Just some baltic boys who love basketball got Dirk Nowitzki on the channel DESERVING
How cool is Dirk. I started to watch and love basketball because of him. I am from Greece i remember at EuroBasket 2005 i really felt bad for Dirk. Respect is the best athlete inside and outside the court.
i had 12 yrs watched it live dirk tok germany to finals alone whole belgrade arena was rootin for greece
Now we felt bad for Giannis 😂
Dirk my favorite European player of all time
he was one for me aswell but jok man hes different
Jok is coming...he is coming strong...
@@minnuss favorite =/= best

Dirk is the best dude. Such a humble human being. I am so glad that he gave his all to our national team for all those years. What a legend!
what he did in 2011 is unheard of. Also his standing ovation against Greece in Euro final was truly amazing. Lots of love from Greece
Standing ovations was from Serbian fans in the Arena of Belgrade
@@ralezvezdas disagree my friend , I was there and it was the whole stadium
@@chrisd997 yes well my friend me too and I remember very well that the Greeks booed him when he left the field.
@@ralezvezdaslmfao who’s right now 😂
@@ralezvezdasyes the Euro Final
In Serbia waa against Greece. Greek fans cannot have booed him when many lpve him. Maybe it was Spanish fans.
Diiiiiirk Nowitzkiii😮😮😮
Wow! Quality content all the way! From the way host set the mood and asked interesting questions, down to editing and set.. right on guys. A+ guest and u did not disappoint. Top level Lithuanian content.
Man, you definitely need guts to invite a player like Dirk to your channel. The fact he showed up is more than a compliment to your channel. Love your show guys...
What a legend, allways was my favorite NBA player, even over my Serbian fella Peja Stojakovic. Dirk's humble dude, same as Jokic who resembles him in many ways on and of the court, at that 2005 Eurobasket in Belgrade 20.000 people gave him standing ovation after loosing in the finals. He cried and said that love from, mostly Serbian fans, was really something special and it was suprise for him. What a tournament he had back then, what a time to be basketball fan, it was one of the best individual performances in the history of Eurobasket.
Great interviewer! And Dirk is as great and humble as always.
I really appreciate how humble and honest Dirk is. 🙏🏽
Dirk is a Legend! D. Urbonas is a superstar in his field! Great conversation👏 standing ovation for you both 👏💪 Thank you 😎
Great Interview! Much love from Germany!❤
Come on Guys…you’re already the best basketball platform in Europe by far…and now bringing on my huge idol, the humble Dirk…💚🔥💯
RESPECT AND KEEP GOIN GUYS❗️
Has Dirk developed some kind of teleport ability? I see him everywhere lately.
I think he is a FIBA ambassador. That's why you see him at a lot of games.
@@davinnicode No, he is currently Chairman of FIBA Players' Commission. So, pretty high rank position in FIBA, that is why you can see him omnipresent on every international competition...
P. S.And of course, he is there to cheer Germany :)
This man put up the greastest playoff run in NBA history. Legend dirk

Urbonas is trying to hide his 12 years' old enthusiasm meeting his idol.I would had acted exactly the same.

