Dalman, Smith, Wright and Jenkins (on a team friendly deal) sound pretty good to me then draft the rest. Even though Jenkins had issues staying on the field due to injuries but at least when he did play he was been pretty damn good. The Bears haven't exactly did him any favors either with all the switching from RT to LT to LG. I'm all for players being versatile but damnit let's spend some money on positions we need on that o-line and draft what we don't sign.

Since you're on a roll keep that ball rolling then go get Dalman to take over that Center spot and anchor this line with those two and Darnell you can draft the rest and/or take some of whatcwe have to find backups I want to see the Bears go all in and not be timid

I think whichever way they go be it a combo of smith, zeitler, or Dalman along with filling whatever hole is left in free agency would be a fine path to go. I do think that even if they miss out on smith and sign zietler and dalman and use whatever money they were going to use to sign smith to grab someone like a koonce and/or reddick as the edge rushers along with a 3 wr and solid if not above average dt then that path is good too. I just think, to be honest, any route they go in free agency and in the draft that as long as the priority this offseason are the two lines the bears will be perfectly fine. We have our qb, we have our top 2 wide receivers, we can grab a rb on day 2 of the draft with either of the second round picks and grab a wr or DT with the other second rounder, we have our line backing core and we have our secondary (unless you cut Byard or brisker in which you use a pick on a safety as well.) Point is though I’d say 95% of this teams issues are on 6 positions (the interior o line, DT, running back and edge. That means we can easily solve the majority of those issues with the first 4-5 picks in the top 3 rounds and use the free agency money as bridge players like a dalman oe a Ziegler or a Mack or even a bridge safety and this teams issues will be shit tons times better than last year. Hell this team is already better than last year with the subtraction of Eberflus and Morgan the o line coach and the addition of Johnson and the former saints/tulane o line coach as well. Loads better. In fact I’d give this team an A already for an offseason grade before we start grabbing players in FA and the draft. That because of the additions of Johnson, the additions of the coaches below him in Dennis Allen, randle el, the o line coach. This isn’t a matter of the bears winning the offseason again, this time taking steps to not only protect Caleb Williams but to grow as a team.

@ThurmanWebster (CodyMunson) - Why does everyone assume every free agent wants to play for the Bears? I would think KC wants him back and could franchise tag him. The Bears will probably sign the two best guards wanting to play for the Bears.
I think Trystan Colon-Castillo for Center is realistic. Guards like Patrick Mekari and Ben Bredeson may be more likely.
Keenan Allen is probably going back to the Chargers or maybe another west coast team like the Raiders or Cardinals. Maybe the Rams if they get rid of Kupp.
The Bears don't need a top WR at the slot. They need a reliable WR with a catch percentage of 65% or higher. Taking a flier on Diontae Johnson and drafting a WR while having Tyler Scott available as a backup may be enough. Darius Slayton is underrated.
The slot WR is only going to get 90 to 110 targets if Cole Kmet is more readily used. No need to spend so much money for a slot WR.
Listening to Smith talk in his recent interview, he stated that money doesn't matter. He just wants to win superbowls. He will be staying in Kansas for less money.

I'm looking so forward to Dennis Allen's defense. I believe he'll put together a fine unit. Honestly, I dont care how many coaches they hire. It can only benefit this young staff and team.
Trey Smith then draft Tyler Booker and Grey Zabel and play him as a center, With those 3 the inside running game would make Najee Harris look like superman
There’s a cap people. The goal shouldn’t be to get one super expensive 5 star lineman that forces you to settle for a bunch of 2s and 3s along the rest of the line because you’re out of cap space. The goal shouldn’t be to get 3s and 4s and potentially develop 4s and 5s through the draft. But that’s where the plan falls short, because Poles isn’t great at player evaluation….
We have too many needs on both lines to afford blowing too much money on one or two studs…

I'm not signing Dalman for Center his pass pro is atrocious. I'd just resign Colman Shelton. I'm drafting a rookie starter to develop. Play Shelton another year or let him back up the Rookie. There's possible rookies to draft. You go get RG Smith at 23 mill a year!

It's make no sense why he would leave KC. Playing with today's GOAT, been to 3 consecutive super bowls. If he's as good as it's being suggested, why would KC let him walk? I'd be blown away if Chicago lands him, or if he even his the open market for that matter

Matt ebeflus wasn’t the problem. He was a great defensive cordnator. He knew how to lead a locker room and he was pretty decent with time management for like every game besides the detriot one. He should have been our DC this year. He would have gotten a chance from the head coach to be the one who developed Caleb into a 4k yard passer and made sweat and dexter all pros. Matt Eberflus, even had all the drip. He had a new hairstyle. He had a sick mustache. He was rebuilding the Colts into a super team in win the Bears signed him. He just didn’t know what they were doing at first. And once Eberflus was doing amazing with the Defense, they just gave up on him. The Bears would probably be sitting at 11 wins this year. If they just kept him for one more year The organization failed eberflus. SMH 🤦♀️
Eberflus was 14-32 as the Bears HC. This man's record in close games was inexcusable he lost 19 out of 24 games that were decided by one score. He had multiple losing streaks of 14 games. Each season has been atrocious under him. I don't know what they saw in him that screamed he was a good fit to be our HC.
@ other than clock management he knew how to coach up a Defense and he gave good locker room speeches. His interviews could definitely use some work. But he had a lot of drip to him. I think Eberflus would have made Caleb a 4K yard passer without a doubt. 🐻⬇️
