I don't see how Christopher Butler thought anyone would believe he planned the bank robbery with Michelle. First of all, where is her cut of the money? She didn't get any of it and they wouldn't have been able to prove that she got any. So what would be her motivation to commit the robbery?Second of all, would she willingly leave her small daughter with these low-lives in her house (that they might rob)? They could have done anything to her daughter and could even have taken her away somewhere Michelle would not be able to find her.
Also, it's a travesty that Christopher's girlfriend Lisa actually confessed on tape but the judge made that inadmissible in court so that Lisa walked free. Wow.

This story really opened up my eyes, and I pray that the good Lord softens my heart so that I can free myself from the pain. At the end of the day, forgiveness is for our freedom not for those that did us wrong. Thanks again for sharing this story.!

    • @melindahajdin

It really isn't. The forgiveness narrative is pushed by other people because they're tired of your anger and pain, and they want you to neutralize yourself so they can skip along to the next outrage. It is absolutely possible to release yourself from pain without pretending you are okay with everything that was done to you. It is also okay to have anger and pain, you don't need to neutralize them just because they make other people uncomfortable. Their discomfort is on them, not you.

I worked in banking for 7 yrs. I remember one of our loss prevention/robbery training classes mentioned this. They said not to have photos of your family members on your desk or in your teller station. It's sad that you can't have photos of your loved ones to look at throughout the day just bc a-holes can use them for nefarious reasons!

    • @Jaycee555
      @Jaycee555 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@ agreed, it’s a shame. Our security team didn’t really emphasize this for our tellers because their stations were behind a covered counter and not visible. But for the platform offices it was “suggested” but not strictly enforced so everyone did it anyway. I only had one branch manager that was adamant about no photos when I first started working for them. I was with the bank for 10 years, at 4 different branches and only that one was strict about that rule. At the time, I was young and new to banking so I thought she was just mean because she had a lot of rules that seemed a little too harsh. After moving to other branches and gained more training and experience the fear really started to set in. It was my favorite job and I wanted to retire there but I was pregnant with my 4th child and daycare was becoming a little too expensive for multiple children, so my husband wanted me to become a stay at home mom. After watching this video I am glad I left because the anxiety wasn’t worth it. During my 10 years we were only robbed twice but it’s a reality that could happen at any time.

The attorney for Lisa is vile! I understand trying to provide the best possible defense, but to admit his strategy was to beat up the victim as much as possible is beyond unethical. Lawyers like him should be disbarred. I feel so sorry for Brea and Michelle and the trauma they are dealing with for the remainder of their lives. Brea is a hero, telling her mother to handle her business while having what she thought was dinomite to her back. And then to be diagnosed with MS is terrible. Sometimes life is SO hard, but she's a warrior. I know she is going to be just fine.

While I found his defense to be completely plausible and supported with solid, consistent evidence, I still agree with what you said here. Way too many defense attorneys use absolutely ridiculous arguments to defend their clients, many of them irrational asf and an insult to the courts imo. Do they really believe jurors are THAT dumb? Some of them are so absurd they sound like something straight out of a sci-if movie 😂 They need to be held to a higher standard and not be allowed to present such nonsense! Although I believe Michelle was involved in the bank robbery and got away with her crime, _most_ guilty people are rightfully convicted of their crimes DESPITE their defense attorneys outrageous defense arguments. We can find some solace in that.

That actually is possible if she was held in a way that just allowed her to stab somewhere.
People held in a choke-hold for example often end up stabbing the attacker in the chest.
      BUT:
IF he had choked her and held her down in a way that she would only get her arms around him so the stab wound would be on his back..
In that case the angle of the stab wound would be VERY specific so any ME would have been her best witness and could have explained quite well if the angle matched her story.
So it is quite telling the her defense seemingly never hired a ME to verify her claim.
Means: the jury made the right call here.

In the criminal justice system, the people are judged by two separate yet equally important groups: the defense attorneys, who prosecute the victims and the judges who allow slander culture to thrive under their watch. These are their stories.

Basic gun safety. Never point a gun at something you don’t intend to shoot. Treat every gun as if it’s loaded. Know your backstop. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
Teach your kids for WHEN (not if) they come across a gun: STOP. Don’t touch. Tell an adult.

That woman was in on it! I’m sorry that story was so detailed & sounded like a bad Novel .. and what does she go on to do ? Write 2 books 🧐. Then she FLEES less than 2 weeks after to Alaska, AND films the journey Documentry style? What got me most was her recording her reunion with her daughter in Alaska sooo
Dramatic. Her poor daughter was only 7 , Shes heard her ENTIRE life only what her mother has drilled into her .. That sweet Girl 🥹 Bless her .. She was in financial distress, didn’t give them marked money !?,? Whyyy ? What if they fled with the kid ? That money would be able to be traced & hopefully get her back alive … her being a stripper while she worked at a bank is relevant.. Not because of some moral BS , but because that’s a hustler life style that would put her right in a position to meet criminals ..
      Something don’t smell
      Right
