    Thank you so much for this, even as a 20 year old I feel like I’m not young adult anymore. So many characters are still 16 and go to Highschool and struggle with having their first kiss or something, so relating to them even if the story is good, is really hard ;)

    The first fantasy novel I read was Uprooted, and I loved it. The story was really interesting. I recently read ACOTAR and I DEVOURED it. I had to pace myself on book 2 and 3 because I didn't want it to end. It's now sparked my love of High fantasy novels. Thanks for the recs

    I'm probably way older than your normal audience, but are we past the days of an avid young reader just reading literally everything they can get their hands on? My supply was mostly limited to whatever the adults in my life read, because books were given to me secondhand. So, I grew up reading a LOT of adult thriller, horror, fantasy, and romance. I feel like because I was welcome to ask questions and discuss anything I read that confused me, I was able to mature more quickly and more well-rounded than a child who was told to only stick to age-appropriate reading material. It was also a HUGE help in upper education because I was already experienced in reading adult themes. Is it different nowadays? Genuinely curious..

    • @BookswithBrittany
      @BookswithBrittany  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I feel like YA has a lot more differences now and is definitely targeted for a younger age.

    I was wondering if a Court of Thorns and Roses was similar to a Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I didn't enjoy a throne of glass due to the main character (everything else I actually really enjoyed but I can't read something where I despise the main character so much). I found her very immature, but she was written to be flawless. So I suppose I was wondering if you saw similarities between the protagonists of each (if you've read both) since id love to give Sarah J. Maas another chance.
    I definitely wanna give Poison Study a chance though! That one seems very intriguing.