Everybody loves Dirk
Amazing guest, keep it up :)
Legend!
Legend 😮😮
Great interview, thank you so much 👍
Imagine Dirk being born 15 years later.
That German team would be some crazy stuff
I think Dirk inspired this generation. I don't think the current team would be as good without him starting a basketball movement in Germany back in the day.
It was crazy enough stuff back then, Dirk didn't have so strong team around him as today German team is, but that was magic of Dirk, literary everything was going through him... In today team he would not need to play 50% of plays he did back than...
WOW !!
Short and sweet
3:19 you're welcome
No way Dirk is here 😮.
Btw I wouldn't mind if every best league in the world call their winners world champions.
But only Americans do that.
Real Madrid in football is definitely (especially now with mbappe 💀) better than Argentina.
But they still don't call themselves World Champions.
theyre not even calling themselves the best in the World after winning the Champions League... Nobody in Europe does that. Its called respect towards the Players, Clubs and Confederations around the World
Ronaldo's Real Madrid would wipe their a$$ with this Real, but I get your point
@@BC-th3mx
Ronaldo's team is far better I agree but mostly due too having prime Modric, prime Kroos and Casemiro in it.
I won in my hood one on one competition..and we called me world champion of one on one
Nah don't do that, Argentina would destroy Real Madrid
Dirk will become a podcaster
I personally want one thing: US should always bring their A-Team for every Tournament. If they dominate: totaly fine with it. The Rest of the World deserve it. Right now, international Basketball is so much fun to watch
FIBA should do a better job in promoting and marketing its World Cup like FIFA does. They haven't reached the same kind of global exposure like the Olympics, which is why some bigger stars choose to sit out.
The Olympic Games in football are literally the opposite of the Olympic Games in basketball, because the best players do not play due to the age limit, and for basketball it is not FIBA's fault, but the American Basketball Association, because it does not send the best players to the world championship in basketball, and if they did, it would be viewed like the Olympic Games !!! All countries send their best to the world championship, except America, and this is precisely the proof that the American federation is to blame, not FIBA!!!
@@LovelyJubbly18 it is not the NBA who sends the players, it is the players own choice to play or not.
@@gabepizza And who prevents them from playing??? Likewise, who prevents,(not always but often) European players from playing for their teams at the World Cup??? Who blackmails them financially for the same thing, both players and countries in case of player injury at the World Cup?
NBA clubs with all the permission of basketball institutions, and all because of money, and they do the same for American basketball players !!!
FIBA has done a better job recently, and I'm not putting any blame here. I agree with you that the NBA has been stubborn, but FIBA has to come up with a value proposition that makes the WC more attractive. Prestige increases when pro leagues all over the world achieve more prominence vis-a-vis the NBA, just like how there are at least four or five marquee pro leagues in football. NBA franchises are also protecting the careers of their players. Yao Ming's career is a cautionary tale for all those who put country above self. A reasonable balance must be struck. Maybe FIBA and the IOC can agree on an under-23 model for basketball at the Olympics, so the FIBA WC becomes the more prestigious competition.
Jokic, Giannis… they didn’t participate in the last fiba World Cup
Fun to see how American the way he deals with the interview: Always positive and concise, delivers his message clearly.
Now somebody tell the nba to rename their champion. Dirk said it. Its law now.
Why so short interview?
Damn boys, next is Po or Lebron to this podcast ? :D
DIRK!
if you close your eyes, and listen to Nowitzki, you can hear Arnold schwarzenegger talking
I know it's hard for Usians to understand, but world champion is a country, Denver Nuggets isn't a country...
Even if they win Olympics they're Olympics champions, Germany remains world champion until the next world championship...
Winning an NBA is making you a USA champion, winning AmeriCup makes you a champions of Americas, winning an Euro makes you an European champion, world championship world champion, Olympics Olympics champion... It's that easy.
Ohhhh so even tho the Olympics has all the best players and the World Cup has me and you playing it doesn’t matter 😂😂
@@diffizzle8630it's teams decision who will they sent tho, I'm only saying what stats will say
@@diffizzle8630 yes exactly. If you are not competing for the world championship in the world cup you can not become world champions. World champion and best team in the world are two separate things. At the Olympics you can win the Olympics, not the world championship.
@@deerhandle false, teams and players choose and since most top tier players don’t play the world championship it really shouldn’t be considered but I understand why Europeans would want it to carry more significance
@@lukakaps9548 lol this is even more ridiculous than the NBA calling its winner “World Champion”
Right now, NBA champs can consider themselves world champs since there is a huge gap in skill in euro leagues best teams and even mid ranked NBA teams. HOWEVER. Imagine a scenario where an NBA expansion team went to Europe. They would share NBA TV deals and revenue and would instantly become a billion dollar team. It’s not hard to imagine some of Europe’s best stars or even Americans wanting a European lifestyle wanting to play for that European NBA team and even take a pay cut to be closer to friends and family in Europe. A team that took a lot of the European stars could defiantly win the championship.
Why would the National Basketball Association of the USA own a team in europe where other national leagues already exist?
You confuse World Champion with best in the World. To be the World Champion you need to win the World Championship. In the NBA you can win the NBA championship. In football (this one ⚽) everybody agrees that the winner of the Champions League is probably better than the winner of the World Cup. At least Real Madrid are certainly better than Argentina, but calling Real Madrid the World Champs would be ridiculous, since they did not win the World Cup. Argentina is not winner of the Champions League because they won the World Cup. Two different tournaments, two different titles, simple as that.
Manchester City would be the world champion in your logic. But that’s dumb.
@@ouicertes9764they own a team in Canada where there is a Canadian national league
Franz Wagner 🏀🇩🇪❤️🔥🙌
Everything was always about business. You're just getting older and suddenly noticing, getting a different perception on the backstage affairs.
How cooll is this channel?
man im Lithuanian but i grew with my dad praising Dirk for all he did for German basketball like covering his own insurance fees just to represent the national team. the talent, the heart, the legend. bro doesnt have enemies (unless you're Heat fan). Dirk, 🫡
Whether Germany won Gold in the Olympics this year. they can claim as World Champions as FIBA World Cup Champions not from the Olympics
Joel mchale looks kinda odd in the thumbnail
The 2011 Mavs faced the best players the world had to offer. The 2023 Germany national team did not
I mean the winner of the Championsleague in football doesn't call themselves world champion neither, despite winning the best league in the world. Instead of the dumb nba cup do a cup against the best teams in the world. If you win it, than fine call yourselves world champion.
NBA champs are at least "best club team in the world", can earn the world club title by beating the Euroleague champions.
They were lucky in the final of WC 2023...
A fool Greece with Sloukas, Papapetrou, Rogkavopoulos, Kostas and Thanasis Antetokounmpo would be much better and beat Germany.
Thats very childish what you do. Take the defeat as a real man and stop crying.
Disliked just for that stupid ad. I pay YT premium to not see them for a reason
His accent sounds a bit like Borat
Have u ever heard german accent?:)
