cold, as I joke with my friends, it keeps the jerks out.
It's also highly dependent on where you are. The Québec-Windsor corridor holds 66% of the whole country's population. It's still not too dense compared to many places (the Netherlands has about 400 inhabitants/km² as a country...), but it's much higher than the rest of Canada when you're outside big cities.
I immigrate to Canada 13 years ago, this country is not perfect and far from perfect to be honest! But I said to myself, I love this country and I will contribute my everything to this country till the day I die......here in Canada.
There is no Country that is perfect . We have a great Health Care system and all Immigrants are welcomed. I do believe, as Canadians, we have alot to be grateful for! I think that people become complacent, and always think things are greener somewhere else, which is not always the case. --and I used the comparison metaphorically. 🙋♀️🤘💖🤗🇨🇦
This is very strange: you do not recommend living in Canada because it is very cold there, but you consider Minnesota as one of the best state for living. Very strange.
Minnesota is seriously better. Better job opportunities, friendlier people, GREAT food, #1 Airport in North America, no sales tax on clothes... what else?
I was born and raised in Quebec and lived for many years in Montreal. I moved to the US for work about 11 years ago. Many points simply didn’t resonate with me (car insurance… come on) since there are many Canadian/US regional differences that are quite profound making it difficult to generalize. After having lived in and now citizen of both countries, I’ll be retiring in Canada eventually. Bring on the taxes!
@The Canadian Crusader Exactly! I love Canada, but it is getting really expensive to live here. I live 1.5 hours from Toronto and housing prices are going through the roof!
Canada is a great country and he spent a good amount of time showing that but he's also right with his points. I lived in the US before moving here and I love it here so much but his lost is generally correct
I was just about to reply and say the same thing. Completely uneducated and misleading information to Canada's current telecom. I live in a rural population, within Southern Ontario we were wired up with 'Fiber to the Premise' approximately 5 years ago. They are now laying another fiber line to provide us with a secondary backup link should the first fail for any reason (which it hasn't thus far). They are also laying additional fiber down the other side of the street and connecting many more households. Granted in this situation, this a town of roughly 1900 people. In greater sized population centres, they have delayed laying fiber because the cost per mile is far greater, especially when in comes to what they call "the last mile". Which is why the rural towns are starting to see superior internet access in the last 5-10 years, making the information you presented very out of date and inaccurate. It the most remote regions of Canada, what the author of this video claims temporarily remains true. However even that is about to quickly disappear given that Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite Systems like Starlink (funded by Elon Musk), will quickly change that situation within the next 6-12 Months. In fact in most places, like even in the US the biggest obstacle to living in remote regions becomes: 1. Access to goods and services 2. Fertile/Workable land to grow food or build a home 3. Access to electricity and a safe water supply Let's dispel this myth that Canadians are still some backward civilisation living in igloos and start promoting accurate information, such as leading amongst the top of the world in many other areas. (Sorry to the OP, most of this is directed at the author of this video)
The passive aggressive part is very accurate. I am living here for four years, and my social life really got f***** up because I just do not know who wants to interact with me and who doesn't, and everyone is pretty exclusive when it comes to friendship or just a basic connection.
Agreed 100% . I’m Canadian born but have lived half of my life abroad and 12 years in the US, and can see the difference in openness and friendliness of Americans, compared to frigid and unapproachable Canadians!

You can also pay for private healthcare in Canada if you want. I 100% disagree with the point on internet. Yes if you go live in a rural area you will suffer but this is the same in the US. I pay $110 per month in Niagara for 1.5 gigs download and 1 gig upload unlimited. no that's not a typo.
As a Canadian who worked for an American company, having crappy internet in rural areas is an American issue too. The amount of clients that complained they couldn’t use the program my company provided because of their internet connection being too slow was astronomical. And our internet here isn’t bad at all. Having lived in a rural community and in larger cities I’ve never had an issue with internet being slow
I know right.. I've lived on a farm about an hour out of Edmonton for years and have had good internet download and upload speeds (recently in all fairness). Then again I make a living off of snow removal so his #2reason is spot on!
I have the second lowest grade internet package from Shaw Cable in Canada and I download everything at 38 MB/s. MegaBytes. (Not Mbps. MB /s). My package is 300Mbps. So if I upgraded to fibre optic I can download at twice the speed. It took me 49 minutes to download Red Dead Redemption (114 GB) 😃

