I don't see how Christopher Butler thought anyone would believe he planned the bank robbery with Michelle. First of all, where is her cut of the money? She didn't get any of it and they wouldn't have been able to prove that she got any. So what would be her motivation to commit the robbery?Second of all, would she willingly leave her small daughter with these low-lives in her house (that they might rob)? They could have done anything to her daughter and could even have taken her away somewhere Michelle would not be able to find her. Also, it's a travesty that Christopher's girlfriend Lisa actually confessed on tape but the judge made that inadmissible in court so that Lisa walked free. Wow.

Melissa is the most terrible "actress" ever! He stabbed himself in the back; oh wait, I stabbed him "lightly". I can't remember, no wait, we DID have an argument. She got away easy with 20 years. She should never be released.
@@mariatorres9789not in Florida, there is no parole there and defendants must serve a mandatory minimum of 85%of their sentence. She'll serve 17 years.
@eraldadevole Get smart or get caught! It's stunning that he didn't realize she would recognize his eyes after speaking face-to-face with him for an extended time just hours earlier.
The attorney for Lisa is vile! I understand trying to provide the best possible defense, but to admit his strategy was to beat up the victim as much as possible is beyond unethical. Lawyers like him should be disbarred. I feel so sorry for Brea and Michelle and the trauma they are dealing with for the remainder of their lives. Brea is a hero, telling her mother to handle her business while having what she thought was dinomite to her back. And then to be diagnosed with MS is terrible. Sometimes life is SO hard, but she's a warrior. I know she is going to be just fine. The third case is crazy. Her crying, as in so many sociopath 's cases, didn't produce any tears. Bugs bunny didn't shoot Duffy. His evil wife did it.
While I found his defense to be completely plausible and supported with solid, consistent evidence, I still agree with what you said here. Way too many defense attorneys use absolutely ridiculous arguments to defend their clients, many of them irrational asf and an insult to the courts imo. Do they really believe jurors are THAT dumb? Some of them are so absurd they sound like something straight out of a sci-if movie 😂 They need to be held to a higher standard and not be allowed to present such nonsense! Although I believe Michelle was involved in the bank robbery and got away with her crime, _most_ guilty people are rightfully convicted of their crimes DESPITE their defense attorneys outrageous defense arguments. We can find some solace in that.
In the UK it's the judge's job to restrain lawyers, either off their own bat, or in response to opposing lawyers objecting to a line of questioning and asking a judge to stop it.
It was unethical yes I’m not clear why the judge etc didn’t object esp knowing that there was video evidence contradicting the defence aggressive questioning, in the uk they would. It seems like a miscarriage of justice
In the first case - she only admitted to the stab on the back because there was no other excuse for that wound! She’s truly evil and seems to be making it up as she goes!
I saw this original 48 hours about Michelle Renee and her daughter’s kidnapping and bank robbery heist … and this particular episode is the follow up and it’s amazing !! Brilliant I wish all horrible tragedies had endings as happy as this one.
The second story pisses me off. Lisa’s attorney knew she was guilty but still drilled the victim over and over so badly that she was set free. WOW! Then the other guy lies and makes everyone try to think she was in on the robbery? Her “sketchy” past wasn’t even sketchy. If that’s what sketchy is then everyone must be
Being a lawyer is not an easy job. A lawyer can think their client is the scummiest person the planet and still try to do everything to defend them…it’s their job.
@@Findpepperbridge There's an episode that came out the other day named "Krystal's Courage." It's about an 11-year-old girl who survived a knife attack by a serial kiIIer. The defendant's attorney did a splendid job. He defended his client without pummeling the girl.
He didn’t want to be an abusive and dishonest pr-stitute. The way she was hunched over following behind him and then hunched over talking to the door was scary as hell and makes me think she was literally possessed just as the audio did. Her lying with ease with every piece of evidence they confronted her with and eventually claiming he was abusive and she was a victim is disturbing and she should be in prison for LIFE. That judge needs to be held accountable… She was out for YEARS before trial?! The jury and judge didn’t immediately see through her horrible fake acting and they never checked her blood alcohol level?! How long would HE have gotten?? Multiple people heard HER be the abuser and she even challenged and was confrontational and rude to the prosecutor.
Michelle, you are a special woman. I am so sorry you and your daughter had to go through that, but you are strong and intelligent. You bounce back and recreate and thrive. You were right in your decision to forgive all, but support the two that deserve it. I knew you would pick yourself up and do well. Strong women do. Unless you are truly falsely accused, and that does happen. I don’t believe it in this instance, but it does happen. In those instances, you thank God for those attorneys
@@greeneyedsoutherngirl6468my thoughts exactly. Jose Baez is a defense attorney people seem to hate. Yes, he's freed murderers, but I'd rather one murderer go free than one innocent person locked up for 20 years. Ryan Ferguson comes to mind.

