Ed Sheeran wrote this song for his grandmother, but this song and its lyrics I think could have been written specifically for a young Allie Sherlock who had just lost her Mum a few years before ! Something that always catches my attention when I watch this special Allie video, in the song when Allie sings the word Mum, twice you will see a little hand movement she has, I always wonder the third time Mum comes up in the song Allie is off camera if that hand movement happened again ! 🎤🎸🎼

Glad you did this comparison with the current cover featuring Awllie with Fionn Whelan who is the same age as Allie was when her version went viral and got her noticed internationally !! There are many more great performers on Grafton St. in Dublin . DCT (www.youtube.com/@dublincitytoday) does a fine job of showcasing the talent...shout out to Sean ! Expect to see more of Fionn especially since Allie has done a number of duets with him !!
