when designers in a game trouble themselves to make Cloud adjust his sword so he can sit on a bench, well, those devs and designers got my respect.
yeah, but sadly the whole thing is kinda ruined again when the tip of the sword just phases trough the vending machine that stands next to the bench
that detail, but whoever was on textures was sleeping on the job, the slums are awful XD like clouds door looks like it came out of DOOM

At one point in the game he was literally going to fall to his death and he still refused to let go of his sword and use both hands to save himself, hahaha.
Couldn't believe they finally make a spinoff of that Cloud character from Kingdom Hearts series.

I know this comment is old, but I experienced this issue the most during the first Abzul fight in the sewers (I think that's the monster's name). Sludge would spew from the vents and I could see Tifa and Aerith blocking and backing away in prep for it, but they weren't moving fast enough. After they got hit by it and instantly died one too many times (especially on hard mode, where it covers even more of the field), I began manually switching to Aerith and Tifa and making them run wherever I had Cloud.
I did appreciate that the game at least tried to protect them, though. I sometimes got mixed up in that fight and Cloud fell victim to the sludge. So, by watching Tifa and Aerith (or whomever I wasn't controlling), I could tell a little better what side to move to.

played the OG, anyone that looked into the lore of ff7 knows everything in this game was the devs original ideas for ff7 but tech was not good enough to do it. no timeline bs in it.

Similarly, I’ve never played any final fantasy games, I just know 7 via Team 4Star’s machinabridged series. this is very common amongst journalists mostly, what they are actually trying to say is "Normal mode is to hard"
I think specifically for ff7r the issue is that if you want to play it in classic mode. So just selecting spells/ special attacks or items. The game auto defaults to easy mode. Probably because in those cases you let the AI do the in between fighting and it is not good enough to do harder modes.

Look, not gonna lie, the hard fanservice with Cloud and nearly every guy he came across just made my fangirl heart soar.
My sister and I cannot stop talking about how much... subtle and NOT so subtle flirts were going on what with EVERY guy seemingly being into Cloud, we are still going crazy over all this actually happening and us NOT imagining it XD
I’m just glad there are actually girls who like this game now, even if it’s only because of subtle homosexuality.
@@DanTheManGruen Plenty of girls have always liked FF7 long before that, lol. And even with the "subtle homosexuality" in Advent Children, for example, it was still considered a flop for Square Enix (which shocked me. I can understand the original, rushed version, but the Complete version was much better), so even that isn't all that's cared about. I won't lie and say the attractiveness of a bunch of guys isn't a selling point of the franchise now and SE has to know that. But the story and gameplay is also GOOD, especially with Remake. It's nice to have a good, story-driven game that isn't over the top difficult like the Souls series everyone raves about and doesn't require precision aiming with guns (a weapon choice I feel already alienates a lot of girls, especially as it's coupled with the image of toxic "gamer bros").
In short, a lot of games have always been heavily targeted to guys, so I think this is why FF7's franchise has such a high female player base. It feels a little like something finally made with us in mind, without it being some condescending "girl game", like with Barbie or something 😅. Those are just my takes, though. Any ladies reading this, please feel free to chime in with your reasons on why FF7 pulled you in.
I love the fact that you guys actually finished the game before putting this out, and somehow managed to not spoil the plot.

Look at the bright side: if Midgar (5 hours) were [admissible] padded into 35. How long will the rest be? The original is 80 hours? 80 -5 = 75 75 * 7 = 525 hours for the remaining parts :D
Which is what makes this game boring. Cramming a full game into 5 hours of story was a bad call. I wish they would've just added more of the story instead.

@@PedroOliveira-sl6nw Eh, I think one thing that gets lost in the whole bit of nostalgia is that the original FF7 really wasn't a three-disc game other than technically. It terms of actual narrative advancement, Midgar alone took up a very large chunk of it. This remake could very easily be done in four games if they wanted to and not really have to cut anything other than the massive amounts of fluff that ironically padded out the original.
That said, it's a Nomura-led project, so expect it to take ten games over the next fifteen years, six of them regarding unnecessary side stories and alternate timelines that don't really do anything but waste time.

