It broke my heart hearing that woman's story and how she took her own life because of those scammers. I work in a skilled nursing facility in my town as an RA. I get to sit down with the residents and talk to them so they don't feel lonely or forgotten. I always tell them not to answer these random calls they get and to never send these people money or let them on their computers. If I can save just one elderly person from losing their life savings and possibly their life, that's a win for me.
I have an elderly friend in a nursing home. It is awesome to see this bed ridden man tell the scammers that call him to "f@#$ off and don't ever call me again!"
It's very sad to think about but I bet a LOT of retired/elderly people "fall" for these scams just because it's a person to talk to that will talk with them for hours. Like they are looking forward to answering a phone call, from anyone and everyone. It's kind of like how I know a few people like that who's sole source of social interaction is going to sit down at restaurants multiple times a day, or talking to me because I do their landscaping.
@@CadgerChristmasLightShow Oh most definitely. Some of them get put in nursing homes and completely forgotten about. No texts, phone calls, nothing. It's pretty sad. I don't know how they deal with it. I would be depressed if I were treated that way in my elderly age.
That breaks my heart hearing about that lady taking her life. My grandma is in her late 70’s isn’t tech savvy and starting to forget things. One day she got a call saying her power was going to get cut off unless she got $200 worth of apple gift cards. I’m glad she called my sisters and I first after she got the call. These people are ruthless. My grandmother is on a fixed income and my sisters and I help take care of her. Pleasant Green keep doing what you’re doing.
My grandfather who is also in his late 70s was recently scammed out of over $50,000+. It was a longer term scam, where he thought he was in a relationship with some “woman” who took advantage of the fact that my grandmother had passed and he was lonely and isolated after he decided to move to a cheaper state (against our pleas to not do so). When he started telling people about this “relationship” in which this woman would ONLY communicate through messaging and refused to speak on the phone or see him in person, we all urged him that it was a scam, but he refused to listen. Eventually, “she” successfully scammed him for the first time by making up some sort of fake crisis, in which he actually took it upon himself to travel to the state “she” claimed “she” resides in, stayed in a hotel for several days, sent her several thousand dollars to take care of “her crisis”, to which she still refused to see him in person or speak with him over the phone, so he eventually returned back home. He didn’t tell anyone he did this until after it happened, which is usually the case. Unfortunately, even after all of that, he still refused to believe that he was being scammed, refused to listen to our pleas to stop all communication with this person, and still carried on with the “relationship” out of pride and desperation, not telling anyone. A few months back he finally revealed and admitted that it was in fact a scammer, as he had just been scammed out of over $50K and was filing bankruptcy after the scammer somehow convinced him to put them on his line of credit due to some other “crisis”, and maxed out everything, taking him for everything he had (which was barely anything to begin with), then deleted all accounts, lines of communication and deleted their existence. He still refuses to notify law enforcement, though I doubt at this point they wouldn’t be able to do anything. I’m sure we don’t even know the full extent of it. This isn’t even the first time he’s been scammed, as back when my grandmother was still alive 5+ years ago, he was scammed by the typical computer scammers who stole his information and locked him out of his computer, which forced him to buy a new computer. Living so many states away (and unable to travel due to medical reasons), there’s only so much we can do, especially with how stubborn he is (and how gullible), his refusal to accept people telling him hard truths and how he won’t accept help or advice in any form. It’s absolutely infuriating what these scammers do to the elderly. They have no conscience, humanity or morality, they are just pure evil monsters taking advantage of extremely vulnerable people. It’s absolutely disgusting. And it’s infuriating that because they are overseas, there’s really no avenue for justice or a way to hold them accountable. I can only find solace in the fact that one day, on their day of judgement, they will finally be held accountable for what they have done, and at that point it will be too late for them.
@@BhappyD I saw a documentary about "Romance scams", the lady was told and show that it wasn't real. @@BhappyD So sorry to hear this happened to your grandfather. It is so frustrating when everyone knows and warns the victim, who refuses to see what’s right in front of them. I had a friend who was a lady in her 50s who had a similar scam run on her with a fake Internet boyfriend. She eventually had to sell her home because he’d taken all the rest of her money, with one fake crisis after another. Her friends and family had told her it was a scam for months, but she just wouldn’t or couldn’t believe it. I tried a different angle, and asked her if she would really be happy with a man who was always getting into trouble. and who always needed her money to get out of it - wouldn’t she rather have a man who took care of her? I don’t know if that advice sank in but I do know that a few months later she had stopped talking to him.
