OG Heathers are alluring without looking cheap and the choreographer’s and costume designers in Riverdale make them look like a truck stop hooker version of the musical. When it comes to the Heathers, less is more! They can still be sexy without being over the top.

Candy Store is meant to be edgy and in your face with the language. It's my favorite song and the perfect introduction to how the Heathers can be. Taking away the things that made the song so great only makes once a fun song into something lackluster.

I feel like the whole dark, cynical mood in the high school context is something that Heathers achieves so well, but that Riverdale fails completely at. Where Heathers is a comedy that can so gracefully laugh at its own absurdity, Riverdale takes itself seriously to the point of fault. That's where the magic of Heathers was lost in this episode.

The series is kind of giving off the vibe that you're kind of watching Heathers itself, but set place in Riverdale. However, the outcome seems like a stupid parody insteax.

I think the reason why riverdale does a lot of musical episodes is because writers from riverdale were also writers of glee, so they kind of just make it “glee like” by adding musical episodes.
This should not exist. Heathers the Musical is one of the greatest modern musicals in existence and this has probably put so many people off of seeing it.
I'm from Spain, and in my highschool you could wear almost everything. 3 out of 5 days of the week I would wear high heels and no one would bat an eye. Like, I would literally wear a see thru shirt with my bra under and nothing would happen. My last 2 years I didn't even wear a bra. We literally can wear whatever we're comfortable or how we feel like. I knew a girl who would almost do cosplay everyday (wigs, makeup, contacts).
The riff in Candy Store was the equivalent of demonic screeching. They BUTCHERED it SOOOOOOOO BAD! Also the original lyrics for Candy Store are, to put it lightly, not exactly clean but even then the choreography is not that sexualized. Plus no one died in Our Love is God and JD didn’t try to blow up the school so I’m very unhappy.😂

In candy store they're supposed to be talking about cocaine, in dead girl walking there is ACTUAL SEX LMAO, big fun is supposed to have them rolling a blunt. I don't know what was worse, that, the dancing, the auto tune, the random whipping sounds, or the fact that they didn't do the plot AT ALL and no one even had a fixed character!!

I think the reason why riverdale does a lot of musical episodes is because writers from riverdale were also writers of glee, so they kind of just make it “glee like” by adding musical episodes.

Heathers the Musical is one of the greatest modern musicals in existence and this has probably put so many people off of seeing it.
I'm from Spain, and in my highschool you could wear almost everything. 3 out of 5 days of the week I would wear high heels and no one would bat an eye. Like, I would literally wear a see thru shirt with my bra under and nothing would happen. My last 2 years I didn't even wear a bra. We literally can wear whatever we're comfortable or how we feel like. I knew a girl who would almost do cosplay everyday (wigs, makeup, contacts).
The riff in Candy Store was the equivalent of demonic screeching. They BUTCHERED it SOOOOOOOO BAD! Also the original lyrics for Candy Store are, to put it lightly, not exactly clean but even then the choreography is not that sexualized. Plus no one died in Our Love is God and JD didn’t try to blow up the school so I’m very unhappy.😂
