This video was very, very helpful... In addition to the cleaning tips shown here, I placed my filter in warm water for about 30 seconds and then wiped it clean as using a cloth and compressed air didn’t get it totally clean....It was 100% clean after the water bath...
Thanks for the video. I cleaned my wife's hairdryer intially but then used the toothbrush as described on the filter and it worked a treat. Many thanks!
I didn't use compressed air, but wrapped my hand around the opening after removing the filter and held a vacuum hose, pulling air through. got it clear. So the air actually ran backwards through the dryer and I heard the fan spinning some so got a good cleaning...
Very helpful video thanks. I used hot water plus washing up liquid and scrubbed it underwater with a toothbrush, then rinsed through with hot water. It all came off within about 10 minutes. My wife doesn’t used any spray products so it’s just dust buildup which was enough after a year or two to stop it working. Do Dyson expect you to throw it away and buy another one? The filter should be a user accessible part and be cleanable without special tools and techniques. Btw, it’s a T6 not a T5 to undo the two screws.
Tried cleaning with all of the methods but it just wasnt getting it 100% so I used a steam cleaner on the filter (obviously removed from dryer) and now as clean as a whistle and performing as it should.
I accidentally spilled a little bit juice on the concentrator attachment. I wiped it as much as possible but I’m nervous some may have gotten in the tiny space inside. Do you know if I can just rinse the concentrator in water? I’m too nervous to wet it I don’t want to ruin it lol
My Dyson has power and the left side of purple lights are blinking continuously so if I go through this process will this possibly allow my fan motor to restart which is currently not working?
Hi Ivan I cleaned my dryer’s filter as per your video but it is still making a really bad noise when I switch it on I know it’s definitely related to cleaning as it’s not the first time and up until now I have sent it into dyson for cleaning is there anything thing you can think of that needs cleaning beside the filter and if so can you tell me how thanks
miriam jarzin the motor probably has hair slowing it down. I saw another video where the motor had a small amount of hair in it but it was enough to shut down the entire dryer.