genuinely, it made me so upset. it gave me a moment of realization that these scams actually work and the scammers on the phone are completely heartless and don’t care about the elderly or anyone. they made someone take their life and probably didn’t shed a tear or feel any remorse
Chappy's friend taking her life brought tears to my eyes. I pray the day these disgusting thieving Indian Scammers get Life in prison or a Bounty is put on their heads by the Victims family
Thanks, Ben it was a very exciting collab! You are the master at taking weeks of long hours and turning it into a short video. You are amazing. As Bill Belichick would way, "On to the next"
Oh, Chappy! I am so sorry to hear of your friend losing her savings and taking her life, it's so tragic! When you saved that man at the bank I just lost it, I started bawling! I'm so glad I found you all and can call you all friends! What wonderful work you all are doing ~ I'm so proud of you all! I luv you, friend, I really do! 💕💕💕💙
Hey Chappy, it's JHawk. You're story is much like mine. My neighbor, a retired 80yo fbi agent with dementia, was scammed out of nearly 1mil (over time) of his life's savings. He ended his life passing from a stroke (because of this) and his lovely wife within a month took his service weapon to end her life. I LOOKED AFTER THESE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE AND STILL CRY OVER THIS!!!. That is why this is my mission too. Thanks AG, Ray and Chappy .... It's why I too am on this mission as my fellow friends are! I'm honored to be among those who care as I do.
I stepped in for two ladies at my local Walmart today wondering which cards they had to buy. I asked what it was about but they were trying to ignore me until I asked if they had a large amount accidentally deposited into an account and they said they would lose their job... then one of them looked and said yes! I told them it was a scam and if they were still on the phone or had to call them back. I talked to them and another person helped convince them it was fake. I asked if they would call them back and put them on speaker phone, they did. I pretended to be Pierogi from Scammer Payback and boy did they not like that. The two ladies were convinced! It felt good to do that. We helped clean up her phone and told her not to connect her pc to the internet and delete all of the stuff they had her download before going back online. I love what you and the others do. Keep it up!
Thanks, Ben, for this wonderful collaboration and any more to come... really excited and impressed with your video production / storytelling skills... I have much to learn and lots to share as we progress through this fabulous journey together!
My mom almost fell for a scam but, thankfully I've watched videos from you guys and, I instantly knew it was a scam. My mom has heart issues and was panicking beyond belief until, my dad and I sat her down and explained everything. Now she comes to me or my husband if she doesn't trust something. Thank you all for your help, it means more than you'll ever know.
The absolute power and collective knowledge shared by some of the scam baiting teams that have been developing is staggering. It blows my mind how many outlets will report that people are being scammed, but don't really do anything to try and build awareness. Good on all of you guys, you've probably saved people millions of dollars by now.
Banks are slowly building in safeguards, but they are so annoying and repetitive, people skip through them, without reading, because of the pressure of the scammers. Gift Cards stands now have warning notices, but who takes the time to read them, "It can't be relevant to me, I'm trying to get my refund."
I really like the work you do Pleasent Green. Not only do you catch the scammers in the act, but you turn it around and give them an opportunity to do good. Keep it up!
I’ve listened to Chappy so many times on trilogy media go in on the scammers. I cried listening to her talk about her friend in this video and seeing you guys actually help these clueless individuals really makes me smile.
@@Nomercy721 They can do something, and maybe some already are: 1. Educate bank employees to ask questions when someone, especially the elderly, wants to wire transfer a large sum of money. 2. Educate retail store management to work with employees to be on the lookout for people, again especially elderly, trying to buy large quantities of gift cards. 3. Work with AARP to flood their members with info about scammers 4. FBI and Interpol work with vetted and respected scambusters like Perogi and Jim Browning to develop lists of scammer bosses so these bossesif tried to enter the US or Europe they would be arrested and face trial. I know that is much to ask, but it is a matter of priorities. Instead, local police are more interested in busting the guy with a dime bag of weed and the FBI is busy acting as political "dirt diggers" for whichever party happens to be in power at the time.
Over recent months I've become aware of the awesome work Chappy does behind the scenes with Modder Paul to save and support scam victims, but hearing her explain just why she got involved after losing her friend so tragically gave me even more respect! I'm so glad you guys are all collaborating together and I hope this blessed mission will continue to grow from strength to strength.🙏
I started to watch KitBoga some years ago and he is very entertaining. But soon I had to realize, the situation is actually serious. So I'm glad I've learned and still earning about these scams from every each one of you. Stay amazing like this "Ben". Your content is also very entertaining. But the best part is, when you can sae a victim. GO ON, brother

