Who is a notable muslim leader in south asia in your opinion? If you meant political leaders, I can name Suhrawardy and Fazlul haq as examples. If you meant religious leaders, I can name Shamsul Haque Faridpuri. If you meant that Bengalis haven’t produced a notable muslim leader in the recent decades or so, I have to ask: who has? There is not a single person today who can claim leadership of all or even a majority of south asian muslims today or even in the last 200 years. Even figures like Jinnah only had sway over the muslims of pakistan(mostly west pakistan) and north india. And even if we somehow say Jinnah was someone who could claim some form of leadership among most south asian muslims, he was a gujarati of mujahir background, so not from a large muslim ethnic group by any measure.

i think i always get what you are trying to say. the "heaven" part of the discussion ha surprised me so much because how on earth i don't know- you exactly have described me. i am 29 years old. i consider Islam as a religion and culture as the main part of my identity for life and eternity. yes, i listen to songs, watch movies, often misses prayers than performing on time and keep doing so many sins (sin. not crime) according to my religion. i live in a country where my youth is being destroyed bit by bit everyday. the only thing that keep me going is the concept of heaven and Allah's mercy/surprising forgiveness for the sinners for one of the noble act they have committed in their life. i sincerely wish, InshaAllah i will do something in life which will be rewarded with Allah's unconditional forgiveness and at least the lowest place of heaven. i often get highly frustrated at the Islam i see being practiced all over the world. i have my doubts about some religious aspects. but I always pray may Allah let me choose belief over doubt. if i ever lose my belief about afterlife, i will literally lose all hope. and losing hope is pretty much losing life.

Before becoming a Muslim Hindustani people only had their culture so you can't judge the religion by them In one day a person can't get the whole concept of our almighty creator Allah's holy book . We are shunni Muslim, as our forefathers heard from other Muslims or misguiders then followed it as Islam. Culturally influence is what built us into what we are today, We still eat rice , wear sari but now with blouse after learning Islam by the Quran itself. There was a time humans didn't know if they even needed to cover their body and that's also your forefathers origin. Back then they didn't know or they couldn't get a hold of themselves because of Dominating Hindustani culturally influence but now they know how to cover themselves properly and you'll see them everywhere . সালাফি হুজুরদের নিয়ে কি যেন বললো গান শোনা হারাম । আমার মতো কিছু বাঙালি এই বিশ্বাস করে গান শোনা হারাম। যার কারনে ব্যাধ্ড মিউজিক করা বড় ভাইও দেখি গান শোনে , কিন্তু গান বাজধা করা একদম বাদ দিয়ে দিছে ,এই চেন্জটা আমি ধরতে পারছি। আর আপনি আগের ভিডিও গুলো দেখেন ,উনি বলতে চাইছেন বাঙালি মুসলমান বাঙালি হতে পারবে নাহ । আর হবেই কেন তার লক্ষ্য এবং উদ্দেশ্য একজন হিন্দুর থেকে ভিন্ন , তার মানসিকতা বাঙালি হলেই কি না হলেই কি ,আমার সমাজের অনেক কিছুই ইসলাম ধর্মের সাথে মিলে নাহ, যেমন বিয়ে , জন্মদিন,চল্লিশা । এজন্য আমি সমাজ ত্যাগ করতে রাজি , এবং আমার দলে আরও লোক আছে 🙂 ।

How do you sure that a community with metaphysical ideology will adhere Islamic moral code ? Moral code changes with time. Why someone cannot be enough Bengali ? What would prevent one to be "Bangali". DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF BANGALI ? Atleast your entire lecture is in Bengali and interestingly, your Bengali diction is not rustic and sophisticated one. So why are you shrugging off your Bangaliyana or Bangalideshiana ?