Canada is a great place and there's lots of public transportation, so you don't really need a car to get around. You are also judged us to be "faking" being friendly and lying about how we feel. Not a highly intellectual treatment of this country. One of the major limiting factors in the high taxation rate. (Do you really believe socialized medicine is free?) To understand the cultural differences more fully, examine Canada's history. The nuances in culture can be limiting, but the almost national resentment and paranoia (re: the country immediately to the South) should be considered lest you alienate your neighbors. Generally, all cultures and countries have strengths and weaknesses, but having lived in both countries, I would tend to disregard much of what this superficial treatment of a great country has to offer. If we were to discuss weaknesses, this presentation is quite weak in substance.
The reason Vancouver is so expensive is because money is laundered through it frequently in the form of buying homes way above market value. Its really a big problem, just google "the Vancouver Model" and see what comes up
@Der Schwindel meh its been over 2 years ago when China cut back on the outflow of cash leaving. there are always some great examples of stupid money from new rich mainlanders but its far from the norm. There is far more money being actually laundered from illegal drug trafficking. They were just paying friends to walk into casinos and lose money for a few hours and cash back out clean money. How dumb is that. The rest of prices is just actual locals expecting the prices to go up so it does. FOMO always keeping the party going with more buyers than sellers driving prices up, multiple offers and bidding wars. Then the super low interest rates. Easy to see that people tend to pay the same % of family income (its actually crept up very slowly) but with every small decrease in rate over a 25 or 30% loan a family can afford far more. But its over for a long time now with Covid. There isnt going to be a crash i doubt as the government will do everything and more to prevent it but we'll have deflation then inflation and those rates going up even without wiping many out, best case just kill price appreciation.

And is very complicated to go to Lake Loiuse since buses from banff town is very crowdy. 4: Book ALWAYS in advance for your room at hostals (I did) since rent a hotelroom here speacially in Vancouver and Toronto is very expensive places. 5: Coming here in Juli-August your skinn will melt since it is 30 plus celsius EVERYDAY even when raining! 6: DONT come to Canada in juli/august due to the tourist season, even do tourist come all around the year! 7: The part of passiveaggressive residence is true, if not try go out a night or use tinder and see for yourselfs XD 8: Part of grocery and fruit is false, 3 apples for 7 dollar in Toronto is a ripoff, here in sweden i get 5 apples for the prise of 3,50 Cad, so canada is defenitly getting expensive!
I got 4 minutes in and as a UK immigrant to Canada the stuff you grumble about is crazy petty stuff! This video reminded me why I love Canada so much! Thanks
As a Canadian, I hope there are more of these misnomer videos. I hope Canada continues to be a hidden gem. We get enough American pop culture. While some Americans are ok, for the most part, you keep your country, and we will gladly keep ours. Wall anyone?
Proud Canadian here, we get Americans at our trailer park and we shop like no fucking tomorrow at Walmart! So how are we different? Plus we gave you Ryan Reynolds and John Candy, "Strange Brew" with Bob and Doug McKenzie is a great Canadian documentary.
@Awakening Music The healthcare is not free, just cheaper. When you combine healthcare costs with taxes in the US, they pay more. Only wealthy Americans get a better deal.
Just to emphasize the distance thing. If you start driving from, say, Budapest, you can visit friends in Bratislava, Vienna, and drive on to Salzburg, spending a few hours on the road, but you've been to 4 countries. You can live in Toronto, Ontario, start driving, and 4 hours later, you're STILL in Ontario, and haven't gone very far. In fact, it's taken you 2 hours alone just to get OUT of Toronto. And since gas is in litres, and it's roughly 4 litres to a gallon, and our gas is provincially taxed, then federally taxed, then when you pay, you're taxed AGAIN on the taxes, it's more cost-effective to stay home and Facetime whoever you were going to visit. Right now, we pay about $1.40/litre. Times four, that's about $5.60 a gallon. In Newfoundland, it's a LOT more expensive. But then, health care is free.
The best was all those celebrities that threatened to move here after trump got elected then realized Canada actually has a strict immigration system that makes it really difficult. (Unless you're doing it illegally at Roxham Road, then our police will carry your bags for you)
When it comes to immigration, Trudeau (who dressed up in Blackface numerous times and was photographed in it) shows massive preference to anyone who is NOT of European descent like him.
sorry but canada is not that amazing as u think. The gouvernement use taxes for their wealth, they litterally brought swats just for protests without any guns, and finally they used to take autochton kids from their parents to brainwash them of their cultue and they claim to be "reconciallated"
I've read that if you get hurt or sick in a different Province from the one that you live in, you DO have to pay up-front and then apply for reimbursement from your home province when you get home.
My dad recently went through some major surgery in Ontario and the health care could not have been better. The surgeons, nurses, hospital staff, everyone involved, were excellent! Any American or magabrain who says the Canadian system is somehow deficient or inferior to the privatised American system is trying to sell you BS and insurance.
the only issue with heathcare in Canada is the government stealing the funds from it and giving it to corporations ... Auterity is theft for the rich. without it the system would be doing better.
He never said the healthcare professionals were bad, just that it was a longer wait. I have no idea if this is true or not, but he never said the professionals themselves were bad.
Honestly one of the biggest reasons I wouldn’t want to move to America is the culture. So many racist, dumb and uneducated people there. Their political system and justice System may be systematically flawed but put residents from another country there and there wouldn’t be as many problems.
Reid lived in the US for 19 years in Utah. Moved their for work. Was a nice place to live and overall, no issues about anything. It’s what you make of it and how you live. Nice to move back to Canada after I retired. Always a Canuck.
I am Canadian and currently never more grateful to be. Health Care is good here,. Correction to your info. Does not take 24 days to see a doctor. Also, at least here in Canada our people do not get turned away at emergency rooms. Our hospitals except every emergency walk-in. Our insurance is high , but the coverage is worth it. Also, we earn more here, We are totally responsible and respectful of races, gender equality. .. Canada is a blessed country Proud to be Canadian.. Canada is beautiful and welcoming, most incredibly forgiving
Yeah it depends upon where in Canada you are. Quebec's wait times are bad enough to have literally inspired the plot line of a famous dramatic film. Vancouver Island, on the other hand, has hardly any wait times from what I've heard. The earning more is probably mostly just because Canada does not have a Southeastern US - if you factor out the former Confederate States, US and Canada are probably pretty comparable. Even Nunavut is wealthier than Mississippi and Louisiana.

