    Thanks again for this video it was very very helpful! I just finished up the delete on my day cab which went very smooth and it was all thanks to this video. Unfortunately I did not have the time to ship my computer or wait for parts from VP unlimited so I had someone local reprogram the computer and I made my own block off plates. And just yesterday I tore apart my other truck to do the delete on that one as well.

    My butterfly valves were broken inside the EGR valve on the back (hot side) of the EGR. I found all but 1 piece of them. They beat up the tubes of the EGR and coolant was leaking back into the exhaust. I tried to grind the beat up tubes down some so the block plate would sit flat. I did the best I could and was a little surprised that it didn't leak afterwards. I was lucky because the exhaust manifolds on this truck were not solid. They both had the flexible braided steel couplings on them which allowed me to install the thin blocking plates in them without removing them. I could not get the bolts removed from one of the exhaust manifolds, (the far back one) so i installed it at the front of the EGR valve. I left all of the components installed. I was only able to do this because of the flexible manifolds. All of the coolant lines were left installed as well. The front side block plates were pretty easy though. When the valves broke on this truck the electric motor that controls them was stuck on and the wires that power it were fried all the way back to the wiring harness and some other wires were burnt. Someone was lucky this truck did not burn to the ground. I sure wish I would have found that one lost piece of butterfly valve.

    The truck I bought already has a dpf delete and tune but they didn't do the egr. Should I still go get it tuned after I plate off the egr or do you think its good for now?

    Do I have to remove the egr cooler core? Or can I just put the plate where the egr valve goes and that will seal it?

    I just got a prostar that runs fine but looses coolant after 100 miles through the exauhst. So I’m going to block the cooler off. I noticed you dealt with your manifold. Is that because yours was just cracked? So i don’t have to do the manifold part if I’m just blocking it off?
    Ecm has to be tuned to run it after the block off ?? My truck doesn’t have def from manufacture idk if that matters.

      The maxxforce didn't come with def just the N13 and A26. Yes the manifold was replaced because it was cracked. Remove the egr valve and cap both sides of the egr cooler and have the ecm tuned. That truck will treat you good 👍🏻

    I'm confused on what your saying to do with the coolant line in the front after removing the hard tube section and running it back to the radiator reservoir. Could you explain in detail. Thanks

      I will try. The fitting on the front of the egr cooler, that line runs to the egr valve. Then another line is the return from the egr valve to the coolant reservoir. So when you remove the egr valve there is no need for that line. So just go from the fitting on the egr cooler straight to the reservoir.     Hey I have a question about a maxforce 13 delete! When I'm Idoling overnight It will pressurize the cooling system and below out in antifreeze. Seeing if you know why this would be happening.

      It's pretty difficult to remove considering the heater hoses and coolant manifold at the back of the engine. If you cap both sides it becomes nothing more than an extra coolant tank.

    Alex, with this delete method the EGR cooler cores need to stay intact and still circulate coolant right? Is there a way to completely bypass the EGR cooler cores? Mine are busted due to turbo and exhaust back pressure from a hack job mechanic not understanding how to delete the Maxforce 13

      Leave the cores intact and cap both ends of the cooler and don't worry about it anymore

    Did you use copper exhaust sealant on all gaskets? Do you know what is proper torque for exhaust manifold bolts engine side and where block of plates go?

      No sealant, manifold bolts to the head are one time use. 25 ftlbs then 90 degrees. Block off plates are just good and tight

      @@alecburril3433 I sent my ecm to 3k and got deleted and tune and I'm expecting it back tomorrow. All I have left to do is to install the block plates. I really couldn't trust anyone to do this delete because people don't really honorand stand behind their work. And 3k made sure that I knew the ecm tune has a lifetime warranty. I’m about to get started on replacing them both and deal with a broken bolt at the egr valve. It seems to be the ideal time to do this. To remove the egr valve do I need to remove the coolant pipe in front of the valve?

      I have a 2017 international maxxforce I had deleted years ago, been running solid ever since. Til yesterday I ended my day went to park the truck and turn it off, put key in off n position but the engine stayed on.. any ideas?

    They seem like a bargain because they are so cheap, however there is no deal to be had even if the the truck is free. It may be difficult to get into the green running a Maxforce 13

      I don't know about source one. 3k calibrations took care of the tuning. 515/1850

      No. Still several issues with the maxxforce engine it's self. Was never built to last. Made it to 909k miles before shitting the bed. But hey it was a 10k truck that made me a ton of money.

      I'm not a fan of leaving the stuff in place. You can't see the egr valve from under the hood anyways. Just my take on it. If you're gonna delete it the dumpster is where the stuff should go

      Use the gaskets and then I cut the flanges off of the manifold to egr valve pipes because the pressure will warp the plates and blow out the gaskets

      Yes the 2010 and newer have a good Jake. The earlier ones only have an exhaust brake. Take a chance. Don't be scared

      Most companies don't care. I have my own authority, so it was not an issue

      @antoniomiles2973 you're not understanding. If you have your own authority, you don't lease on to another company.
      If you just own the truck each company will be different. If they plug into the ecm it is obvious if it's deleted or not

      @antoniomiles2973 I don't see any reason to do that. The 1st 90 days can be rough, and then the doors start opening up. You have to carry insurance anyway for it "season" so you'll be paying double the Insurance. If you're gonna do just jump in and go. Call the shots and make the moves.
      I run Monday to Friday on an average of 1800 miles a week with $5300 gross and $3450 net. With the state of the economy I say that's pretty good. It al depends if you wanna be an entrepreneur or not

      If you remove everything and use a reputable tuner you won't have those problems. If you use a hack job you will have all kinds of problems. Had the power set at 515/1850 and it pulls very well. Mileage varies with load and speed.