But to advance in life from dire situation you need a great purpose. The tech boom is caused by some dreamers and admirer of great purpose. May be muslims purpose is different but like tech gurus they also look for purposes. There are cultures amongst Bangladeshi middle class muslims who are resistant to change. But that is caused by sub continental mindset, not due to "true religious mindset". So I think as long as we despite from being rarely "veto bangali", we will be okay without oil or any natural resources. [But to be fare, we have good natural resources as well]
Nigeria, Venezuela, Mozambique have lots of oil and natural resources. But they are poor. Every country on earth are strong consumers of technology. Who is a notable muslim leader in south asia in your opinion? If you meant political leaders, I can name Suhrawardy and Fazlul haq as examples. If you meant religious leaders, I can name Shamsul Haque Faridpuri. If you meant that Bengalis haven’t produced a notable muslim leader in the recent decades or so, I have to ask: who has? There is not a single person today who can claim leadership of all or even a majority of south asian muslims today or even in the last 200 years. Even figures like Jinnah only had sway over the muslims of pakistan(mostly west pakistan) and north india. And even if we somehow say Jinnah was someone who could claim some form of leadership among most south asian muslims, he was a gujarati of mujahir background, so not from a large muslim ethnic group by any measure.

i think i always get what you are trying to say. the "heaven" part of the discussion ha surprised me so much because how on earth i don't know- you exactly have described me. i am 29 years old. i consider Islam as a religion and culture as the main part of my identity for life and eternity. yes, i listen to songs, watch movies, often misses prayers than performing on time and keep doing so many sins (sin. not crime) according to my religion. i live in a country where my youth is being destroyed bit by bit everyday. the only thing that keep me going is the concept of heaven and Allah's mercy/surprising forgiveness for the sinners for one of the noble act they have committed in their life. i sincerely wish, InshaAllah i will do something in life which will be rewarded with Allah's unconditional forgiveness and at least the lowest place of heaven. i often get highly frustrated at the Islam i see being practiced all over the world. i have my doubts about some religious aspects. but I always pray may Allah let me choose belief over doubt. if i ever lose my belief about afterlife, i will literally lose all hope. and losing hope is pretty much losing life.

সালাফি হুজুরদের নিয়ে কি যেন বললো গান শোনা হারাম । আমার মতো কিছু বাঙালি এই বিশ্বাস করে গান শোনা হারাম। যার কারনে ব্যাধ্ড মিউজিক করা বড় ভাইও দেখি গান শোনে , কিন্তু গান বাজধা করা একদম বাদ দিয়ে দিছে ,এই চেন্জটা আমি ধরতে পারছি।
আর আপনি আগের ভিডিও গুলো দেখেন ,উনি বলতে চাইছেন বাঙালি মুসলমান বাঙালি হতে পারবে নাহ । আর হবেই কেন তার লক্ষ্য এবং উদ্দেশ্য একজন হিন্দুর থেকে ভিন্ন , তার মানসিকতা বাঙালি হলেই কি না হলেই কি ,আমার সমাজের অনেক কিছুই ইসলাম ধর্মের সাথে মিলে নাহ, যেমন বিয়ে , জন্মদিন,চল্লিশা । এজন্য আমি সমাজ ত্যাগ করতে রাজি , এবং আমার দলে আরও লোক আছে 🙂 ।

Nothing is permanent. Roman civilization which ruled with glory for about 1500 years ruined. Even religious morality will change with time. Christianity is divided into many cults. Islam also in many cults, but Sunni Muslim does not recognize others as true Muslim. So Bangali Muslim and Hindustani Muslim concept would also not be relevant in due course of time. We only rely with ongoing fact, as it is difficult perceive what would be after century. Therefore, if someone think being Bangladeshi is hardcore truth, then there is nothing wrong, nothing impractical. Metaphysics is not a small word. It does not necessarily attached with any religious belief or connotation. Therefore, religion and metaphysics is not a right approach with the rigour of philosophical argument. How do you sure that a community with metaphysical ideology will adhere Islamic moral code ? Moral code changes with time. Why someone cannot be enough Bengali ? What would prevent one to be "Bangali". DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF BANGALI ? Atleast your entire lecture is in Bengali and interestingly, your Bengali diction is not rustic and sophisticated one. But to advance in life from dire situation you need a great purpose. The tech boom is caused by some dreamers and admirer of great purpose. May be muslims purpose is different but like tech gurus they also look for purposes. There are cultures amongst Bangladeshi middle class muslims who are resistant to change. But that is caused by sub continental mindset, not due to "true religious mindset". So I think as long as we despite from being rarely "veto bangali", we will be okay without oil or any natural resources. [But to be fare, we have good natural resources as well]
Nigeria, Venezuela, Mozambique have lots of oil and natural resources. But they are poor. Every country on earth are strong consumers of technology. But having a great economy relies on an efficient government. A Hindutva dominated secular Awami government in no way or shape is pursuing Islamic agenda.
