Hey Joe. Quick question 04 dt466 Fluttering during accerlation .. I can make a turn and have pedal down to the floor. It takes it about 1 min or so for the fuel to catch up to speed then it's fine. Any thoughts what I should check? Thank you in advance
Hi good mornin. I have 2003 dt466 old style no EGR. It came in with lost power engine light Amber on. Crank start hot or cold. But once hot takes longer to start... If on road engine light camo on and it dies it's self We crank it takes very longer but it start. We put new orings New ICP New Ipr New cam High pressure pump reservoir Its full cold and hot... And run kind very rough. Any ideas to start with..... I haven't check hpop yet. Or fuel pump either You know the psi on those ??

Hey just figured I'd ask, I'm looking at a bus with a dt466e and it's blowing some oil out the valve cover breather? From what I read it could be the intake gasket and spilling boost into the engine? It's got about 130k on it so everyone's said it's not likely a scored cylinder which I know that there's really only one way to really find out... lol

It sounds like u might have high pressure oil rail seal problems brother. Look at the pucks where they meet the injectors. Oil should be trickling not gushing. If one is gushing. Ur seals are bad. That’s what I would check.

cabdaddyb We buy ours at international dealer. We send ours in to get checked and re programmed. If unit is beyond repair. We purchase a new one. That’s for our newer buses. For our older units. We have some spare Econ’s in stock. If I can get the year and model off it’s. I might be able to find u a donor ecm in our stock pile. Last 8 of the vin would help too.
Hey there Napoleon. Ipr for a DT 466 run from 245 to 285. If it’s for a maxforce DT. They run a bit above 300. That’s if u buy them at dealer. I’ve seen some on eBay for about 190. I haven’t tried the ebay ones though. I don’t know if they are worth buying them.
@@JoesBusBarn Thanks. Im thinking thats what I need. Having starting issue when truck is warm and oil thins before an oil change. Not sure if its the pump or not too. I usually spray a lil brake cleaner to crank. Leaning towards an inframe in a month or two..just tired of all the power issues as well
I may be a little off on this one but by what I read. You might want to pull valve cover off. Start engine and look to see how much oil pressure is lost at the oil rail to injector seals. That might be causing your hard to start. Since u will have rockers exposed. Run your rack. Adjust your valve lash. That might give you more time to prep for that in frame u r thinking about.
@@JoesBusBarn ok will try that. I had to be towed yest for something electrical. Changed the harness by the fan that was failing and locking out ac. Now all kinds of lights come on dash after I shut off. Have to pull fuse n put it back and lights go off. Has me dumbfounded. Out of my league

Check oil pressure sensor and connector. Driver side engine right behind HPOP on cylinder block sidewall. I take it your engine oil pressure is the one dropping. Or is it your high pressure oil that drops.
@Joe’s Bus Barn engine oil pressure at 50psi resvor oil full and alots off pressure ipr was by pass with 12 volt to see if high pressure pump was working it made around 1500 psi and and then drops to 400 300 and engine dies
