- The last day of Doha’s defence expo DimDex has highlighted Turkey as a key player in military exports.
And no other weapon demonstrates Turkey’s growth in effective weapons systems, like the Barayktar TB2 combat drone.
It's been used to deadly effect by Ukraine's military against Russia.

They said that it wasn't that powerful or effective. It's more like a low budget drone with cool relatively high quality features. Must've become a meme after it's been one of the main digital and remote controlled weapons used in a couple of recent wars.
@@pollytix7271 The power of this drone depends on how you use it. It is mid range because it only carries 4 missiles, but it can direct ground-based rocket-launched missiles as well, and in that case you have a very capable system.

@@haashaas2508 it depends what system they use because there is a long range radar and that is working best in detecting large objects in the air but the short range radars has much more accuracy and is more sensitive to catch signals from smaller flying object such as drones and missiles

My country (Bangladesh) ordered Bayrakhtar TB 2 drones from Turkey and some other weapons. Bangladesh also purchased missile systems from Turkey. Defense ties with Turkey and Bangladesh are getting better day by day. Economic and political relations are also getting better. I hope Turkey to rise.

Ваше сообщение смешно. Да, в Армении "Байрактары" добились определенного эффекта, но только из-за плохой подготовки расчетов ПВО. Повторить свой успех в Ливии они уже не смогли. Я не говорю про Украину, где 9 из 10 "Байрактаров" уничтожили, когда они не смогли сделать даже выстрел. Это медленный дрон с довольно плохим вооружением, которое имеет радиус применение всего лишь 8 километров, когда тот же "Панцирь" - больше 20 километров. Армии России эти дроны не доставили практически никаких неприятностей. На поле боя все так же лишь один бог - артиллерия (реактивная или ствольная).

As an old Bayraktar Engineer, we worked hard upto 11 pm everyday, now to see good results.
We developed in Syria , and Azerbaijan against Russian Army and now its fruits can be seen even full control air of Russians in Ukraine , it is using effectly, we developed Tb2 in every war that joined.

That’s because turkey continues to buy Russian military equipment. S400s. And related radar systems. United States was heavily invested w turkey in a f35 program , and drone development, all USA wanted was turkey to stop buying Russian weapon systems. They said no , so USA took the f35 development along w other military equipment, and left .

I think as a Turk, being great in optimization is our way. We will continue making products that are not the best, not the worst, but do the job with an optimum price and conditions. By the way, it is the hardest thing in engineering.

Turkey has always been exceptional. The British really grew to respect them in WWl. An excellent combination of guts and know-how.
Good and affordable is as equally valuable as the very best is. If it gets shot down it is far cheaper to replace making more military funding available for other things a modern military will need. Then being it is good it isn't a waste of funds. It's why every main battle rifle for the US that gets trialed fails, the AR platform is plenty good enough while newer more advanced weapons are more expensive but with less advantage for the costs. It's why the Browning M2 machine gun is still in service. It's why the MP5 is still so popular.
Probably the best approach; the U.S builds fancy top tier weapons for Saudi Arabia, Israel and other rich countries.
Turkey builds mid tier weapons to poorer countries. Great business strategy.
Every advantage can determine the course of the war..

@@jakubyjak7151 yes liberate because that territory is internationally recognized part of Azerbaijan which was under occupation. So by reclaiming that part Azerbaijan did "Liberate" it.
Just for your information : in Azerbaijan war it was the Israeli drone Harup that took out Armenian air defences , after all air defence were destroyed then bayraktar was used as it's unable to protect itself from air defenses. IAI Harup is a specialised drone to take out air defenses.
@@akshaykkulkarni6100 Nope, its not like that. I guess you know some information about these drones I will try to make you understand more. IAI Harop and Harpy have been in service in Turkish Army too. These suicide (kamikaze) drones have very weak electro optics for surveillance from higher altitudes and from lower altitudes they are very vunarable to short range air defence systems, manpads and also anti aircrafts . They also have, IIR, TV seekers but IIR and TV is only succesfull until the suicide drone is in the range of eye sight like 3-4 km so its very difficult to find these air defence systems by Harops. As the last option there is anti radiation warhead of these drones but it can only work when the search radar is active because it looks for the radiation of the radar. In Azerbaycan they used over 50 years old Antonov planes as target plane and than hit the air defence radars with harop. Also Bayraktar TB2 has a quite long range electro optics(50 km range from 8 km altitude), very small and usefull point EW systems(to cheat the air defence radars) and even a SAR radar to findout any kind of air defence system location. Azerbaycan used old Antonovs as target plane and than Harop or Bayraktar TB2 as recon than Harop. There are also lots of air defence system like OSA, TOR, BUK, S300 which has been hit by TB2 while their radars are active by MAM-L amunition. You can check via youtube videos.

The Harup drone is specially designed for SEAD missions and only after SEAD you can operate drones like bayraktar which have absolutely no protection from air defence systems.
Western military technology has now become so advanced that there are no enemies advanced enough for many of these weapons to be useful.
The weapons that Turkey designs and builds are more suited for real life enemies. We can see how effective they are in Ukraine.
"Advanced" is a way of inflating prices when you have exclusive arms deals (ie Nato). The realities are different which is why the US never went up against Russia and restricted itself to barking against a wall. The Russian numbers overwhelming strategy is now out dated. I see swarms of small drones and small stealthy missiles in the future working in tandem. Imagine Ukraine being hit all over day or days before tanks and men roll across border. Ukrainian men and equip would fear even being outside. Future will this. It is obvious as rain in wet from this war and the drones effect.

Turkey has better drones but TB2 are so effective and cheap. Can protect itself from electronic warfare and small signature in radars also it can shot down its engines at operational area like gliders. Open engines for few seconds and shots down again so in radars it can seen but also not seen. There is no time to lock them until TB2's finish their job. When you manage to hit control towers. AI can take control to search for posssible targets and can return base. His computers learn the flight zone and they can return suitable aircraft bases sometimes they can land to civil roads. Very complex AI.

There is nothing special about it.
It is effective and cost-effective and proven in battle.
But it doesn't have any magical properties. It is not some sort of wonder weapon.

I think Russia only downed 3 of them in this war whilst these drones have destroyed hundreds of Russian vehicles including air defence systems such as Pantsir that costs 3 times as much as a tb2. The thing that makes them special and undetectable isn't just because of small size, but because they use really good jammers and EW. The buk and pantsirs can detect the tb2 but can't get a lock and as a result they become sitting ducks.
Same thing goes for stealth fighters as well. They can get detected by low frequency search radars but can't get locked on by targeting radars and can't fire at them.

The best advertising was done in in Norgorno-Karabakh. They had many more drones than Ukraine and along with with Israeli drones helped Azeribaijan win a war they lost 30 years ago. This drone is literally changing history and re-writing maps. You can see TH-cam compilations about how devastating they were.

TB2 has much more stealthy which the others are not. And their price is very attractive. Their combat proven beyond meausure. So no surprise they are so shought after.

Bomb-carrying drones like the tb2 and smaller kamikaze drones are changing the course of wars. tb2 is in many ways more effective than flashy US drones. While expensive American drones with jet engines can be easily spotted by air defense systems, TB2 can easily bypass these systems.
