* Small mistake. When I compare screens the names of the phone are in the wrong position it should be swapped. Also, Which phone would you rather use the OnePlus N30 or Pixel 6A? It's okay it's not like your job is to review phones or anything.
Google is a multi-billion dollar corp. They do well and all. But to buy their phone you're buying the "name" as with Apple iPhone. So here in America we do not have but three main phone manufacturers to choose from. Apple, Samsung and Google. There are crappy brands like Motorola, LG, and a few others. My point is, is that in the states we either have to buy very expensive and get good or buy cheap and get junk. There really isn't an in between. But now that we have the option of OnePlus we do. I will support OnePlus for as long as they are around. My N30 does not cease to amaze me on what it is capable of. I don't know what people are talking with the camera it works great for me. Color may be a little washed at times but who cares it still takes great pictures for being a $300 phone. And it's performance at anything I throw at the phone itself is just WOW. As I stated before, I do miss an OLED display but I can live without it so long as performance is 100%
i got my pixel 6 for 220$. Even through it was second hand, the seller said he didnt use it almost at all because just after a few months he got the pixel 7 pro. The camera quality is amazing and the battery isnt that bad. There are so many features packed into this thing like reverse wireless and a really nice 90hz display, the camera left me speechless google did a really good job
I got the N30 yesterday, its INCREDIBLE, the battery is ridiculous (in a very good way). I remember thinking, there's no way I still have this much battery juice left.
i went the other way and got a 6a.
@@mth469how's your experience so far. Tell me the good and the bad. I'm considering buying pixel 6a
I have over 26k worth of phones and mainly flagships but this battery rivals those I had 70 left with heavy use 8hrs on screen up with 50% of used storage 60apps downloaded .
Bought a excellent used Pixel 4a5g for 129us on amazon. No regrets, phone came like new with a perfect battery (about 9hours on screen time) which is 2 day battery life for me AND a headphone jack. Plus when official support ends, I'll just move over to Lineage OS or something similar.
Damn Pixel 4A still going I love it! Old phones are still great even for todays standards. Also nice to see you around again!
2day
Ltt don't buy used
I cracked the screen on my Galaxy s22 ultra 5g. I was looking for a cheap backup phone and found the N30 that came with a TCL 8 LE tablet ( which takes a sim card 4g ) all for under 300$ open box condition.
Here is what I like....
Huge screen ( I am nearsighted but do like to consume media on my phone, I spend lots of times in airports, flying and on commercial ships for work... The big screen is great )
SD card slot... i have a 1TB SD loaded with movies, i travel with a USB-C hub and an hdmi cable... I no longer need to travel with a laptop and external hard drive.
Battery life.... its amazing... 3 days if I am just occasionally browsing... a solid day with steady use
Headphone jack... I have great , premium headphones I couldnt use with my s22 ultra... now I get to use them on this phone
Great phone, feels just as good as my flagship samsung s22 ultra... I got a nice defender style case and this phone has been bulletproof... Pixel seems like a great phone... for my needs the Nso checked all the important boxes.
OnePlus - charging speeds and screen size
Pixel 6a - camera processor
OnePlus 8gb ram vs 6gb ram OnePlus wins
The 6a is a throwback to the Nexus series, high end performance and specs, software updates, now with top of the line cameras for $300. Complete steal
I know this is the wrong reason to select a phone, but I've always liked the look of the Pixel phones, there's something appealing about that band across the back. It's a bonus that there are other features that would make the Pixel a better choice for me.
i got my 6a for the same reasons you listed.
love the aesthetic, nice photos, it's small for today's standards and it has cool features
There's no wrong reason bro, that's what makes us unique, buy what you want
Big things i value are headphone jack and battery life... so for me the N30 offers more for its price than the Pixel 6a
Not really only for the things that you care about. I care about processor and speed so the phone stays nice and smooth for years and that's what the pixel 6A has done
I’ve got a pixel 7 pro but I can see how somebody might take the N30 over the 6a . To start with here in the states, if you order the N 30 off 1+ website you will get buds 2 worth about $59 for free.
The SD card support and the headphone jack are definitely worth something and also the 5000 battery means this phone is gonna last you through a day with no problem at all . With phones it always comes down to what’s the most important to you and so if the camera is the most important get the pixel 6a , but if you want a big screen phone to watch media, then the one plus would be a better choice
Exactly. That's why I ordered mine.
