Please do an instructional vid on just converting a fixed gear mower to a mower with an accelerator / gas pedal setup. You guys could explain it in five minutes. And what parts to buy, too. Keep up the good work.
Mike McCabe twin would be absolutely stupid The trike has enough trouble spinning one This thing would have enough trouble spinning 1 + twin turbos is absolutely stupid anyway Unless you're cfm limited and at the largest turbo you can fit Or can't intercool It's stupid and more often than not hurts performance compared to a single turbo Unless you absolutely need it It's more to go wrong More work Less benefits Can hurt performance Etc
I would get rid of the mower steering altogether and go with a solid steering setup, it works in the official mower racing for a reason and it would be both safer and stronger. Also instead of jackshafts you could flip and reverse the axle itself to achieve the old drive line angle, also smaller tires in the back (less is more). One last thing do a brake and clutch pedal and a hand throttle on the steering wheel, not really speed related but just so you have some from of control.
Isaac! At 2:52 if you guys flip the tie rod end joint to mount to the bottom of the spindle instead of the top side of that arm it should help some of the sketchy steering.
you guys inspire me so much to do my own build! i got one in the works ill post the build specs when it is complete! keep up the good videos and good works guys! itll be fine! lol
hey guys i raced mowers in the past. you can flip the rear end upside down and line up the pulleys then bolt it to the chassis. you have to rig up a shift linkage though.
I.C. karting I didn't say I've never seen a racing mower. I've seen some crazy ones, just never a lowered one. It might look like a hack but I doubt they were looking to make it beautiful.
Not sure what u mean by that... The organization I race with will not allow u on the track with a mower that isn't as low as possible. Safety priorities are the seat must not be taller than 12", BRAKES! And proper steering geometry ie: caster, sai.. also the stock steering box is junk.. just total hacks.. they need to stick to bolting store bought go karts together before they hurt someone
I.C. karting First off, they aren't going to let some Joe shmoe walk up and ride it, they are building it for fun. Second, they aren't building it to a certain race spec. They are building it for fun. I've never been to, or will go to a professional lawn mower race, we used to have drag races in town where people brought anything from stock tractors minus a deck, to a fully built V6 powered tractor. Let these guys have their fun, if they hurt themselves, so be it.
I don't want to tell you guys what to do. I believe that the drivers seat should be lower in the chassis and a latch so it doesn't come free. It should add some rigidity to the structure. Not sure about cornering. Different gear ratiots for the rack and pinion?
I don't see how you guys always make it (it being whatever your working on) work lol. you guys are awesome though. I've built a 55mph race kart with your help. now I'm working on a 120mph shifter. :)
Are you extending the fenders with some sheet metal or cutting them off?? I'm sure you guys will come up with something rad. Happy new year, may it bring you luck!
you should put the biggest gokart motor on it (22hp) and gokart pedals on it where the feet go so you have better control of it and rebuild the rear end so it will take off better also put a wheelie bar on it also put gokart tiers on it so it will be even more lowered.
flip the rear upside down its a grease filled rear you'll be able to ran it no problem with the belt setup just get a tighter tension spring build these things all the time best way to do it
your twitchy steering is because when you dropped the front end and re welded you had to much toe out this causes to happen Great job fella's keep up the good work
This project still ended up turning out to be awesome but I still think ya should of turned this into an off-road wheelie machine and kept the high suspension! Love The Build none the less
u can put atv handle bars so u can throttle without having one hand down there. also this kind of tractor will sound exactly like an ATV with a full length exhaust out the back (no muffler).
I have made my mower with a safety switch on the seat witch attaches to the coil wire when you get thrown off it shuts down the mower mount a switch on the dash to buy pass it when working off the cart
You should just use a go kart axle and predator 212 chain and torque converter and narrow the hood take 3 or 4 inches out of the middle. Oh and the front axle you should have got some square tubing made like a miniature drop axle like a T bucket has would require a little more fab work but you could get it right on the ground that way.
