I'm afraid that singing Nadir wasn't the best artistic decision of Juan Diego Florez. Somehow his usually gorgeous voice doesn't sound good in this duet and generally in this production - it's "dry", colourless, it doesn't "ring" and is lacking its usual brightness. Maybe to some degree it is also a matter of recording and maybe it wasn't his good day... However the interpretation is sensitive and refined and some moments (piana) are beautiful...
