    Some young farriers manage to rise to the constant challenge of Heartland Horseshoeing School during weeks 9 and 10, others hit a wall. Literally!

      I hope so too! Be sure you apply a long time before you plan on coming. I have to turn away a lot of people since we are often full many months in advance.

    I imagine over the years that the bookwork has become more of an issue with high schoolers. Do you send a packet of basic anatomy terms and their locations for students to memorize before classes start? It's hard to get beat tired students to buckle down to new words, plus totally foreign concepts, if they are starting from scratch. I'm just curious how you are meeting this growing challenge.

      We send out a couple of emails about learning before class starts and strongly encourage them to get the textbook well before they get here to start learning the anatomy. If they get anatomy, then they can understand conformation, gaits, pathology, etc.