@@Princeton_James and I forgot to add one other thing you get the charger in the box which saves you another 25 bucks and it’s a super fast charger .
so that phone is 299 Canadian dollars in Canada and they also charge 299 USD here in the US, which means they uncharge us about 20 USD, damn
In the UK, the One+ is £249 versus £299 for the Pixel 6a. It gets 2 years of software updates (three of security), not the one year mentioned in this review. You also get an included charger and a free gift (headphones or case).
Hey Matthew, just wanted to let you know that your videos have been a way for me to calm down from school stress this past couple of weeks. I have been especially enjoying the laptop setups series and wanted to know if there will be another episode. Thanks!
Hey thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it and hopefully you're not too stressed out. I haven't done one in awhile but I plan too soon.
@@MatthewMoniz Thanks man!
I'm taking from this... Buy the Nord. I couldn't care less about camera quality, but battery is EVERYTHING.
No battery no camera
Exactly. I don't know why the reviewer was that focused on the camera when it's a budget phone comparison. I mean yeah, we can't ignore the magnificence of Pixel's camera, but if the focus was about camera performance then we wouldn't be looking for a budget phone. Our focus here is a decent performing **phone** which can last through the day.
The things I'm looking at are battery and updates. Which in this regard both are good with. So I'm going to look at other little things such as N30's 50w charging or 6a's adaptive battery/charging settings.
@@Art2D2what if you want a decent camera on a budget?
I got the N30 yesterday and omg I couldn't be happier
Man it's not even that this best the pixel bro
Better screen better refresh rate bigger screen
And I'm so tired of people complaining about the camera when they can download gcam which is insane for an apk
I have heard a lot of hardware problems happen with Pixel phones and poor and dysfunctional call quality. I trust OnePlus quality control more.
3:50 I believe you have the text for the phones reversed. The Nord N30 is the bigger phone and the 6a has the power and volume buttons on the same side.
I like both but what's the point of a better camera if the phone dies faster and takes longer to charge...
Right...but the 128GB of internal storage is the biggest deal for me...
So, that's how an Asus Zenfone 9 look if we make it bigger with plastic back.
I would get the one plus nord n30 to upgrade to from my pixel 4a 5g, it has the 5,000 mah battery like my sony xperia 1 iv, headphone jack, micro sd card slot and fast charging. I just wish the one plus nord n30 came with at least 256gb storage of internal storage since the 128gb of my pixel 4a 5g is almost full but at least it has a micro sd card slot. I already filled more than half of the 512gb storage on my sony xperia 1 iv. I'm still looking for a good deal on 1tb micro sd card in stores. There are too many counterfeit micro sd cards on amazon. I need the 1tb micro sd card slot to fill 4k iso rips for watching on my sony xperia 1 iv 4k display with 4k hdr 10 and surround sound. Dark knight rises uses 87.7 gb in 4k and super mario bros in 4k uses 82.9 gb both of them are 4k iso rips and an exact duplicate copies of the disc. Plex does not support the iso optical disc format. I use kodi, vlc and oplayer lite since oplayer lite has casting over a chrome cast.
Get a Microsoft One drive and upload your videos periodically to the mothership.
That way if the SD card ever dies on you - which it can - or your phone gets dunked in water, you won't lose everything.
Microsoft One is most convenient.
@@mth469 I have multiple ssds and like 2 hard drives since I switched to ssds full time since they are more affordable nowadays. I just don't trust western digital since they have issues with deleting peoples data on there hard drives and ssds. I have a bunch of micro sd cards as well. I use terabox since I get 1tb of free cloud storage. When terabox first came out in android, it was under development and there was no ads but now terabox has ads but I have the modded version of terabox on android to bypass the ads. I tried to upload all my 4k and blu ray movies with terabox but the limit is 20gb unless I pay for cloud storage but I don't pay for cloud storage. I don't even pay for streaming services since I don't stream my movies and music since I have them stored locally on my micro sd cards. My 256gb micro sd card is almost full since I have a mixture of 16 bit 44.1 khz wav, 24 bit 96khz flac and dsd 64 hi res res audio. I use media monkey to sync my music to my micro sd card since media monkey let's you sync your music to my internal storage and external storage devices.
