I never thought of selling options on my YM shares. I have over 15,000 CONY and 12,000 MSTY. Wonder how others would deal with that. My CONY avg cost = $15.33 and MSTY is $30.98. My current plan is to just sit on these for at least the next 4-6 months and see how the dividends trend and NAV goes. Most of these are in tax-deferred accounts and I have about 15% of them in a regular, taxable brokerage account.
Another great video. I 100% agree - do not buy calls on green days and do not buy puts on red days. I bought a bunch of NVDA and PLTR ITM leaps on those big red days this week. Stacking more and more.
I have 800 shares of TSLL avg price of 31.50. I’m trying to find some calls to make some $ back but with the current price I cannot get any real premium for the $31.50 strike. Wondering if I just hold tight or sell puts to try to reduce my avg cost/share (if assigned). Interested in hearing what others would do. I also have 1500 shares of NVDX at $16. Trying to find ways to sell CCs but again it doesn’t seem to have very good premium. So not sure what to do with that. Either just sit and hold or sell for a loss.
Whenever I have shares that are pretty far out of the money, I just sell CCs closer to where I think the stock might be by the end of the options contract, even if it's lower than my cost basis. Either the contract will expire worthless and you can keep your premium or the stock will hit your strike price in which you can decide if you want to take the capital loss or you can roll your CC up in strike price and out to get you even closer to your cost basis. Either way, you're making premium and not just letting your investment sit there and do nothing.
So why wouldn't you write calls on TNA if you can get premium above your cost basis. Yes it may not yield 100 % but if your cost is 41.50 and you can get 42 even if it is only a penny. Your gain would be .51/41.50= 62% if it was assigned. And I know the penny itself isn't much, but it is income. And you can keep doing it until it is called away and still write puts to lower your cost if they are assigned. As for your cash how about a BBB rated fund CLOZ 9.4% yield. I am not sure how volatile it is yet. Another TH-camr is using it to hold his cash. But just checked TNA at 42 and it is paying about .56 to .64 per share premium.
Came here to say this. Looks like you can get ~110% annualized on a 42 call expiring Friday. If you're interested in premium and not capital appreciation, why not do this?
My favorite weekly videos, the wheel update and the dividend car
Thanks for the video. Bollinger bands and the 50 & 200 MAs are a great guide. Works well for TSLL, TNA, NVDL, and SOXL.
These Wheel videos are my favorite!!!!! Like running YieldMax funds ourselves with no NAV erosion.
Love me some options content. Thank you for the wheel update. Have a great weekend.
Where were you this morning, I was gettin worried lol
@ I was an ice cube in a tree stand. And it was still dark I couldn’t risk the light. But I was still listening to your beautiful singing.

Wait for a green day then sell calls about 4-5 weeks out. At fridays close 31.5c a month out was around $1.75 on a red day. 5 weeks out 32c was $2.25
@@mfinite689 Thanks for your advice. That seems like a good strategy.
@@steelhorses2004 Thank you - that is a good way to go.
Thank you 🙏 ROD
TNA under $40 is very tempting. Might look at a 36 or 37p on monday if red
ROD I played SOFI on puts and calls pretty good one!. The Feb 2026 15 dollar call pretty good pay and since SOFI does not pay a div even better!
Could you explain how you use margin?
Are you on the discord?
Can you ask there?
I only ask because it’s easier to have a follow up convo in the topic
@@RetireonDividends I could join.
I tag me in the margin or options channel with your question
Bro, why aren’t you rolling these out of the money?
Can’t you sell calls on MSTY with a Feb expiration date? That avoids the wash sale rule. Right?
yes I can sell calls on any date but my cost basis is just too high, however i will sell puts once the 30 days is over

I’m going to write calls on TNA if it’s worth it
