    • @iterationfackshet1990
      @iterationfackshet1990 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Nah, the real confederate spec ops used whitworth sniper rifles and killed union generals and commanders. This is more of a light infantry, skirmishing and scouting out the enemies line infantry as to weaken a specific point in the line so that your line infantry could move in and force the line to be split and cause a possible retreat.

      Not really. I say that because budging when under attack is more of an instinct when it happens in the real world when your life is really in danger. In a video game there is no instinctive urge to move out of the way. You just have to do what the team agreed on.

I don't think any southern soldier ever did it again once the war was over. The best description I ever heard of it was to "yell like a banshee is squeezing your soul". If that is accurate then I can see why it struck fear into the northern troops.

    The military does usually work pretty well. What you describe is something called Mission Command. The General officers give basic higher level commands/directions, and leaves it up to the subordinates to execute without micromanaging them. The General should always provide intent for what needs to be accomplished.

      Yung Yea, the problem arises when those kinds of people riot and punch people for having different opinions. You’re not allowed to assault someone just because they’re wearing a red hat. Same as you’re not allowed to assault someone for a Biden shirt.

      @@bigredwolf6 I'm not sure how you "train" to be a marxist, other than maybe reading about alternatives to capitalism. Similarly I'm not sure how you train to be a capitalist. Just fyi I'm not looking for an arguement not trying to comment on/ attack anyone's politics and probably wont be responding to any comments on this thread, but since people are commenting on a thread i started... antifa haven't been linked to any murders in 25 years. And people often put socialism and communism and marxism all in together, with wild and varied ideas of what that means. I'm from the UK and we are definitely a capitalist society, but we also have the NHS which is definitely a socialist institution. I really hope America/ the whole world can one day benefit from a similar form of free health care.

    you know, im missing this kind of gameplay but set during the last indian wars around 1860 - 1890. Something Like hunt showdown meets war of rights. It would be fecking amazing holding stockades, facing enemy cav and shit. id love it. some good old repeater action going on, where players would have to lever and bolt manually and if youd do it too fast your character would become massively inaccurate. And lower tier weapons would be smoke-producing, while elite players would have access to smokeless powder firearms.

    Hey Pixie. Congradulations on 721,000 subs. I don't know if that's an achievement or not, but I just wanted to say congrats to someone today. Anyways, what do you think of this "scenario" for a Napoleonic Total War 3 battle which you did with Ryan King in Italy. Any who, (clears throat), In August, 1811, with the Peninsular Campaign against the French Empire successful, the British Parliament devised a offensive against the French Empire in the Italian Theatre. Major General Sir Thomas Picton was ordered in command of a large British army, with the intent of capturing Rome. The army, aided by rebellious brigades of Naples, advanced quickly north. A large Hanoverian mercenary army under French colors, joined a Royal Italian Army in defense, and marched south. The Anglo-Naples army consisted of 21,000, while the Franco-Italian army consisted of 18,000. Viceroy Eugene de Beauharnais, who was commanding the army, wanted a defensive position at Bastia Nuova, however the locals of the town supported the British invaders, and it was two days before the German and Italian army was able to establish a fortified position. Brutal fighting followed. Musket fire was so rapid among the armies that brigades of men resorted to the fluted steel of the bayonet. The Italian and German armies retreated to ruins of the Roman and Visogothic Eras, and despite two hours of bloody battle, the Italio-German army surrendered to overwhelming odds. However, Major General Picton withdrew his men frm Italy, as his army had suffered massive casualties, and had lost the will to fight. The Battle of the Ruins remains one of the bloodiest batles in Italian history, only surpassed by the likes of the Battles of Trebia and Cannae, ne thousand six hundred years before. The battlefield lay silent, spread with corpses. One Napolitano officer wrote in his memoirs "Smoke clung to the air, as we choked on it's scent. The battlefield was blue, green and red, for not a single flick of grass stood atop the heaps of the dead, wounded, and dying. Many cried for hours. Two were sent home, wailing, calling out for brothers, uncles, fathers, cousins, family, caught, maimed, and struck, in the coarse of war. While the Germans will claim the victory theirs, and our men might well the same, no one won this battle. Not a single man could claim it. God bless their restless souls, whose bodies mamed and brutally butchered for the price of some nobleman not snatched of his treasury, for they enlisted to receive three meals a day, to see glory and honor, when that dream was so far away. Glory and honor are never in war. Never. Amen.". Good day Pixie.

    One of the hilarious things about the civil war was that, at the time, breech-loading and bolt-action rifles had already been invented and were pretty mainstream, but the US, even the Union, were still using percussion cap rifles.