Ugh!!! Horrible case. There’s enough proof that she was the aggressor and pure demonic herself!!! What a tragedy! It would be hard as his family to let the law do its thing when it’s doing nothing!! UGH!
The second case. The defense attorney's are so disgusting. What happened to just reporting the facts. So the brains of the opperation is walking around free after she admitted to coming up with the plan and being on the walky talky. Way to go justice system.
That actually is possible if she was held in a way that just allowed her to stab somewhere. People held in a choke-hold for example often end up stabbing the attacker in the chest. BUT: IF he had choked her and held her down in a way that she would only get her arms around him so the stab wound would be on his back.. In that case the angle of the stab wound would be VERY specific so any ME would have been her best witness and could have explained quite well if the angle matched her story. So it is quite telling the her defense seemingly never hired a ME to verify her claim. Means: the jury made the right call here.
When a lawyer said he's going to beat the hell out of a victim really makes me hate lawyers! Plus the fact that that lawyer said she was guilty that his client was guilty already but he still was going to take it out on the victim how heartless are lawyers
Then for the lawyer to celebrate that he threw the victim under the bus and got his guilty as Sin defendant off scott free! There is no justice...stop fooling yourself! If that lawyer was a victim once is his stupid life maybe he would find some morals in which to work with!
She was hiding that huge slice in her Palm by wearing those rubber gloves......😮 And she should be arrested for sitting like that with her feet in a weird clubbed way....😂
Sooooo gross. She’s a freaking lying and calculated sociopath. Pr-titute for the desperate clearly. She seemed possessed hunched over following behind him like that and then hunched over talking to the door with her back to the camera….. it’s pretty disturbing.
1:33:26 Being silly ALL THE TIME is weird, but no problem. The problem was, she was careless. Even if someone tells you a firearm is empty, you still check yourself. Asking someone else if the gun is empty instead of checking yourself is specifically not safe firearm handling. Never ask anyone, always look 👀
She didn’t believe it was empty. Cold blooded killer that nearly got away with it… I mean look what happened with Baldwin even as a producer with a record of multiple misfires on set and using that family for photo ops to help himself
First girl guilty AF. Defense attorneys truly are like idiot teens trying to convince a parent with an obvious lie. 🙄. I see she found the weight she lost also.
Lisa Ramirez' Defense attorney, Herb Weston, is a liar. I wish something could be done to change untruthful damages made in a court of law. What was Weston's response when Butler recanted twenty years later at a parole hearing? I usually praise defense attorneys for doing their jobs, but Weston _knew_ he was lying and causing ruin to a victim's life.
Breea is an amazing person. It was very inspiring for me to watch how she stayed positive throughout her frightening and life changing diagnoses. She had to give up her athletic pursuit in college and still attended, determined to go and finish despite challenges. I have a different autoimmune disorder that flared up when I started college to obtain a degree at the age of 62. It was almost two years ago that I started, and I am still going. I too have had set backs, so it is taking me longer but I won’t give up. I need to concentrate on exercise right now so I will be taking the Spring semester off. I will think about Breea’s strength and determination to concur her physical challenges and images of her working so hard, to help motivate me.
I thought the same thing 😞 I don’t ever want to be on a jury, I don’t know how they deal with their decision now knowing they didn’t get all the information
When I saw Melissa's video where she's crying, I felt one thing: "Cut! That's a wrap! Bravo, superstar! No need for a second take. Oscar-worthy performance right there!"

