  • Yamaha B1 upright acoustic piano Vs Kawai K15 upright acoustic piano..
    Here we have Graham Blackledge demonstrating to you a Yamaha B1 compared to a Kawai K15 piano.
    These pianos are both massively popular, are well made and look amazing. They have a completely different sound. I would say the Kawai k15 is a bit more mellow in tone compared to the Yamaha B1, but they are both equally excellent pianos and great value for money.
    Which do you like best?

    I hear the very biggest difference on "Always On My Mind". Yamaha is more dynamic, loud, bright, tinny sounding. But there is something alluring to the Kawai too. But in these 2 models, the Yamaha wins for me, surprisingly. I usually gravitate to darker, deeper tones in instruments.

      Agreed. For whatever strange reason, the Yamaha is significantly more emotionally appealing to me, though I also gravitate towards darker piano sounds.

    I’m a kawai fan all the way but I have to admit, some pieces you played sounded better on the Yamaha, while others better suited the kawai.
    It would be interesting hearing a melancholic piece in a minor key in a Yamaha/kawai duel but I know I’m a year late to this party 😔
    Thank you for a great video, nonetheless!

    I don't know how you hooked up the 2 piano but those 2 small piano sounded way better than when I tested them at the store. The Yamaha sounded pretty good in that video.

    The yamaha has a thicker sound . The k15 is brighter. Personally I like the yamaha better. Both good 👍 . Thks for demo!

      Yamaha is definitely brighter. Those low tones on the Kawai are much warmer.

    I am 14 years old and playing the piano is my pure passion. I am looking seriously to get a real piano after having a digital one all my life, would the yamaha b1 be a good purchase as that is the one i have been looking at the most?

    • @gojida2207
      @gojida2207 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both the k15 and b1 are great instruments and you would not be disappointed with either. The choice would come down to what you think is better. I'd advise you to, if possible, try both out. However, if that isn't possible and you are leaning toward the b1, I would say that is a great choice (having had the opportunity to play one myself.)

      @@mfurman no i meant it sounded like a toy piano for children not like a real upright piano. I don't know, if the JU109 has a drastic lower quality than the B1 aimed at the North American market..but the JU109 I tried was a joke of a piano

    this video is practically worthless by not commenting or comparing these on Price. They are competitors and both competitive, but by ignoring the price you hold back one of the most important factors in the actual consideration.
    Furthermore I would not venture to your shop if you are going to be deceptive and conceal such vital information.

      The Kawai lists at about $6500 the Yamaha at about $5400 U.S. per PianoPricePoint website
