    John Deere has a couple of those new 9000 Series Forage Harvesters with the incredible new JD 18L Engines out in the Northeast States demonstrating the capabilities of the largest and most powerful Deere engine to date, and NO DEF!!
    I think this unit was in NY earlier this week.
    I hope y'all have a good one!

      It was one hell of a impressive machine. The no def is a huge selling point for people I believe. This one is our dealers so it’s just in Vermont I believe.

      @802Farmers Yes, you're correct, the one in NY was a 9700, which is rated at 800HP, the highest HP 18L.

      Lots of power. More than we need on our farm. Lol

      I've never said something has too much power, more is always better, IMHO. 👍

      The really big ones are sucking so much fuel when they are working those engines all day they have to be fueled up during the day. It’s a lot of power but also big diesel drinkers. Now they are more productive for gallons per acre chopping but that only comes Into play if they are working at max load all day.

    Great video and definitely a nice machine! I just got a chance to demo a new 8400i and was impressed of how much more it could chop compared to our 8300.

    wow that just eats the grass , what a machine that is , but as you said you would need more trucks to keep up , i don't think i would want to know the price of that , but what a piece of kit

    • @802Farmers
      @802Farmers  ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely is a eating machine. But yes the price is too much.

    Even if you don't need it, it's still fun to run it once in a while.

      We aren’t gonna say no to a demo. Always great to see whats changed and see our options in the future when the time does come again.

    The green ones have a lot in common with the currency. The red ones, could put you there. The Yellow ones (JCB or the New Holland combines) will make you pee your pants. The blue ones will make you feel that way. I left out a few, but they all are $$$. It really comes down to the value it adds to your operation.

      What really sells John Deere choppers in our area is our local main John Deere chopper mechanic. Roger. He gives amazing service and love or hate a brand that is what truly sells the machine to the customers

      @@802Farmers Yes 100%, Tractor wise we run 100% deere. Other brands of interest, no one remotely close, and even so, if service was lacking, it wouldn't matter.

    How many chopping hours a year do you think you would save..

    • @802Farmers
      @802Farmers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honesty only would in corn. It will eat a lot more corn than ours and then we would have the trucks to keep up too. In grass not too many more for us to notice because right now with the rake we Arn’t making wind rows big enough to really feed it.

    • @802Farmers
