That’s when a motorcycle was a motorcycle and rides were tough .. not like the weekend rainbow snowflakes of today of to the posh cafe for eggs Benedict…and a posh coffee…
Reminds me so much of the scrambles at Tweesledown, Pirbright and Biggin Hill I used to attend back in the 60's. Arthur Lampkin comes immediately to mind. Also the speedway at Wimbledon. Go the Dons! Often went to Brands Hatch to see riders such as Hailwood, Read, Ivy, Cooper and Agonstini.

I am sure we were happier in those days.. Life was so much simpler was it not ?? Having said that I would not have seen this vid in the good old days would I ?????? Well of course I would in black and white on T.V. where it probably came from . I always remember the Army taking on civilians at scrambling and general off roading ??
We would still have progressed in technology. H&S enforced by insurance companies and higher demand on land have put paid to some of the freedoms we enjoyed
What a lovely vid. Many things have changed since those days…..but not the weather in Wales! 😉☔️
Thanks for the memories I raced bsa at the scrambles and a 350 bsa gold star on the short circuit as a young man.

Ah, yes. When we froze our nuts in wet wool, cardboard waxed cotton and sodden leather boots. When the men were men- and so were the women!

Modern riders wouldn't do this

Got to love the combination at 12:45, 2 adults, 2 children and a caravan! That's working hard. Looks like a Panther.
Isn't it amazing.....a small tumple today would do £3000 worth of damage to the plastics😢
You could always pick it up and continue!!
In Europe only rich people had a car 🚗. In USA every body had a 🚗 which is why we had Jeeps.
Motocross for fat old guys. Those were the days.