I can tell you first hand I drove one of these that was always trying to Regen, and was getting 3.5 mpg on the highway at 65 mph in a day cab and a 48’ reefer.

      @@user-ln7of9gs4s lol numbers depend on the driver, speed, part of the country, Load. It's not a one size fits all answer. 3.5 is terrible but this truck never got over 6. But I had enough power to make it somewhat ok

    I did delete mine in Marion IN, a place called "pocket" something. They did literally a horrible job. My truck used to be super awesome, but I was inexperienced and deleted it by thinking that this will prevent bad things to come. Anyway, after a year truck died completely and throughout a year it kept constantly losing power and finally it wont run over 30-35mph!!! I loved that truck so much and after 4 yrs still I havent sold it, it still sitting in the yard and I am paying parking for it. I dont know even where to take it and check it out, since dealerships wont deal with deleted emission trucks. One more thing to specify is that I did change the oil right before it died, and after 400 miles the oil got so thick and dark black colored, any idea anybody what this might have cause this ? Good luck to everybody deleting them, but I am just so afraid doing it again.

    On the drivers side of the engine you show two lines that you said you modified exhaust block off plates. @2:47 is that needed to be modified? Deleting this truck for a friend and not currently near the truck.

      Also, did you crack all the bolts loose with a 1/2 impact or by hand?

      @avenged06x yes the 2 lines you are talking about are where the exhaust exits the egr cooler and goes into the intake manifold. The reason you block those is either the egr cooler is already leaking or when it does leak the coolant can't get into the intake. Essentially makes the egr cooler and coolant tank and prevents harm to the engine.
      I used heat and broke all bolts loose by hand

      Hey Alec, appreciate your response. I've called the dealer and they claim this is the Maxxforce 13. My EGR valve appears to only be 6 bolts. Yours appears to be 8. Am I missing something here? Can I email you a picture?

      @ eddie kendall ..i threw my thermostat away a long time ago, after all its a work truck so shouldnt look at economy..its silly in my books..and these engines have many ways of overheating, egr,fan clutch issues,radiator issues,dpf if equipped, and thermostat loves messing up on these also..too many chances to have a headache..now it takes forever to warm up winter time,must use cardboard in grille,but no more issues ,..ps ,thermostat keeps fluctuating pressure in the system and these weak in egr cooler blow through, or just easier to find a weak head gasket spot,etc... no harm to engine ,all the people say things but really its still warm engine not stone cold..just cooler..2005 dt466 egr..my truck..

      DOT doesn't care about emissions in most places. Passed 2 level 1 inspections after delete was done

      Yes, but it looks very tacky. I’ve seen people use pcv pipe lol. You definitely won’t pass a visual check

    I did my delete and the guy only put a stopper in the flex hose he didn't move no fuel lines or coolant lines what do you think he was a international tech for 15 years

      Abs, traction control, transmission, and the engine and air pressure, fuel and voltage gauges work sporadically. Also when those lights are on the engine brake is always on. The last mechanic said there wastegate fault of some sort and cruise doesn’t work but will high idle in park

      @@xl_shots_3970 I don't think that is anything to do with the delete tuning. Sounds like a fault with the body control module and abs moduel.

      @@alecburril3433 body control module has been replaced and it reads abs module and electrical fault on the dash as well.

      It had an issue wher engine ran with only 3 injectors and i swapped 3 inejectors 123 and it then got this issue

      3k has the tuning for the N13. You'll have to make you own plates I believe. Still doable

      Coolant lines? The lines on front of the egr cooler to the intake? Those take the exhaust back into the engine. Yes block those off

    Well my name is Steve Donaldson I got a Lone Star 2013 with a match for 13 minute I'm trying to delete it now I had number one Turbo go out on me couldn't buy number 2 so I had to put it back together I had APC R deleted deleted not for sure what all I got to do if I got to take anything else off the engine beside the exhaust I would watch your video I didn't know if I have to get in that cooler or not that's what I got left to do right now is Take the mufflers they're apart or just put straight against on it McDonald's on it I would appreciate if you could get back with me and let me know if I need to do anything else to delete things They built the 1st Lone Star for me to drive across the country if you would like to look at that it's called driven deliver

      Hi, i been charged by local mechanics for egr delete twice. One mechanic put plates at front of egr cooler but not as shown by you in video. They charge me for programming my ecu. Still loosing power and boost after driving like 10 mins

      @@alecburril3433 I ordered the plates on Monday and received them today. Sent my ECM to 3K Calibrations on Tuesday and I'll be in tomorrow. Can't wait... What did you do to break loose the egr valve from the cooler?

      @@Cracker0309 make sure you got the bolts from the front side that thread into the valve, then a pry bar through the valve and work it up and down and it'll come loose. Let me know how you like it when it's all done

      @@alecburril3433 I finally got the install finished a couple day's ago. I drove it for the first time yesterday. I noticed a few things that concern me. One thing is when I take off or even rev it up parked, it'll start to miss a little and doesn't have that much power. The other is my oil pressure. At idle is around 20 psi but when driving it stays around 80psi +. I'm not sure if this will effect anything but i'm thinking that maybe I have a sensor either still plugged in from the egr cooler or one not plugged in. I do have the EGRT sensor still plugged into the EGR module cover that's next to the EGR outlet tubes in the front. I also have everything unplugged that goes to the DPF filter. As far as my exhaust goes, I removed the DPF filter, gutted out the DOC and installed the down pipe to the DOC to make it look like I still have the DPF filter installed. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