From an American who has never been to Canada: I really wouldn't mind living there. And if I could find a job and a place to live there, I would. It sounds like a great place and I'd love to visit it whenever I get my passport.
Canada is huge, & cities are far & few between. Most Canadians live in city/suburbs, most of the country is empty, it's time consuming and expensive to visit other parts of the country. Europe is easy to travel from one place to another.

Canadian, born and raised. Never heard of anyone playing $500 for internet. I pay $50 for unlimited.
It goes to show how out of touch americans are with canada, let alone the rest of the world.

Internet comment is a bit BS. Loads of unlimited plans and I live in a pretty rural place and speed isn't an issue.
In fact in most places, like even in the US the biggest obstacle to living in remote regions becomes:
1. Access to goods and services
2. Fertile/Workable land to grow food or build a home
3. Access to electricity and a safe water supply
Let's dispel this myth that Canadians are still some backward civilisation living in igloos and start promoting accurate information, such as leading amongst the top of the world in many other areas. (Sorry to the OP, most of this is directed at the author of this video)

As a Canadian who worked for an American company, having crappy internet in rural areas is an American issue too. Not a highly intellectual treatment of this country. One of the major limiting factors in the high taxation rate. (Do you really believe socialized medicine is free?)
To understand the cultural differences more fully, examine Canada's history.
I live in Canada (one of the cold city) and its not that bad, actually I love winter.

@@donarw1064 just because you dont understand how it works doesn't mean its bad... let me explain Hospital Emergency is... wait for it... EMERGENCY, an upset stomach is not an emergency. @@jeanjacques9365 He said stomach issue, not upset stomach. But its a valid point, TWO women just died in Nova Scotia this week while waiting at the ER. One had fluid around her heart that they didn't check before she went home because they wouldn't see her till 4 AM.
So don't pretend these are traige issues. I couldn't even get my damn cholesteral checked becaseu I had no family doctor, the clinic wouldn't do it because if something was wrong they'd have to take me as a patient and they don't take permanent patients. Outpatients and ER won't do it. FINALLY a nurse practitioner moved into our rural area.
In ontario they have clinics that take patients. For two decades I had no real 'doctor', I had a 'clinic'. You went in that morning and waited in line, sometimes three hours but you could leave and come back. Here there is no such service, clinics are hours doctors can spare, usually just a couple hours a day.
So definitely not doing GOOD when it comes to healthcare. MOST people I know who are ADMITTED usually say the care is very good. But thats only half the issue.
Back in Sweden after a backpacking in Canada and here is my results:
1: Part of wi-fi isnt true they have good speed but it can come and go even in a city as Toronto.

