Why Do Authors Write In Third Person?

If it is a romance book, maybe you would like to read from a first person perspective. But if it is some complicated genre like fantasy, writing from 3rd person point of view is BEST because literally there are so many characters and each one need separate attention. Plus the complex concepts involved in fantasy and sci fi are best to be explained through third person perspective