@@mth469 I sometimes wash my sony xperia 1 iv under the sink lol. When the usb c port gets wet, I get a notification that the usb c port is disabled until the port is dried and it let's me know when there is no longer any liquid in the usb c port and than I can use my phone as normal. I blow into the usb c port like the old school game controller super nintendo game cartridges to make sure that there is no water left over and it works.
@@Burn_In_Oled_On_Purpose
your sd card will fail one day.
and on that day, you will lose all 1TB.
and that day is written in the stars
and that day.....
....is coming.
@@mth469 Thats why I have multiple ssds. I prefer physical storage over cloud storage. Cloud storage is too slow for streaming 4k since it's loading and buffering. I prefer to watch 4k from my micro sd card since it's faster than cloud storage.
at 4:02 the phones are swapped. the smaller phone is labeled as the nord. when the opposite is true.
I love the way he explains everything. I'm been a fan for years.
Thanks Ayo! I really appreciate it
Ayo.. how far?
@@Shazzar_ I think you mean how long? I'm gonna have to say at least 4 years or more. Maybe since the one plus 6!
he forgot to mention one gives you a charging brick the other doesn't
Pixels in the UK are dirt cheap. In fact, the 6a is selling like hot cakes here.
I think there was a mix in the screen section. for me battery life is a decisive factor on any smartphone and for that I would pick the n30 any time.
Y'all need to wake up the N30 comes out on top. Better refresh rate, waaaay better battery life, camera is decent (don't complain about camera when you can download gcam 9.1 apk)
Bigger screen, better cell and wifi reception. I mean I have over 26k worth of phones and mainly flagships because I build test design and love technology specially phones and PCs so take it from me. I refuse to lie....N30 is where it's at at this price range not the 6a.
The pixel 6a is good also I've been with pixel since nexus.
Pixel 6a battery life is unbelievable bad and the bugs are still insane to a certain point.
I love pixel it's Samsung, pixel, oneplus(when they hit it right) then iPhone for me but damn pixel fell since the 5a...7a is a good turn tho
2hrs charging with fast dying battery vs 1hr with 2 day better of light use and 7 to 10hrs of heavy use yeah think guys.
The one plus is only $150 right now on Best Buy it’s a steal
I had 3 pixel 6a's all 3 had signal problems idk if it was just a verizon issue but it was the worse pixel i ever had. Idk if its cause of the tensor chip but i kept getting random lags and the battery is the wooorst. I literally bought off my contract just to get another phone and chose the s23 ultra. Best decision ever
I commented elsewhere that I've had problems with both the 4a and 5a so I'm ready to abandon ship on google phones.
I have T-Mobile and just switched to the n30 for the same reason I love the phone but not getting my calls is a very big deal
Bought the first pixel and it bricked after a google update. Bought a 4a earlier this year, screen broke, bought a pixel 5 last month, used it for 2 weeks updated it to android 13 and bricked randomly just like the first one.
Just got a pixel 6 (not 6a), and the battery was dying extremely fast, lucky to last 1 day. My nord n200 I'm replacing lasted 2-3 days easy. So I've ordered a N30 for the same price as the pixel 6... Hope it's batter is much better.
Im using a pixel and have a OnePlus N200 i prefer the pixel for everyday use. The N30 vs the 6a though is a different picture. There are ways around the camera. Gcan will be available for the N30 at some point and with the expandable storage, headphone jack and fast charging i like the N30 even over the 7a that has wireless charging. Its the faster charging and the expandable storage with the headphone jack. Software 1 year is lame but its $300 it can last 2 years for that price why not get the extra hardware features.
dont forget the custom mods community for smartphones. you can install new android OS in your OPN with the phone having superior hardware specs.
the LCD screen on the one plus looks better. at least in this video. I happen to like ColorOS, I think pixels OS is really boring. I would just be concerned with the speed of the OnePlus. I have the pixel 6A and I think the screen is just trash. its a very very cheap oled screen and you don't get DEEP BLACKs more of a brown/gray tone how ever, the speed of the 6a is very good and the camera is grate. Would love to feel the haptics on the OnePlus as that's a huge thing for me.. thanks for the video.
3:52 are the tags correct ?
True, the price definitely changes the equation. Still, this is a comparison of apples to oranges. After all, the Nord is a budget class device. Conversely, the Google pixel 6 a is a mid-range class device. There are pros and cons to each device but, it boils down to what a consumer is prepared to live with. From my standpoint, I could never live with the tensor chipset.
