I really hope this 4th gen of Ladybaby finds their own sound and personality. Been watching them since the 1st gen (Ladybeard, Rei, and Rie) and I really feel like they peaked during the 3rd gen with Rie, Nana, Emily, and Fuka lineup. That was a special lineup but as I started with I really hope they find their own path to bring Ladybaby back from the void it has been in.
I agree the 3rd gen with Rie, Nana, Emily, and Fuka lineup was their best. I loved that line up and the music. If I had known their last show with that line up at The Liquid Room I would have flown out to Japan to be there. I will watch the newest generation of Ladybaby to see but as it looks now not going to be a favorite of mine.
Same here (fan since 2015). Ladybaby is rare to have caught lightning in a bottle twice with (almost) totally different lineups, and -- no disrespect to Rei -- the 3rd gen lineup with Rie, Nana, Emily, & Fuka is by far my favorite. Those four created something special. Still, I'm willing to give this quintet a chance. It also took time for LB3 to grow into the amazingly tight unit -- still friends to this day -- that did "Riot Anthem", "Endless End Hello", and "Misogi Island".
Never understood why the producers decided to pull the plug on Mark 3. That was the strongest line up with the best songs. Commercial suicide IMO. That line up set the bar. I have to see if Mark 4 can surpass that.
@@yeroun1974 I kinda got the feeling from live footage that Rie was tired and wanted a break, plus we know Fuka wanted to go to Uni, but it still came the f'k outta nowhere -- there WERE supposed to be a few "reunion" shows in 2020 starting with Emily's birthday in March and then a festival in May but Covid put a stop to that. Once PassCode hired Emily and then Rie & Rei finally made up, that was it for LB-3 ever reuniting onstage.
I just know the first gen. From Nippon Manju. Can you guys list down who are the 2nd and to the current gen. And if you have the time. Give me the songs that was released during those gens. If not, is it searchable in the internet?

I feel very proud of each of the new girls. I'm a fan of the group and will always support them. In such a big selection and with so much hard work from each one,
It's so sad to see people saying "this isn't LADYBABY, change the group's name" if you are a fan of the group, support them until the end, but don't belittle the hard work of each new member.
Talented girls, great singers, I was really surprised that their tone of voice was so similar to Rie, that's something to be proud of. and support girls
@@bokunoseida_roh9696 I found it kind of funny that Mia is apparently a Rie fangirl… and either she or Rem has a very Rie-style vocal tone. This is cool, but I feel sad for all those girls who did not make the cut! In this last decade alone it seems that becoming an idol is an aspiration of nearly every young girl in Japan! There is a lot of emotion there, plus their personal stories (which many of us never hear)! Love the new lineup, though! I hope all those who did not make it will continue to follow their dreams!
This is pretty much the “Making the Band/Danity Kane” approach. Well, Mia is clearly a Rie fangirl (she has good taste, lol) and Sakura looks up to Emily, so that's 2 of 5… As for "big baby" Ei-chan -- she's 173cm tall -- does it really matter? Girl showed legit talent in this raw footage… Sena is an enigma, but Rem heavily implied she was a fan of LB-3… and Fuka _really_ likes her based on her tweets

@@Wagoo Unfortunately, Suzu and Kotomi/Mahri -- nice girls though they be -- are not as talented as Rei or Rie despite being the same age as them, which means they can't make up for Beard's total lack of music skills.
@@Soufriere84 completely disagree - I saw BABYBEARD live earlier this year and Suzu/Kotomi did an excellent job. Their set included a “cover” of Nippon Manju, BABYMETAL’s Papaya, their original songs.. and had a staged wrestling match suddenly kick off halfway through the concert. It was very much like seeing the original incarnation of LADYBABY Obviously Rei and Rie have their own talents, (eg. Rei’s musicianship in Brats), but those aren’t relevant for bringing back the original band style that the label that owns LADYBABY tossed away
I dunno... Ladybaby always were way to gimmicky. Like, they took the Babymetal thing and took to another level (Ladybeard on the growling vocals), and it was cool for a while. But it got stale, and not as fun the next video. It got to a point I, personally, quit checking out. I just hope it has substance on their lyrics, this time. Be happy and buy stuff!"
LADYBABY has many songs with meaningful lyrics, as the group evolved throughout the years and different lineups. You should check out: God's Not, Generation Hard Knocks, School of Hard Knocks, Hoshi no nai sora, maybe even Riot Anthem, Misogi Island, endless End Hello and Shibuya Crossing.
@@HanyuuHOLO I'm gonna check them out, and definitely reply later with my uncalled 2 cents here. Love the polite and respectful tone of this conversation. Cheers from Brazil.
"Nippon Manju" WAS a glorified commercial (but not for what most think). But most of LB's music the lyrics mean a bit more -- "Agé-Agé Money" is about wage theft by executives, "God's Not" is about overcoming adversity through friendship, "Lady Baby Blue" is basically a lesbian anthem. There are a few LB songs with officially translated lyrics. Please check them out.
You're getting nowhere.. less and less views (30k on their debut which should be the big comeback lol), no english subs (if you don't care about us foreigners just say it), the new girls are very meh... just like in this video.
