At 63 it seems I learn something new nearly every day that I wish I had learned earlier in my life: like how easily something as beautiful as this presentation can bring tears to my eyes. O Magnum Magnificent!
I've grown to love the repertoire and musicianship of this brilliant choir. So, again, thank you for something so beautiful on an overcast Saturday afternoon.
Mr. Gjeilo did write this one. He is a terrific composer. His Sunrise Mass is absolutely gorgeous, particularly the last movement, "The Gound", which can be heard here in TH-cam.
It is as if this music has been written to let a heart of stone melt.... and get soft., and full, and deep..... its beyond all that is common.... its very moving.....
I can't believe it! At my ripe old age I am falling in love with yet another composer. Ola! You are WONDERFUL!!! Thank you for writing to beautifully and inspiringly!
Just sang this for Christmas. So beautiful! We had a cello rather than a violin, which I think was more soulful. Though I think this choir has us beat for the purity of the sound.

Hi! This piece is indeed written by Ola Gjeilo. Morten Lauridsen has composed another beautiful piece with the same lyrics and title"O Magnum Mysterium",which we also have recorded on our CD "The Darkness is No Darkness".
Wonderful. I am glad to know this Choir and their singing. I have already the experience to sing in some choirs, however, this is absolutely amazingly!!
Hi! Yes, @olagjeilo sure is a great composer and we love to sing his work. Please go to our video channel and look for another piece from Ola, called "Phoenix". Enjoy!
Latin text O magnum mysterium, et admirabile sacramentum, ut animalia viderent Dominum natum, jacentem in praesepio! Beata Virgo, cujus viscera meruerunt portare Dominum Christum. Alleluia. English translation O great mystery, and wonderful sacrament, that animals should see the new-born Lord, lying in a manger! Blessed is the Virgin whose womb was worthy to bear Christ the Lord. Alleluia!
Beautiful! For those who love his music, check out iTunes' BEST OF 2012... Ola's album of choral music was just named Best Classical Vocal Album of 2012!
Fantastic! I was really impressed with your work! Congratulations to the conductor and the wonderful voices of the choir! How could acquire this score? If possible, I'd love to!
I love the precision (generally) of European choirs. Get the notes right, first and foremost, because that's what the composer wrote. Other aspects will follow.
Why is the violinist in the front of the choir? He should be on the side, the singers are more important! IMO. BTW, awesome heavenly sound, really soothing and inspiring
You are very good and Gjeilo is a real genius! My choir sang "Days of Beauty" and "The Rose" using a new arrangement and adapting the songs for male and female choir, making spectacular videos with stunning scenery and views. Write this in the search: I hope you like it! Corale Novarmonia - Days of Beauty (O. Gjeilo) SATB Choir Corale Novarmonia - The Rose (O. Gjeilo)
The circle round!
It doesn’t sound right with a violin playing. It requires a much deeper, richer sound like the cello. The choir was excellent, however…. Get rid of the violin and use a cello would make it perfect.

I've never heard a choir so perfectly in sync with one another. The blend, the shape, the dynamics; it all happens as one voice. It's breathtaking
My thoughts exactly.

Bob Jefferys you’re still a young boy
Wonderful, Bob. Sadly, so few of us in our third life can say this. You have a companion on your journey, even though we will never meet.
Amazing !
i LIKE TO SING WITH THIS MARVELLOUS CHOIR. SO SWEET, SO HEAVENLY, SO LIGHTLY
I've grown to love the repertoire and musicianship of this brilliant choir. So, again, thank you for something so beautiful on an overcast Saturday afternoon.

Who are the trolls that can give this a "thumbs down"? This is astounding in its beauty!

Stunning piece of music, love every moment. Thank you for creating this for us.

LORD JESUS CHRIST, have mercy on us all - truly, it is a blessing to behold such eloquence as this. ❤️💛💚
Jesus was just a man and God doesn't exist. Just FYI.

Wow.... wow..... I can't say anything.... Wow.....
GAH. I WANT MORE! ALL OF IT! Please. Tell me where can I find more.

Wow, I've never heard his music before, but this is beautiful. Does anyone have a link to sheet music?
💜💙💚
The overtones o: wow
Thanks! :)
I wanted more consonants. I just hear vowels with this group, give me hard T's and a "K" on Christum.
It's a noun not a vowel

@bennih1990 it does...

😢
But wasn't this piece of music was written by Morten Lauridsen? Ola Gjeilo is a Norwegian pianist.
La música es parte de Dios.
Whose making that noise in the back ground? go out if you cant be quiet
This sounds like what you'd hear after an epic anime battle

It's not just you.
Ahh, I would really2 love this recording if there was no coughing sound just like in 1:36
is it just me or does it really sound like the lord of the rings?
No! You are not the only one.

I think Ola Gjeilo would be discontent with this arrangement. Originally it is composed with choir and cello.
Sounds to me like he doesn't disapprove when he's actually posting this on his own Facebook timeline today. Very beautiful performance!
OK. If he is content with this, then I withdraw everything I said.
He wrote it for choir with cello or violin solo.
Frodo!
It doesn’t sound right with a violin playing. It requires a much deeper, richer sound like the cello. The choir was excellent, however…. Get rid of the violin and use a cello would make it perfect.