I know this is an older video but I have an Ariens mower just like this one and at stock ride height and no brakes I did 41 mph. Stock motor and stock rear end
i want to do some suspension mods on my Murray racing mower instead of having the factory suspension i want to see if i could use some old mini bike shocks or mountain bike shocks
I thought for sure you guys would extend the frame forwards and hang the front axle junk so it would sit way lower. kind of like "Rad Rodding" the thing. Really lowering the rear is going to be quite the challenge. How to do it without converting it into a go kart???!!! The wheelbase also needs to be widened somehow instead of cutting into the body for front wheel clearance!! Rear wheel fender need to go and be remade altogether.
scratch the stock rear axel, install a T drive, like you put on the rat rod wagon, and put in a straight Axel (live axel) you're guaranteed to get the mph out of it. probably more than you want.
use the 6 inch tires from the front of the mower. put them on a set of 6x8 gokart wheels and use them on the rear. put a set of regular racing gokart slicks on the front.
will you at cars and cameras grace me with advice? I'm almost done building an old streaker and I'm looking at adding power, but with a stipulation. My buddy has a kart with a 6.5 Predator and a torque converter and his was too fast and I rolled it going 30. I want acceleration at the expense of top speed. Should I get the 6.5 and no torque converter? Or keep the 5hp Briggs I have and get a converter for that?
you need the torq converter for acceleration. play with the gear ratio for the desired top speed. the bigger the rear sprocket the more torq coming off the line
oh yeah they make crazy power:0 butt i think then you have to build a new frame from scratch because this frame will collapse with an engine like that :))
Please do an instructional vid on just converting a fixed gear mower to a mower with an accelerator / gas pedal setup. You guys could explain it in five minutes. And what parts to buy, too. Keep up the good work.
5 years ago 😭😭😭😭 is your mower good now?
@@zsleepywarsz hhaahahahhah
Yay! Then foot clutch and gas. Like how FearlessFront does it.
3:13 wheelie bar on the pocket bike sighted! Looks like fun! Heha
cars and cameras you are my favorite TH-cam channel and you are my idol my rolmodol and you inspire me to do what I do.
thanks. hope we don't let you down
thanks
I've been watching C&C for about 24 straight hours now! Getting some good inspiration for my current rust bucket!!!
John what's with you and trees?
Cars and Karts yeah ffs :D
Cars and Karts jeb bush
John luvs him some shrubbery
dj beard lul
Cars and Karts he loves bush
Annnnnd heres where the channel blows up, been watchin for 3 years and its about time
I've recently discovered your channel and me and my 2 yr old son have watched every episode. love the dragster. keep the videos coming
put one of those small engine turbos on it.
The turbo from the drift trike
Marius G imagine how insane this thing would look going sideways
Ravingwolf TWIN Turbo it.. I've seen single turbo'd mowers but i haven't seen a compound turbo'd mower yet
Mike McCabe twin would be absolutely stupid
The trike has enough trouble spinning one
This thing would have enough trouble spinning 1
+ twin turbos is absolutely stupid anyway
Unless you're cfm limited and at the largest turbo you can fit
Or can't intercool
It's stupid and more often than not hurts performance compared to a single turbo
Unless you absolutely need it
It's more to go wrong
More work
Less benefits
Can hurt performance
Etc
MyLonewolf25 lmao you care way too much about TH-cam comments. Stop being such a try hard
Man do I love all your build series there all so cool when I'm older I want to have projects like you guys
Will Junger then how old are u ?
just don't make better videos then us. lol
Looking good fellas... can't wait to see the driveline.
that looks awesome! looking forward to seeing where this goes
You got the old pooplan looking nice . 👌
You guys are inspire me to do stupid stuff been watching the channel for over a year keep it up It'll be fine
Classic John, just crashing around in trees and bushes!
One last thing do a brake and clutch pedal and a hand throttle on the steering wheel, not really speed related but just so you have some from of control.
it sounds like it has straight cut gears i love it
how do you guys make this look so easy
lol. editing! lots and lots of editing! lol
Isaac! At 2:52 if you guys flip the tie rod end joint to mount to the bottom of the spindle instead of the top side of that arm it should help some of the sketchy steering.
it's so twitchy because with the back stock ride height and the front lowered it has caster in the wrong direction :P
it is still twitchie. but we will fix it
if you're feeling ambitious you could add caster and camber plates and make it real nice
Isaac it'll be fine Stretch it! You've got the rear end off already. It'll look cool and the extra wheelbase helps with stability.
Not just that, but by raising the axle in relation to the kingpin without changing the offset/kingpin angle, the scrub radius went through the roof.