I don't care about cameras battery life/charging and expandable storage are tops to me and having a headphone jack is a bonus
When watching these reviews its not actually a review or comparison anymore because the said reviewer has their favorite in mind and focuses on the particular device. There are apps to make cameras a tad bit better now days. The N30 actually gets 2 years of major updates and 3 years of security patches by the way. It says that on their website.
It all boils down to what the consumer is wanting and/or needing from the devices in question. So these reviewers need to quit basically making videos that say they are comparing the two devices because all they do is hype one up over the other and basically talk crap about one over the other.
Yes its a comparison 'but'if youre going to talking about a product do your homework about the device and not half ass your video. Because in this video you were quite wrong about the N30 on multiple areas. 2 year major updates, 3 years of security patches. My other One Plus devices actually got more updates than originally announced.
But its not up to me or these reviwers to determine what phone people get, these videos need to point out where both phones shine, where both struggle, be honest on update info, and anything else about the devices.
Personally I've had a couple of Google Pixel phones and they were junk. Especially compared to Samsung s series phones, and Apple iphones.
I have the google pixel 6a , and i wouldn't choose anything else. I cannot stand massive phones. I have small hands, but regardless of that i dont like big phones in my bag. In my opinion the pixel 6a is the perfect size. 18w charging is still fast. People have become used to even faster charging, and it's made them impatient.
I don't think anyone with decent technical knowledge would ever think SD695, which was released 1.5 years ago as a lower midrange, can compete with Google Tensor, which was released as a flagship, even if it wasn't on the same level with other flagships of the year. Realistically, if you have access to Google Pixel 6A with the official price, it's a no brainer. Sadly its availability is damn limited, and importing it privately may result in around 33% price increase due to taxes and customs.
Just the regular Google Tensor in the Pixel 6A not the second one. But ya its still a bit faster nonetheless!
@@MatthewMoniz ah, yes, corrected.
But 6 gigs of ram compared to 8 on the nord30
@@Ditronus. If you care more about multitasking than performance, sure. But most will be fine with just 6. You only need enough RAM, as more will only be a waste, but there will never be enough performance, so the faster the better.
@@leledumbo gotcha. Wish I got a pixel 7 when it was down to $450. My daughter needs a phone upgrade, but it feels bad paying $350 for a pixel 6a (current 3rd party price on amazon) when $100 more would've gotten me a newer, higher end device in a pixel 7.
The pixel 6a looks way bigger than the nord n30 at 4:03 mark....and the nord is way bigger....weird
I live in AZ and anytime it's over 110 the Pixel says overheating and powers OFF. . So guess what I went to T mobile today and the old lady in front of me ALSO had a Pixel 😟 her Pixel OVERHEATS!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 we were at T-Mobile for same thing back to back. If you live in a southern state don't get a Pixel
I live in AZ s as well. I have an iPhone 📱 and I get the same overheating message. I believe it’s more to do with where we live rather than the phone but that’s just my opinion.
Nice job. No comparison between the two.
thanks Jeff!
Depends what you need. I don't care about cameras as much but battery life so yeah, no comparison. N30 it is.
Battery is why i will never get a pixel again...
It's been fixed
No brainer for me , speakers, 50watt charging, more ram, bigger battery etc.
...also 120Hz, Snapdragon rather than Exynos knock-off, SD card, headphone jack...the Nord is the better phone for bang for buck. That is uncontestable.
For sure. And the price for all that. Easy win!
No headphone jack, that's a dealbreaker for me. Bluetooth sucks entirely.
Nah
... Unless you'd literally rather get a flip phone than buy a google phone.
Also, why do people want their phone manufacturer to change things? As in why is it a selling point that I get an android upgrade or three? I'm all for security upgrades, but once I've learned how to do what I want to do, I don't want to learn a new way to do it because my phone manufacturer arbitrarily decided another version was better. Can anyone make this make sense to me?
"it's really hard to make a bad phone" you should really try reviewing the horrible devices TCL makes.
I quit the moment you said IPS LCD , it's 2023 all phones are supposed to have OLED nowadays, come-on the cheap Redmi phones do have OLED to less money !
hey hey watch the whole video don't you dare hurt my watch time! I'm kidding I dont blame you for that price OLEd should be on there if the competition is doing it
Nothing wrong with LCD, especially for that 20% that suffer at the hand of PWM. You also get 120Hz which most creators whine about as life-changing and the most important thing to happen in smartphone land. So Pixel 6a should be a no-go (I don't see it this way, but comments and YT expert reviewers claim otherwise).
