The key to winning the derby is getting as much weight to the back of the car as possible. Mark Rober has a video about it and it’s fascinating. If you think about it, it makes sense. Weight X height equals potential energy. So you want you weight as high as possible.
I think if you have a room in the middle is less but if it’s rough seas you will feel it every where. It takes me a week when I get back to land to stop feeling like I’m rocking. I’m jelly you make me want to go on a cruise I have never been on Disney cruise and always wanted to go maybe one day hope you have a wonderful cruise
Watched all your DCL videos in preparation for our very first cruise, on the Wonder, which was last week. Now watching this makes me homesick for the ship 😪 The water was really rough on our sailing too. Someone said the waves were approaching 12 ft our last night at sea. Definitely felt the g-forces in the front stateroom. I was the only one in my party that didn't get motion sickness

On my very first cruise (Carnival Conquest) my friend and I stayed in one of the very front rooms on deck 6. This was in April 2018 and it was so rough at times we LITERALLY were falling out of bed and flopped around! Now I'm questioning if it was the seas, us being dramatic, the drink package or all three 😂😂🤦♀️ love watching you Michael!!!! You always take me on an adventure!
We stayed in Forward on the Dream in September when several hurricanes were Churning up the Atlantic. The seas were so rough in the middle of the night that the hangers in the closet were clinking together and getting u to walk to the bathroom was a challenge. Not great for moving around the ship, but if you enjoy being rocked to sleep, it was glorious , LOL
I’m thinking about that extra $40/person to eat at Palo! Hmmmm! The cruise is already super expensive! Wonderful vlog! Thank you Michael! I was accepted to work with Autism on Seas and hoping to work with families on cruises that have kids with special abilities! I have still not been on a cruise so hoping to be on one real soon!!!
once you get to platinum you don’t have to worry about the up charge ! you get to chose between one brunch or dinner included in the cruise and also if you have a guest in your room that isn’t platinum they are included in your meal as we’ll!
I was on the Wonder during your cruise. You aren't kidding about the seas, it was a rough voyage. They closed the pools on the last day and for good reason, the water was nearly emptying from one side to the other.

My wife and I did Palo on our first ever cruise in November. We loved it. Saw some of the same dishes. She asked about 3 different appetizers and Grace (we had the same server) brought her all three. The standout to us was the Cioppini (seafood) soup. She had the scallops and I had the Osso Buco, which we both enjoyed each one. The antipasti course was wonderful and we split the souffles just like you guys. Showing different tastes, my wife loved the amaretto soufflé, while I thought the chocolate soufflé was one of the best desserts I had on our cruise
I wonder if the Disney ships have the extra stabilizers that can be retracted when not needed, the RC line has them and they do help with stability during high seas

This year is particularly rough in the Caribbean. It’s not necessarily a January thing. Plenty of ships had to miss ports and changed routing because of the high winds
I miss being on Disney Cruise and we went on Fantasy in 2013. September. No problems but one night of rough at sea due to tropical storm but the captain told us to expect it. But we went on Disney Magic in 2016 in end of November and begin of December. The sea was very rough they had all swimming pool closed every day. When we at port they where open. I think maybe 1 day out of 7 night cruise it was open during at sea.
I so had a really rough sea day once. You seemed to have it pretty good when it came to waves😂 I once had 30-40 foot waves and I got soooo sick. Even in mid-ship, if the waves are bad it can get rocky. I always advise bringing dramamine. You never know how the waves will act while on ship.
The gentle rocking is on a par with yo momma rocking you as a newborn. If you think a very gentle rocking is too upsetting for you, then this _isn’t_ the channel for you. 🤦♀️
I’ve been on 7 Disney Cruises, and my biggest tip is to download the Disney Cruise Line app. You can look at all the upcoming events, secret meet and greets, and perfect movie times. The D- Lounge always has some fun trivia going on! :)) your videos are the only good Disney Cruise vlogs I can geek out to lol 🤪🤪

Did the SWDAS a week before you and we had the western carribean itinerary.. didnt make it in cayman or jamaica.. soo bummed!! and the shows weren’t that good on this specific cruise. was disappointed
you were experiencing some rough cruising, on my DCL to bermuda was very rough in october. The ship was moving very bad that at night i was being rocked like a baby on my bed and my room was in the mid ship so i wasn't able to get a goodnight sleep. i tried Palo lunch and dinner and i enjoyed lunch better and the price has gone up. have a blessed day.
Regarding Palo. Don't forget that once you make it to Platinum, you get one Palo dinner or brunch for free. We usually do both and get one for free (+Tip of course)
I don't know if this is still a possibility, but I have ordered the chocolate souffle from Palo to be delivered to our regular restaurant for a special occasion. Of course, you have to order it at the beginning of the meal.
Just got off the Dream this morning! We're Gold members and we also wish the adult pools weren't so crowded. We keep going back and forth on our top choices. We used to love Brunch at Palo but feel the quality has been going slightly down. It was good this trip but not so good on the Wonder back in April. And as I try more and more dishes over at Palo Dinner, we keep falling in love with it more and more! We always do Palo dinner once on our cruises because we're not huge fans of the Pirate selections on Pirate Night. I take that back, my absolute favorite soup is the Chilled Mango on Pirate night lol. But that's it. My husband and I also prefer the Amaretto Soufflé over the Chocolate one because we prefer the lighter almond taste. But both are very tasty! Why do they have to end :( Watching your video after getting off the Dream mere hours ago always makes us happy.
That part was so interesting to me - we cruised the Magic (smaller ship) in April (lots of kids aboard) and the adults-only area only came close to be crowded once - many times there were just a handful of people!

We sailed out of Galveston on the Wonder the same week you guys took this sailing and the seas were INSANE!!! I never get seasick and definitely did this time around. Sometimes it happens!🤷🏼♀️
Cruise ships minimise the side to side motion by stabilisers, they look like plane wings and are situated below the water line... One thing ships cant do is supress the up and down motion thats just something that ya gotta get used to :)
I just recently got off of the Wonder last week, and our stateroom was in inside forward and my mom slept in the bed and agreed that it feels like you are going up and down!
There are two things that will affect the experience of rocking. The higher you are on the ship (higher decks), the more you will feel it. The farther you are on one end or the other of the ship, the more you will feel it. So, the lowest, most central point you can find will be the most (relatively) calm.
Once this series is over, it will be interesting to get your take on the cruise overall. Specifically, the rough seas and how you were able to deal with it.
I got to try pollo for the first time on my last cruise because I’m platinum but for me we did dinner and it’s not worth it because of how much I love the rotational dining however I can’t say the brunch wouldn’t be.
Don't forget you can get multiple courses at Palo too! Don't feel like you can only order 1 app, entree, and dessert, if you want to try multiple things GO FOR IT! You're already paying a premium to be on a Disney cruise and an extra premium to eat at Palo so get whatever you want.