Nice guys it's comming along great
you guys inspire me so much to do my own build! i got one in the works ill post the build specs when it is complete! keep up the good videos and good works guys! itll be fine! lol
Thanks Go Power Sports
Someone has some money, damn! Nice place, nice toys!
U should rocket bunny it next. 😂 jk loved the vid
Frank Serota 🔰😂
It feels like Christmas every day that I discover a new C&C vid has been uploaded.
That race mower is beast
I have to ask, as I'm sure others have...my first thought was just invert the front swingarm?
hey guys i raced mowers in the past. you can flip the rear end upside down and line up the pulleys then bolt it to the chassis. you have to rig up a shift linkage though.
i love you guys your my inspiration to do funny things you guys really are a smile to a lot of people
thanks
of course dude if u all ever need anything let me know
look at my Chanel I made the same mini bike you guys are the best inspiration
That's a first for me, never seen a lowered mower before. Looks pretty cool!
really? racing mowers are nothing new even on utube and this is a total hack...
I.C. karting I didn't say I've never seen a racing mower. I've seen some crazy ones, just never a lowered one. It might look like a hack but I doubt they were looking to make it beautiful.

thanks for sticking up for us

sweet. be careful
is it me or the the lawnmower has a grin on it's face! that's a lean and mean looking machine!
Weld in some sheet metal to keep the shape of the rear fenders. Essentially a wide body, haha
My thoughts exactly.
Is Ike wearing tampons for ear plugs?
paper towels
Just a thought, what about just turning the spindle up side down? Would that lower it to much?
You guys do the coolest stuff keep up the great videos.
Are you extending the fenders with some sheet metal or cutting them off?? I'm sure you guys will come up with something rad. Happy new year, may it bring you luck!
thanks. we wound up cutting them off
Cool. Just curious. When you pulled it outside and said you were welding front axle up, did you weld it solid to the frame?
That front end looks similar to the craftsman mower I'm restoring. Does craftsman make these??
alot of the older craftsman LT series are almost identical to that model Poulon tractor.
Almost all non-commercial riding mowers sold in the US are manufactured by MTD.
SickenedSparrow you can get almost any part for any craftsman mowers at sears.com
you should put the biggest gokart motor on it (22hp) and gokart pedals on it where the feet go so you have better control of it and rebuild the rear end so it will take off better also put a wheelie bar on it also put gokart tiers on it so it will be even more lowered.
You guys deserve way more subs like honestly such great vids
thanks
weight reduction bro! awesome vids 💪
I can never follow Ike's thinking but it always works !!
I cant help but see your miata in this mower especially the front end
I have been waiting for this one!
Love what you're doing !
Keep the videos coming
flip the rear upside down its a grease filled rear you'll be able to ran it no problem with the belt setup just get a tighter tension spring build these things all the time best way to do it
your twitchy steering is because when you dropped the front end and re welded you had to much toe out this causes to happen
Great job fella's keep up the good work
Omg God that mower looked right into my soul at 1:35
1:24 AYY AYY CAPTAIN!!!
This project still ended up turning out to be awesome but I still think ya should of turned this into an off-road wheelie machine and kept the high suspension! Love The Build none the less
where can I get some off you guy's decals to put on my mower?
i personally would have flipped the axle upside down and fit it in but i have 2 of my own and youll be challenged to a race.
Mudd Boss
flipping it, that would've been smart..
That was exactly my thought. Way easier than what they did.
wouldn't you just go fast backwards after the flip :D
jaketinx no
Mudd Boss
Can you do more of the lawn mower videos please?
awesome lawnmower now it just needs race kart wheels
What if you just cut the notch in the frame would that still lower it without welding in the flat bar? Answer asap
great video I was still wondering if y'all could tell me where that junk yard was?
u can put atv handle bars so u can throttle without having one hand down there. also this kind of tractor will sound exactly like an ATV with a full length exhaust out the back (no muffler).
Why would you not flip the rear transaxle so it still lines up and not have any jack shafts?
I have made my mower with a safety switch on the seat witch attaches to the coil wire when you get thrown off it shuts down the mower mount a switch on the dash to buy pass it when working off the cart
wide body and wrap it also street tires and bring it to events after all thats done!