Iphone SE
Gotta love oled burn-in. Oled is not worth it. On mobile screens or TV panels. Have had it occur on both formats without much use. High end oled phone high end LG oled screens.
Amoled lightsabers and burns are popular nowadays. Ips is not that bad and it's durable.
The N30 seems like a rebranded Vivo/Oppo/Realme device. And Where is the alert slider? - You cant call it a Oneplus phone if it is missing the alert slider! Major No for me!
The thing I like about the N30 is the big screen and big battery. But I can't stand poor quality pictures. So might have to get a pixel so either the 7 or 8 but I try to not spend more than $500 on a phone since I don't have insurance on my phones.
Pixel has a 4400 battery not 4100
This phone never overheats and battery lasts forever. Hello?
Pixel 6A has OLED PWM flicker. N30 has no flicker.
So N30 wins!
Thank you for an excellent and through review! I'm upgrading from an OnePlus Nord N10 5G, and I am so tired of having a crappy camera, I deserve better LOL. You've cinched my decision . Have a fantastic day, and thanks again!
Cameras might be important for some, but not for me
Lol it's called nord ce3 lite here in india🤣
You have beeper! I saw that app! :) I got waitlisted recently and am looking forward to trying it out.
It’s a great app ! Hopefully you get on it soon
WTF is up with this phone? What good is the print reader if the phone is going to force you to enter your pin every 6 wakes or so? I've been a huge fan of oneplus since 2016, but this pin sht is ridiculous
The pixel, great specs and price.
Agreed its too good for the price!
but 60hz
dont even consider about buying ips lcd over oled
120 hz vs 60 hz
50w charging vs 18w
Give me the N30
is the oneplus tphone even available in the us
Yup!
I usually just watch movies n stuff n play some games wich is better?
I have a 6a and it's okay but the battery isn't great
Does Nord30 has alert slider???
Should I buy realme gt 2 or realme gt Neo 3t or pixel 6a i only play genshin impact
The only reason I would prefer the pixel is the pixel experience.

I don't really care about the differences. I like the bigger screen and I'm getting my N30 for just $62.

I'll take pixel with the beta program.
Looks like zenfone 9
Ya it kind of does but a lot larger
Ugh so annoying. I don't actually want the Pixel for the camera, I want it because it's well supported for custom ROM's and the tensor processor. But the battery life, headphone jack and expandable storage on the Nord make me want it over the Pixel. My old phone suddenly started suffering from battery bulge and I'm really not liking the moto g play I got as a replacement. Decided to look at something a little better specced and if they hadn't removed the headphone jack from the 6a I could deal with the lack of SD slot but not having both is a bummer. Guess I'll have to think about this a bit more before I make my decision.
I got the pixel 6a when it 1st came out, it was a hot phone. Tried holding on to it through the updates to see if it would stop heating up but it never stopped finally back in March switched to a moto g stylus (2022) and havent looked back. Never again will I purchase a Google phone
I'm not in usa or canada but I will still sacrifice to get the pixel 6a 😊
Pixel 6a no doubt
Like that phone flip
Thanks for watching!
I feel like the Nord is not worth the price and comparison. It feels like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro with a better processor. I think it's on par with the galaxy A32 with a slightly worse screen.
If it wasn't for MIUI I'd recommend the Redmi Note 12 Pro even if it is a rebrand it's much better than this.
Maybe where you are but in North America Xiaomi doesn't exist so its either OnePlus, Google, Samsung or Apple.
@@MatthewMoniz ......and Motorola ! I have a Pixel 6a which I bought off Amazon last December for $299. The one thing I highly dislike about it is the warmth of the screen when using the phone for an extended period of time, becoming somewhat uncomfortable for my fingertips.
Despite the fact that most Motorola phones are lower end phones in comparison to Google phones, being a Motorola fan for years I've never had any issues with phone screen heating up, and should you try charging and using the Pixel 6a at the same time, forget that, let it rest because the hot screen becomes even worse. I did some research and saw that a number of Pixel 6a owners had the same hot screen issue.
I would love to see a detailed comparison as this video comparing the Pixel 6a with the Moto Edge 30 Fusion (US version)...thank you.