Basic gun safety. Never point a gun at something you don’t intend to shoot. Treat every gun as if it’s loaded. Know your backstop. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire. Teach your kids for WHEN (not if) they come across a gun: STOP. Don’t touch. Tell an adult.
Somebody else mentioned this, too: In the bank robbery episode (second episode), what happened to the roommate? The roommate who arrived and walked in during the kidnapping?
That woman was in on it! I’m sorry that story was so detailed & sounded like a bad Novel .. and what does she go on to do ? Write 2 books 🧐. Then she FLEES less than 2 weeks after to Alaska, AND films the journey Documentry style? What got me most was her recording her reunion with her daughter in Alaska sooo Dramatic. Her poor daughter was only 7 , Shes heard her ENTIRE life only what her mother has drilled into her .. That sweet Girl 🥹 Bless her .. She was in financial distress, didn’t give them marked money !?,? Whyyy ? What if they fled with the kid ? That money would be able to be traced & hopefully get her back alive … her being a stripper while she worked at a bank is relevant.. After watching this video I am glad I left because the anxiety wasn’t worth it. During my 10 years we were only robbed twice but it’s a reality that could happen at any time.
Michelle and Breea are different, and it’s beautiful. That strength and bond…that determination and tenacity….I wanna be like them when I grow up.
I'm only 3 minutes in. SHE DID IT. 😅
I think Melissa is all about herself and no one else matters 😢
I thought I've heard it all but the bugs Bunny scenario took the cake..
What do I make of Melissa's account of what happened with Matthew?
And which account is that? It was hard to keep up with her "accounts."
i dont think i've ever heard of a case where the criminal handed over his business card to his victim
They didn’t seem very sharp probably thought she wouldn’t recognize. They also had all the evidence still laying around
@eraldadevole Get smart or get caught! It's stunning that he didn't realize she would recognize his eyes after speaking face-to-face with him for an extended time just hours earlier.
@@stefgent88on the other hand, look at that sketch! She's correct in stating observation is her superpower, no question.
There is nothing funny about Pointing a firearm at a person.
As if prosecutors aren’t also trying to make the other person look as bad as possible lol. That’s literally lawyer 101
That second story broke my heart and gave me faith in humanity - Michelle and her daughter are amazing people.
She is such a liar
Shame on that judge to grant that lady only 20 years in jail. SMH 🤦🏾♀️
Melissa is all the cluster B personality disorders rolled up together!
(disclaimer: this is just my opinion, not a psyche professional)
@@GuarDeannAngel I agree. She reminds me of Amber Heard but worse.
That audio is horrifying. Sounds straight up like him being murdered
@@Findpepperbridge
There's an episode that came out the other day named "Krystal's Courage."
It's about an 11-year-old girl who survived a knife attack by a serial kiIIer. The defendant's attorney did a splendid job. He defended his client without pummeling the girl.
@@Nirualwell duh
I'm still shocked Lisa got nothing.
@PinkGrammarGirl sadly, I'm not. This country's 'justice' system is terrible.
That judge needs to be held accountable…
She was out for YEARS before trial?!
The jury and judge didn’t immediately see through her horrible fake acting and they never checked her blood alcohol level?!
How long would HE have gotten??
Multiple people heard HER be the abuser and she even challenged and was confrontational and rude to the prosecutor.
Great points. The American justice system is broken.
Perfectly said. Her attitude to the prosecutors is a dead giveaway of her guilt.
She’s such a liar… it’s pretty obvious. Come on. I think he did have a drinking problem but so did she. It’s definitely not self defense.
They had destroyed everything you worked for, but like Job in the bible, you have been blessed with abundantly more. God bless you and Brea and all your friends and family who support you. I just love strong women because we have integrity. Good luck.

Scrolling waiting to see if anyone else sees she was in on it .. That story of the kidnapping was like a novel , Then she goes on to write 2 books . She was in financial trouble . She was a dancer & yea it’s relevant. Simply because that’s a hustler life , usually drugs around & she could have met them easily. She immediately takes off to Alaska , AND documents the entire thing after being thru so much !? Cooome on .. she was in on it !
@@jettsetgirl she wasn't in on it. Don't use her past to judge her.
I am amazed that anyone would call her an "actor". You might say that, but it's pretty clear she is nothing more than a liar. Let's not pretend like she can actually act. Maybe overact. But she has fooled no one
Right? Acting is an actual gifted skill that takes work. Let's both pretend she has an ounce of it.
Seems like she fooled the judge.
@TinyStar-oz3bo i couldn't watch all the way through. Watching her lie in that police chair. I had to turn it off. So if she fooled a judge then she fooled a jury of her peers. That seems impossible. But then again I get surprised by the masses alot.
@TinyStar-oz3bo she was found guilty and will spend the 25 years in prison? How did she fool him? By not getting life?
Ok first case, so she cries because of trauma then immediately gets smart about what crying means?
Only 20 years? She killed him. Sad.
That defense attorney Weston (in the 2nd case) is a prime example of THAT attorney that EVERYONE despises. He's absolutely DESPICABLE.
Unfortunately, a great defense attorney. I agree with you completely.
Unless you are truly falsely accused, and that does happen. I don’t believe it in this instance, but it does happen. In those instances, you thank God for those attorneys
@@greeneyedsoutherngirl6468 I can understand that but even he agreed that he thought she was guilty.
@@greeneyedsoutherngirl6468my thoughts exactly. Jose Baez is a defense attorney people seem to hate. Yes, he's freed murderers, but I'd rather one murderer go free than one innocent person locked up for 20 years. Ryan Ferguson comes to mind.
That evil monster deserves to be locked up forever....Not 20 yrs.!!!!
I’m sorry but her being hunched over in that demonic fashion hunting for him seriously creeped me out and did it for me. Multiple personalities much?
Yeah, that seemed like wicked mental illness, to me
Yeah and her speaking to the air in that same hunched over position is so creepy, like she was speaking to demons or something
Wonder WTF attracted him to her in the first place. Not to be mean but hot people usually pick other hot people. She must have had a great personality.
Ugh!!! Horrible case. There’s enough proof that she was the aggressor and pure demonic herself!!!
What a tragedy! It would be hard as his family to let the law do its thing when it’s doing nothing!! UGH!