@CarsandCameras what ultimately was the problem with the starter?
Would I be able to buy that frame hanging in the intro were you say man that thing is awesome
I don't think so.thats talors kart. he is working on it
You should just use a go kart axle and predator 212 chain and torque converter and narrow the hood take 3 or 4 inches out of the middle. Oh and the front axle you should have got some square tubing made like a miniature drop axle like a T bucket has would require a little more fab work but you could get it right on the ground that way.
Y'all should make the deck position lever into the shifter. It'd be pretty cool
I know this is an older video but I have an Ariens mower just like this one and at stock ride height and no brakes I did 41 mph. Stock motor and stock rear end
I NEED TO SEE IT GO
I see that wheelie bar back there.
How many grinding wheels were used in the making of this video?
Flipping and reversing the transaxle is the easiest way to get your lower stance and still use the stock belt setup
yes sir.
i want to do some suspension mods on my Murray racing mower instead of having the factory suspension i want to see if i could use some old mini bike shocks or mountain bike shocks
could you guys please do a detailed video on specifically lowering the front and rear on a lawnmower???
5y we need it
When John said 90 mph and Ike looked at him just like pure disgust, “190 miles an hour”
could you guys try to put a car body gokart cover frame over it like a 32 ford?
I thought for sure you guys would extend the frame forwards and hang the front axle junk so it would sit way lower. kind of like "Rad Rodding" the thing. Really lowering the rear is going to be quite the challenge. How to do it without converting it into a go kart???!!! The wheelbase also needs to be widened somehow instead of cutting into the body for front wheel clearance!! Rear wheel fender need to go and be remade altogether.
You can also flip the whole front steering and axle
learn a lot from yall ! might put something together myself now hah
When you fix up the steering, you might want to think about making it adjustable. The twitchiness was caused by the front tyres not being parallel.
Nice ear plugs, Ike.
Hi, my brother and I have a two seat yerf dog. We have a 212 predator in it. Should we up grade to a 420. Keep up the good work. Thanks
ill tell you when I put a new 212 on mine if it needs a 420. lol. ill be messing with it this winter
scratch the stock rear axel, install a T drive, like you put on the rat rod wagon, and put in a straight Axel (live axel) you're guaranteed to get the mph out of it. probably more than you want.
oh, and BMI KARTS, is a lot cheaper than go powersports
use the 6 inch tires from the front of the mower. put them on a set of 6x8 gokart wheels and use them on the rear. put a set of regular racing gokart slicks on the front.
do a real build on a race mower. im building one for the first time and am have a great time doing it. id love to see you guys build one.
You guys should upload a lil more I really enjoy your videos
I would wonder what would of happened if you just took the axle out and turned it over.
I know what I’m doing during this quarantine
looks amazing!
U should get some maxima sc1 high gloss detailer will make that mower look brand new
Push the rear axle aft the rear chassis, weld up a rear sub-frame (plenty of meat to weld on) and slam the seat, as low as the drive belt will allow.
lol. drive belt is about 1 inch below seat mount
Take the transaxle off and split it open and out all the thick grease and replace it with some gear oil or ATF it'll last longer then
will you at cars and cameras grace me with advice? I'm almost done building an old streaker and I'm looking at adding power, but with a stipulation. My buddy has a kart with a 6.5 Predator and a torque converter and his was too fast and I rolled it going 30. I want acceleration at the expense of top speed. you need the torq converter for acceleration. play with the gear ratio for the desired top speed. the bigger the rear sprocket the more torq coming off the line
What if you would’ve cut the front axel off then put it back in upside down?
I have a throttle petal made my summit racing that does quite well so that you can have a full range of rpm
When did out a wheelie bar on the mini bike?
Put some fenders on the front
I think we’re the only ones who watch this and Matt 😂😂
I was thinking for lowering the front just take the bolt of pull the end out and put it in upside down and then put the bolt on and it's lower
Now why did you not just flip the front steering assembly upsidown to fully lower it
Flip and rotate the rear Diff ( Pulley on bottom)
Looking good!! reinforce the frame and put a bigger motor in it:))
knoflook46 aka a snowmobile engine
oh yeah they make crazy power:0 butt i think then you have to build a new frame from scratch because this frame will collapse with an engine like that :))