@@sub.sa.3058 I'm a KH fan but when I saw that boss I was like, that's not a FF type of boss. What's worse is that it just sits in the background taunting you. Theres definitely people overreacting about it though, I'm not gonna hate a whole game because of like 5-10% of it is nonsense.
Let’s be honest the PS1 era villians of Final Fantasy are all rather nonsensical in terms of motivating. Nomura didn’t really have to do anything to make him as such.
I like to think it's a Legacy of Kain situation. They did time-travel really well in those games despite a few oddities. (Looking at you Blood Omen 2).
@@thelinedrive for me it's like when I think of the world of ff7, I dont think these people can just travel into a different dimension and fight fate. I didnt mind the whispers at first cause I thought they were just there to represent the lifestream of the planet trying to maintain the timeline to protect itself maybe, but the arbiter of fate is so random for this world.
When Cloud was in the dress talking to Tifa and said “Nailed it! I know. Thank you.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 These characters have way more personality with this remake 👍

I love this remake. And this game got my husband into the final fantasy series. After he beat the game. He's playing ff7 cc on psp right now. He's wondering when part 2 will come out. Haha my husband only complain about too many cut scenes but when the cut scenes come on. He tells me to shut up. Haha

It was intentional I think. Cloud spends a lot of the game trying to act cool like a SOLDIER would but failing. This was him trying to comfort Jessie and just coming across like a dork.

@@mikhailvarkovsky4150 It's okay! aoe = area of effect. It basically means an area that has an effect going on in it. If it is an aoe that damages you, it's one you should probably generally get out of unless you wanna take damage for some reason(s).

As someone who had never played the original, I really enjoyed the remake. I'm currently playing the original, and though I do love it I think the way the remake was done is a better fit for a modern RPG considering that most RPGs nowadays have lots of dialogue and exploring between plot points, whereas the original FFVII, though it does have some parts like that also tends to jump from one plot point to another quite abruptly (I say this as someone who grew up on modern RPGs, so I'm more used to the way modern games are formatted)
That "Mike Tyson trying to say Aeris" one must've went waaaay over some heads, because that one was HILARIOUS to me. 😂

@@daniellins4114 That's actually in line, since in both cases the lines being referenced draw attention to the bittersweet realization the best moments between these groups of people who only had a short time to bond involved sharing food.

Shawn Shuman But if you don’t like it, you’re just a hater. This game is a MASTERPIECE!!! Jokes aside, I feel that FF7R fans are being kinda hypocrites. I bet they made fun KH fans for liking the story of the game, now they are getting the same in their game and is suddenly great storytelling.
Well, Its more like the last 30 minutes. That's really the only major difference. As for their comment about Sephiroth being like Xehanort. That's how it always was. Everytime you saw him in the first game, It wasnt his body. He would use Jenova to take form. And we knew their were remnants with Jenova cells as well. But they never went much into them in the original. The first time you actually see Sephiroths real body in the original game is when Cloud hands over the black materia at the promised land. Even when Aerith gets killed. Sephiroths mind, Jenovas body.
@@ssantos88 I basically agree, I actually took time to read some of the reviews people were leaving and they were literally giving 0's because they didn't like the very last part of the game, not that all of em are like that but, is it really a 0 if you enjoyed the hell out of 99% of the game?
KeeperOfDGroove Those people are clearly over exaggerating. Regardless of the ending, a lot of people still enjoy the game overall. Giving it a zero is just petty.

omg real tea, some of the honest descriptions are so true! The tea about Nomura making the story more convoluted with time-travelling(confirmed? idk) plot, heartless-esque watchers and Xehanort Sephiroth lmao, I really thought of that ngl and I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it. The references used for the characters are so on point too, my favs are - Megaman ref "Black Megaman", FF15 ref "I've come up with a new Materia", TWEWY ref "Recycled Shiki design", RPDR ref? "Andrea you staya", freaking "Mr Worldwide" Pitbull ref too real I can't, FMA ref "Shou Tucker".

The ending may have been polarizing but the game was so good and I'm genuinely excited about what the next chapter will have in store. Not dwelling about what it was and looking forward to what it could sums up the game pretty well.
