- Samadhi is a state of total absorption in meditation that is the goal of Indian Music. For thousands of years, countless generations of masters have passed this sacred spiritual knowledge to their disciples.
Indian Classical music is based on "raga" which is a traditional form of melodic improvisation. The spontaneous exploration of all the variations of the melody can bring a performer into a state of samadhi or deep meditation where the music flows through them as if on its own. Ragas and Indian music can be thought of as a spiritual technology of meditation. Through disciplined practice, also called sadhana, musicians can learn to attain a state of samadhi when they play.
Take a deep breath and allow this music to take you on a spiritual journey into a state of samadhi meditation. Or use it to inspire your yoga practice. The important thing is to show up for your own sadhana, in whatever form that takes.
The music in this video was performed on bansuri (Indian flute), sitar, sarod, and tabla. Bansuri is a bamboo flute traditionally associated with the Hindu god Krishna. Sitar is a long-necked instrument with many strings that was made popular in the Western world by Ravi Shankar. Sarod is a fretless short-necked string instrument with a bridge mounted on a resonating membrane similar to that of a banjo. Tabla is a pair of small drums played virtuosically with the fingers.

In 2009, I traveled to Varanasi, India to study with 14th generation master musician Pandit Vikash Maharaj. For two months, I lived with my teacher and his family and my days were totally devoted to practicing Indian Classical music. It was a period of deep personal and creative exploration. At the end of the journey, we went into the studio and recorded this album in one take. With no overdubs or second chances, this recording is an honest document of a moment in time. It is a portrait of a guru and his closest disciples walking their Paths together.

Or.. We are blessed by such an abundance of this content so easily accessible on TH-cam. Were we to be in meditation for its peaceful aspects alone we would be caught in yet another trap. The commercial being able to take hold of our emotions reveals to us we are still attached to our anger, despair, or sadness. The commercial is yet another step to show us where exactly we are not yet free. It is maybe an opportunity to conquer the chain’s invisible to us.
If you come here because you need that little bit of peace, let me tell you please don't give up. You have to keep fighting. That stronger, faster, better you is waiting at the end of whatever battle you're fighting. It's not the end. It's only the beginning. You have to get up. Despite the numerous times you've been slammed into the ground you have to dust yourself off and ask "is that all you got?" Because you're strong. Know it. Own it. Trust me, I know. And if you have to go down, go down fighting with everything you've got. Never stop fighting. Please. I'm sure someday we will meet and show our battle scars and talk about how we made it. This is quite possibly the most calming piece of music I have listened to my entire life.
All of the people around the world has finally started to live a happy, healthy, peaceful, prosperous , generous and energetic lives right now. Apart from that they started to explore this very life in full depth with the grace of God and with the grace of Guru. The most wonderful Meditation music I have ever heard so far!!!!! I have been experienced the deep meditation stage long before sitting on my own in an absolute quiet place!!!!! The moment of Enlightenment has been experienced by me when a sudden burst of a aqua-chakra forcefully started moving, appeared on my forehead!!!!! not knowing exactly what I was experiencing, I opened my eyes being scared!!!! Since that time I have experienced that deep meditation 'Bliss' many times!!!!!

I am very fond of this piece of music, all the melodious notes help me connect to myself, really makes me cry and I could feel His presence. But from last few months, I don't feel like listening to it, accepted this with heavy heart as it is really disheartened to get that link snapped due to constant commercial popping up in between. Today, I again played it after a long gap, as I was really missing it from last few days, but it's the same disruption now also while doing yoga and Pranayam. So materialistic notes are there every where, at least the title should be changed from meditational music to something else, I would suggest. A loads thanks, though for sharing this wonderful piece.

Don't believe anyone of them. They were charlatans. Modern era hocus pocus. That's what rendered today's kid useless and Hinduism is made fun off. Dharma is universal principles. I usually to point out a common trait of all religions I tell them the different names a same diety carries at different part of the world. Because everyone says like Christians it comes often to Abraham line. For Muslims it's Ibrahim. For ancient Egypt it's RA. For Hindus it's Lord Ram. Old Latin is Avram.
This takes research. After job and looking after my family most of my time is spent on researching this. Hobby.