What an inspiration the mother and daughter are just amazing! I hope the rest of your lives are fantastic 😊
20 years is BS 💔

Merci beaucoup, 48 Hours!
This woman has so many tell signs when she is lieing that I do not believe a word she says!!! And Melissa Turner should have gotten life.
*LYING
The second case. The defense attorney's are so disgusting. What happened to just reporting the facts. So the brains of the opperation is walking around free after she admitted to coming up with the plan and being on the walky talky. Way to go justice system.
She stabbed him in the back while he was strangling her? Okay, then... 🥴🤦
That actually is possible if she was held in a way that just allowed her to stab somewhere.
People held in a choke-hold for example often end up stabbing the attacker in the chest.
BUT:
IF he had choked her and held her down in a way that she would only get her arms around him so the stab wound would be on his back..
In that case the angle of the stab wound would be VERY specific so any ME would have been her best witness and could have explained quite well if the angle matched her story.
So it is quite telling the her defense seemingly never hired a ME to verify her claim.
Means: the jury made the right call here.
3rd Story 1:26:29
Even if someone tells you a gun is empty, you always handle it as if it is loaded

Body language… she did it. Bad actress.
Body language is no indication of guilt
If you watch around 29:00 where the prosecutor asks "you now claim you had a head injury?"
Melissa answers yes but is shaking her head no
@@marshapieroni6677
You´re wrong. Body language can be a clear sign of guilt and the sooner you realise this, the better!!!

That's what I hate about the court system. The victim is revictimized. They've already been thru so much trauma and then they're traumatized again.
She was hiding that huge slice in her Palm by wearing those rubber gloves......😮 And she should be arrested for sitting like that with her feet in a weird clubbed way....😂
I think they may have put those on her to preserve evidence
Hahaha ew, they’re so gross…now I can’t stop looking🙈

Sooooo gross. She’s a freaking lying and calculated sociopath.
Pr-titute for the desperate clearly.
She seemed possessed hunched over following behind him like that and then hunched over talking to the door with her back to the camera….. it’s pretty disturbing.

Melissa should have gotten life in prison without parole.
And a person who was married to a gun enthusiast would have known that.
Yea, she may look like Melissa McCarthy but she aint as good at acting
She didn’t believe it was empty. Cold blooded killer that nearly got away with it… I mean look what happened with Baldwin even as a producer with a record of multiple misfires on set and using that family for photo ops to help himself
Why would she point the gun at his head?

Lisa Ramirez' Defense attorney, Herb Weston, is a liar. I wish something could be done to change untruthful damages made in a court of law. What was Weston's response when Butler recanted twenty years later at a parole hearing?
I usually praise defense attorneys for doing their jobs, but Weston _knew_ he was lying and causing ruin to a victim's life.
Michelle and her daugter are extraordinary human beings.
Good on the Mother and Daughter and their forgiveness. I don’t understand it, my heart isn’t like that. I wish it was.

Lawyers like that are so pathetic
In the criminal justice system, the people are judged by two separate yet equally important groups: the defense attorneys, who prosecute the victims and the judges who allow slander culture to thrive under their watch. These are their stories.

Gun afficionado, weapon loaded, or not, I always hear, "...don't point a gun at anyone, not even a toy gun..' since I was a kid.
From baby hood, NEVER NEVER NEVER POINT A GUN AT ANYONE
Basic gun safety. Never point a gun at something you don’t intend to shoot. Treat every gun as if it’s loaded. Know your backstop. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire.
Teach your kids for WHEN (not if) they come across a gun: STOP. Don’t touch. Tell an adult.
"And the Oscar goes to... not Melissa!"

Then she FLEES less than 2 weeks after to Alaska, AND films the journey Documentry style? What got me most was her recording her reunion with her daughter in Alaska sooo
Dramatic. Her poor daughter was only 7 , Shes heard her ENTIRE life only what her mother has drilled into her .. That sweet Girl 🥹 Bless her .. She was in financial distress, didn’t give them marked money !?,? Whyyy ? What if they fled with the kid ?