Scammers are despicable, and you guys are doing great work. Thank you for protecting our parents and grandparents from losing what they worked so hard to save.
It’s good to know there’s people out there giving the scammers a dose of their own medicine. How on Earth those scammers can live with themselves, knowing they scammed a a lady with dementia is beyond me. Wondering did they know that woman took her own life because of what they did. Countries around the world need to work together to clamp down on these scams and bring them to justice. So many times I’ve received scam calls trying to scam me. The last one who called me, acted like he knew me, saying how are you, addressing me by my name and than preceded to sell me life insurance. I said to him I didn’t give you my number and how would you like it if I called your personal number, acting like I know you when I don’t. He just replied with a cocky attitude and came across like he was untouchable and arrogant. All I can say is, what goes around comes around. 🙏🏻
That story about Chappy's friend was heartbreaking. I know we all laugh at these scam calls here, and they are funny at times, but when you put it into that perspective, it becomes a far more serious issue. And some of the scammers have this cold reaction toward their victims like they view them as less than human. It's disgusting. I wonder if the scammers who stole from Chappy's friend ever found out that they caused someone to end their life. I hope they know and have to live with that. Also, Modder Paul sounds like the sweetest guy. So glad all of you guys are doing this. Paul was right - it sounds like victims have no recourse here or in India (or wherever the scammers are located) and that's pretty screwed up.
Ben, it's a shame that predators like this can operate without consequence. I want to thank you and everyone like you who try and save unsuspecting people. I'm sure you've heard, "time is money". What doesn't come across in that phrase is, people trade parts of their life for money. These scammers aren't stealing money, they're stealing people's lives.
I really enjoyed Pleasant Green content. I work in Finance with elderly people . I recently dealt with a lady who had 60,000K in check fraud within a week I got all her money back, but she was not sure how she was scammed . she was 92 years old, and I made sure she was my priority ... people be very careful..
Fantastic! So happy you are working with Ray and Chappy! And the story about Chappy's friend is just so heartbreaking, I don't know how anybody can be so evil to scam a confused lady out of all her money, so sad 😞
Scammers almost got my dad. It was at the point where the bank was supposedly calling him, and thank God my dad had a moment of lucidity and gave the phone to my brother. My brother figured it out almost immediately and stopped the scam in its tracks. My dad also had dementia (passed last year). He got scam calls so much, and they didn't stop after the family got involved, they got about ten times worse. Scammers still call for my dad, and my brother and I get really emotional about it (for obvious reasons), something the scammers absolutely do not understand.
@@mchenrynick We've changed the numbers twice, and they still call for him. I don't know how they're getting the numbers and I don't know how they're associating them with my dad, but it's infuriating.
I can praise you constantly ( I have ) but as a senior citizen who never studied IT basics in school, all I can say is: THANK YOU. This could have been me. ❤
Every time these scammers call me, i keep them busy as long as i can. Any minute wasted on me is a minute less on scamming others. I despise these lowlifes.
Because of this channel. I noticed an elderly woman holding up the line at the gas station. I noticed she was holding gift cards. I promptly interrupted her and asked her “did someone on the phone told you owe taxes and have an arrest warrant?” She said yes . I told her that was a scam. She looked at me relieved and said thank you and walked away.
@@BrianLG100 especially now in the holiday season, I'm sure scammers will come up with creative ways to manipulate their victims into buying such gift cards
I feel terrible about the woman who took her life because of a scammer. This pisses so many people off. I love everything you, Kitboga, Perogi, and all of the other scambaiters. I wish I could do this too but I think I have to be 18+😅. Keep it up!
I work for a police department and deal with people who get scammed frequently. When I tell people who are actively getting scammed that the person on the other end isn’t real, they can’t believe it. It’s heartbreaking watching them get taken advantage of.
My Dad is 93, turns 94 later this month (Love You Dad!) my oldest Brother handles all his finances, even though dad is still sharp as a tack. All he can do is call the oldest and fill him on what is happening. Then, he is told what really is going on!
I love your channel so much! This video was worth the wait. Made me tear up. I love the work of scambaiters. Changing the world 💕💕💕 you all doing hero’s work!!
I always enjoy your videos but this one, I love! I have shared this video to my Facebook and hope that my friends and family will watch it. Knowing what happens in a scam call is the best way to avoid it and protect yourself. And it is my hope that eventually people will not fall for these scams so it will not be a profitable business for the scammers.

