2:02 I didn't know that Molly Ringwald was in this movie. She had barely aged, at that time. The kid actor who is friends with "Karl," later did a movie about a kid who rides his horse cross-country to find his dad, who's away on a job, after the kids caretaker gramma passed away unexpectedly. Then he did a weird movie about golf, with the guy who "loves the smell of napalm in the morning." The kid, later, as an adult, did some great conservative, family movies, as well.
Wow. This is the Karl character, the twitchy, head bobbing, self reaffirming psycho/hero that the world needs!! That performance was upsetting, gripping and poignant. I can imagine being in the room, trying to stayed prepared for anything while looking causal, anything to keep him from suddenly seeing red. It's sad this wasn't the version I first watched. I enjoyed the Hollywood release or whatever but this Karl, this is the vision of Billy-Bobs monster that every kid would want to be on Halloween. Absolutely brilliant, outstanding performance and I bet Karl REALLY scared Molly in real life. People can't fake the eye twitches, Karl is contagious! I hope the rest can be viewed.
The movie has a bunch of weird problems like how here they say he doesnt like the light or being asked questions but every scene after he seems to be fine? lol personally about this scene I feel its about the same slightly better here just in the movie the girl reacting has no reaction so it kinda ruins it
This is a short film sort of like a "demo". Often times filmmakers make these to show to investors or distributors to get financial backing to make the actual movie. Sam raimi did the same thing with evil dead
i like how in this version he tells her to leave because of her reaction think that was better than him just saying leave in the movie didnt make as much sense there
@@numberratingreviewchannel The photographer laughed at something Woolridge had said. That was most likely what caused Woolridge to ask her to step out.
NO, That's the character. The character supposed to be uncomfortable in society. Because they've been locked up for god knows how long. He wasn't even heavier in the moving with Demi Moore and Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson. He's at the crack table. h He tells Woody Harolson, "Do you think she'll come back?" shotgun back
I forgot just what a great movie this was.

@@doctorfeinstone6524 I'm grateful that this got picked up bc Sling Blade is a masterpiece
@@MelancoliaISome call it a Kaiser blade. I reckon.
Brilliant!
Ive just watched sling blade tonight whats this its the same but it isn't???
This is the concept short Billy Bob Thornton put together to help finance the full film.
I prefer this version of the monologue and Molly is underrated in my opinion
Molly should be killed and burned mhm
You know it's low budget when they return the shirt to Kmart afterwards
French fries taters! 😃
umm hummm I reckon Id like some mustard on em.
Karl as a monster. Beautiful :D
Just noticed that one of the reporters is Molly Ringwald. Hmmm…
This movie is never on cable???
The doctor seems too nervous in this. Like he should be a patient
I thought the short story was better than the full length version.

Billy gained so much weight for this role. It's almost like he's uncomfortable in his own skin for this monolog

The only movie that EVER makes you feel sorry for a serial killer!!! Smh.
Not a serial but love him
Why this picture in black and white and it could be in color ????
3.33
Cheaper to shoot b&w
This is B.S.
cmon ..where is the color?!?!?!
I believe this is the short film that was adapted into the future
