- One city is taking a step forward from a tragic day 14 years ago after a gas pipeline owned by PG&E exploded in a San Bruno neighborhood, killing eight people and destroying dozens of homes. Settlement funds from the disaster have now built a new community recreation and aquatic center, which opened on Saturday.

And all customers are paying the settlement not PGE
Exactly!
PG & E, should not be paying!
The small time contractor that created the conditions didn’t have enough insurance coverage to cover the GRAND REMODELING of the rec center, from a single outdoor pool (that was fine, it’s where my children learned to swim), to THREE indoor pools (1 of which is Olympic size and quality)?
From an adequate weight room, to a full scale enormous, professional quality gym.
Rerouted storm runoff drains, remodeled baseball facilities
Now we are funding a swim center…nice.
fourteen years though? FOURTEEN F'ING YEARS???
Thank the rate payers, PGE didn't spend the 2.2 billion profit from 2023!
Why don't they pay the families?
They did
This is the news report I saw earlier this week regarding the opening of the aquatic center.
Wow
Good grief!
How ironic put a pool even tho there was already a pool next to the old rec center they say san brunos a city with a heart but honestly living there and working for that city fuck that place
So they invest in a community center instead of rebuilding those homes ?!!
Hope they keep the outdoor pool for the very young and and old souls. Failed swimming lessons twice, loved that pool any way. Happy they got that bldg done now plant in more canopy trees around the park looks to barren. They should have completed the cement trail walk to junipero county park first.
I almost died that day

pge be up to no good
What a waste of money rebuild those 40 homes and give the over to the city
I never got get that day was the worse day of my life forgot about that
Aquatic center isn’t what San Bruno needs, housing and replacement neighborhood is where that money should have gone.
Natural gas is dangerous. I don't know why we insist on continuing adding natural gas to our homes when we know about not just the extreme flammability but also the potency as a greenhouse gas. It was pitched as a transition fuel in the 2010s, but the fossil fuel industry have gotten us addicted to natural gas.
*EVERYTHING is HIGH because of the GreenNewScam HIGH FUEL and Elec ENERGY COSTS !!!* From seed to farmer to planting fertilizing harvesting processing/drying with LP gas to production to storage TRANSPORTATION to manufacturing/production to temp storage to markets. Crazy HIGH TAX ON LAND and INSURANCE$$$ !!! All that cost goes up so does EVERYTHING ells up n down the chain !!! State/County/City TAX on property goes up so does our RENT and house payments. Elect, water, NG Utility's cost goes up so does OUR RENT all because of GreenNewScam !!! Gas is no more dangerous OVER PRICE ELEC !!!
How dose this help the dead again?

So who's going to replace those burned homes 🙄 pg&e should replace all those burnt homes and the aquatic center renders useless 🤦🤦