4: Book ALWAYS in advance for your room at hostals (I did) since rent a hotelroom here speacially in Vancouver and Toronto is very expensive places.

6: DONT come to Canada in juli/august due to the tourist season, even do tourist come all around the year!

He didn’t mention that Rand Paul came to Toronto for his Hernia repair. . .
Whats Up
Source?
He never said the healthcare professionals were bad, just that it was a longer wait.
I have no idea if this is true or not, but he never said the professionals themselves were bad.
Yeah I wouldn’t move to America, it’s worse.
Honestly one of the biggest reasons I wouldn’t want to move to America is the culture. So many racist, dumb and uneducated people there. Their political system and justice System may be systematically flawed but put residents from another country there and there wouldn’t be as many problems.
Your correct lol the gun country
Reid lived in the US for 19 years in Utah. Moved their for work. Was a nice place to live and overall, no issues about anything. It’s what you make of it and how you live. Nice to move back to Canada after I retired. Always a Canuck.
Thats why Im tryna leave
Reid YES ! As an American I can guarantee this is true !
Also, we earn more here, We are totally responsible and respectful of races, gender equality. ..
Canada is a blessed country
Proud to be Canadian..
Even Nunavut is wealthier than Mississippi and Louisiana.
ok but i really wanna go to canada, when i grow up ill move to canada and work there i bet if i moved there i will have 1000+ friends cuz most of canadians people are friendly and kind❤️
Trust me, it's hard to make friends here
@@Silly_comb why?
You understand eveything :DDDD
i love how he is talking about the cons but still gives a bunch of pros in the video
Most of this video was saying why you shouldn’t move to Canada and then doubling down and admitting that things are usually worse or not much better in the US lol
This video did a great job of convincing why I SHOULD move to Canada. I live in NYC, so the cons he presented are cons I already deal with here. What have I got to lose?
@@TheSethwardpyatt Come on up. As long as you are willing to work and earn your keep. Your welcome here. I have that attitude with anybody wanting to move here. As long as you intend to contribute....fine. Free loaders can go back to where ever the hell they came from.
Canada is now a communist country and there is no freedom of speech.
@@surfallday6583 Alright I know why you said this , but you have to admit it's an exaggeration , China and many other countries don't compare to Canada lol
surfallday If that were true you wouldn’t have been able to say that. But you did. So clearly there’s still freedom of speech. Unfortunately for you.
You said “major cities” there’s a bunch of smaller cities and towns that have different things to offer
as someone who lives in a semi small town and it is better and there is a lot of them
Born and grew up in Canada and I love Canada, beautiful big country.
Never had any issues with internet for 25 yrs.
I live in Canada and I can say most of this is bs. Lmao. I'd rather stay here in Canada rather than go to the USA

The topic of internet speeds being slow is all cap.. Almost everywhere in the Vancouver area, Telus has 100% fibre optic to the home. I have 1000mbps download & upload, and it goes over and actually hits 1200/1200 for $75 a month. Our internet here is way better than it is in the US.
He said rural areas........ watch the video
Speak for yourself we pay 75 dollars for internet in Alberta and I've litteraly seen it struggle to push 1mb download before. There was not a single typo in that statement, I'm dead serious.
Vancover , Toronto is not Canada their cities.
where I live 80,000 people city in Canada its 30mbps , no bandwidth limit and $115 per month. 30mbps was fast 15 years ago.
Rural internet is horrible ...
khalil Heat and air conditioner repair all rural areas benefit from exactly the same quality
Except for igloos.
There are pros and cons living here in Canada but for me, it’s more of having a good life if you’re hardworking.Thank you Canada for everything🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

As a Canadian most of this isn’t true- 💀 It just shows how much America doesn’t know about Canada.
i have lived a different experience btw. many of these I would say are 100% true
I would never ever move to the U. S. regardless of the few perks. Their love for weaponry is beyond ridiculous. It is sad that so many Americans have to live and operate under the constant threat of violence. Nuts!

Im not surprised.

Canada is huge, & cities are far & few between. Most Canadians live in city/suburbs, most of the country is empty, it's time consuming and expensive to visit other parts of the country. Europe is easy to travel from one place to another.
