When I gutted my 1100 for the first time, I went through the same thing and broke two springs. I improvised by using a battery as a follower and some tweezers from my iFix kit. Best of luck with your entry in the drawing! 👊
Great demonstration & description of a 1st gutting experience. - the driver pins in 1100"s vary a bit it seems. I have seen images of all serrated driver pins/4 serrated, 1 spool & 1 standard etc.. - very useful information, good luck in drawing.

I think it would have went a little better if I hadn’t had the core in the vise. I that the Bible clamped. It was a mess haha.