Chappy's story hit me hard. I work in assisted living, I occasionally keep an ear out if a resident is talking on the phone and I'm hearing what sounds like a scam. I've even asked to make sure one resident wasn't being asked to buy gift cards just to make sure (it wasn't a scam fortunately). Hearing what happened to her friend is heart breaking

I couldn't imagine what it was like for chappy. I work for a local internet company and the amount of times the elderly call in about a pop up is great but also sad at the same time. I always try and teach then when I get ahold of them.

Can someone explain to me what the mentality is like for these young scammers? Like they're young adults right? Do they all believe scamming is a valid or normal job choice? This is the only time I've seen a scammers develop a conscience and turn against it. Surely there are more people like this?
I watch your channel and all the other’s and more awareness needs to be made to help educate those who tend to fall for scammers and those who are assisting people in whatever situation someone is in meaning mental and/or physical health or age etc… I wish I could do more to help! Telecommunication companies, having the control over the means of communication of the 2 parties, should step in and block certain calls from ever happening. Block india, add a whitelist function for people that actually needs to communicate there.
You can't "block India". They'll just use a VPN and connect from a different country. Telco companies should deactivate number spoofing. This would help a lot so scammers can't make their calls look like they're coming from your bank or the police.
So awesome to see Modder get more love for being a scambaiter, it didn't really get to see him work on the people's call center. That is really horrible and the scammers don't care about other people's lives they are greedy and selfish.

Sorry for your loss.😪
@@sixpinkoneblue Thanks so much!
Damn i guess I’ll start learning about cyber stuff to be like you
Those scammers are demonic. These stories about scambaiters and collaborations bring me to happy tears.
Banks are slowly building in safeguards, but they are so annoying and repetitive,
people skip through them, without reading, because of the pressure of the scammers.
Gift Cards stands now have warning notices, but who takes the time to read them,
"It can't be relevant to me, I'm trying to get my refund."
Modder Paul's comments at the end gave me goosebumps. Fighting the fight that those who are paid to fight refuse to fight. Bravo, my man, bravo.
Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot!
American police can't do anything about criminals in India, Indian police are paid off by scammers so won't do anything to stop them
@@Nomercy721 They can do something, and maybe some already are:
1. Educate bank employees to ask questions when someone, especially the elderly, wants to wire transfer a large sum of money.
2. Educate retail store management to work with employees to be on the lookout for people, again especially elderly, trying to buy large quantities of gift cards.
3. Work with AARP to flood their members with info about scammers

Maybe activate call screening on your phone line?
Great job as always Ben, Ray, and especially Chappy! What you guys do to save people is above and beyond and you truly are heroes. Much love!
Excellent as always! Thank you pleasant Green, and all scambaiters!
Great info, Thanks! Awesome help!
Do you need any assist
The problem is, the scammers don't care: they see money, they want money, they'll do whatever they have to get that money, the victims be damned.
The only way to stop those calls is to get rid of that phone number. Change your phone number!
I gotta remember to do the same if I see someone around middle-aged to older with a card. Or anyone who a gift with $100 or more.
@@BrianLG100 especially now in the holiday season, I'm sure scammers will come up with creative ways to manipulate their victims into buying such gift cards

Thank you and everyone who strives to take these cruel people down. It devastates me to no end that they would do these things to people.
