    I am having my first composite filling done tomorrow. I am an 80’s baby and all my other fillings are amalgam. Glad to know it shouldn’t take super long.

    Very nice video Sir, do we make walls convergent for Class I composite restorations as well or these are only for amalgam?

      Generally yes, convergent walls are good for both materials, although not as mandatory for adhesive dentistry.

    As a dental assistant could I know the set up and the exact steps that I would need to know like tools to hand the dentist ?

      For this one in particular:
      Burs -> etch -> bond -> light -> Composite gun -> condenser -> (whatever the dentist likes shape occlusal anatomy with) -> light -> 7404 bur/cleoid-discoid -> polishing cups

      Dental assistants are the best! Every dentist does things a little differently, but the overarching procedures are similar and you’ll learn very quickly 😄

      Dude it is hard I started as a dental assistant in the middle of June and all those instruments and materials are hard to remember what my doctor needs😭😭🤦🏻‍♀️

      BaRbie AmBrEigNs I would recommend to get a small notebook to take notes. I work for a variety of dentists at my dental clinic. Taking notes of the procedures and what each dentist’s likes helps me so much. Don’t worry you will only get better!🤍

    I went to the dentist for two cavities but my back tooth feels off , it feels too flat compared to the other side. I'm not sure if that is fixable

    I went 17 years with out brushing and have been brushing for 4 months and 4 months ago my teeth where perfect no holes no cracks. But today when i was done brushing my teeth i found little holes and cracks alot like these. Im assuming there cavitys. 🥺 which means that my neglect of selfcare caought up with me. Am i right?

    May I ask what is the difference between polyester strip, mylar strip, celluloid matrix and finishing strip? I tried to google image but they are almost the same? Is there a differnce between them? Thank you so much!

    I got my first composite filling recently , as I left a old bad filling for too long and it went black over the top of my tooth. That what happened when your too lazy to the dentist oh well , I will take care of my teeth now .

      Some will argue it’s not absolutely necessary, but I do believe it helps strengthen your bond by evaporating the solvent with air.

      We recommend no larger than a 2x2 mm increment of composite unless a bulk-fill material is used as explained in the video 😊

      If the tooth is otherwise healthy, the restoration is not too large and is well done, and the patient maintains the tooth with excellent oral hygiene afterwards, then the chance for long-term survivability is high!

      Good question! It totally depends on the size of the filling and the operator though. For me, I would say a Class I restoration like this one from beginning to end would take no more than 20-30 minutes.

    I don't understand what Class I even means.There is no straight answer on Google nor on TH-cam. It's a piece of information the dentistry world seems to have reserved for inner circles only.

      It's a one surface cavity mostly on the occlusal( biting) surfaces (within the pits and fissures) idk for sure though. I just started learning 😂

      The “class” describes the area of the cavity
      Class 1- pits and fissures and well as the lingual pits
      Class 2- inter proximal area of posterior teeth
      Class 3-inter proximal surfaces anterior teeth
      Class 4-inter proximal surfaces including the incisal edge of anterior teeth
      Class 5- cervical third
      Class 6- cusp tips of posterior teeth or incisal edges of anterior
      For a better understanding, search up blacks classification :)
