    My ultimate goal is to enjoy progression, so i like it when quests, rather than outright giving you a huge useful reward ITEM, open you up to Postquest Content to complete.

    The issue with low requirements for quests is that new and returning players have so many things to do right at that moment rather than things to look forward to. Desert treasure is an old quest to old players but is a new experience to a new player who has never done it before. Instead, now there’s a bajillion things someone can do at a lower level that it just overwhelms a new player. I think the best way to go about this is similar to the pontifex ring like was mentioned, but more importantly massively overhauling the path system.

      This is something I talk about A LOT. Even the interfaces are extremely overwhelming. I get very overwhelmed everytime I take a long break and come back.

    i have my quest cape and i don’t share RS Guy fact of space skipping quest.. it would need pages of dialogue to explain just how good and rich runescape lore and quest development is… PROPS TO EVERYONE THAT HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THAT 👏🏼

    I think it's worth mentioning how upper management said that newer content needs to have some accessibility to the majority of the playerbase. This is why gwd3 has less quest requirements and gwd, and has "easy modes." I appreciate how jagex can at least still give something to the players that play regularly like hard mode and other new gear and training methods.
    I think this should be brought up everytime someone mentions gwd3 as "mid level" content.

      I like the easy mode versions of ed3 bosses as it can be a good springboard to get players into the content. As long as we can still get hardmode to challenge us.

      I am not opposed to them having a "Practice mode" or even "Story Mode" like how Elite Dungeons has, but making specific end game rewards available to mid tier PvM shouldn't be available..
      These sort of things are game breaking issues presently.
      I understand having that comfort to learn but its very problematic and demotivating for players who go to more difficult bosses to feel less rewarded for something that is no longer useful to them at all.

    I think the situation with the comp cape accurately reflects how the rest of the game design is having an identity crisis.
    Changes are being made, they're attempting to modernize and improve it, but a lack of commitment and vision for what the game NEEDS to be is holding that progress back. The inability to decide if Comp capes should be progression indicators (demonstrating various levels of 'completionism"), or just a representation of playstyle (going grindy content) is just another example of how Runescape isn't really sure of what "Runescape" is supposed to be.

      To add, Comp cape is not as prestigious as it used to be anymore, it only reflects one is capable of playing the game to such extent and not every player in game has the commitment to do so, there's even content creators who already said they have no interest in getting comp, i believe only Twitch streamers and pvm'ers have comp, at least the popular ones (edit: on the content creation sphere).
      Also, consider the following: How many players in the Max Guild actually have a Quest Cape (let alone MQC), how many of them are interested in getting Comp?
      The game does a bad job in setting goals for the players and i get it, the freedom to do whatever you feel like is there, but when the game doesn't even have a clear tutorial to tell new players what to do, it's no surprise it fails to guide maxed players onto their next goal. There's a reason many, many reddit posts ask for guidance and ask people what they did after max or how do people introduce their friends to the game for the first time (because out tutorial is all over the place).

    The original comp cape rework design would have been so good in fixing all this - 3 tiers of capes in each section of the achievements similar to the diary task sets, then you get the 'overall' cape (comp section) if you do all of that tier in all the other sections. Regular comp would be all the 'easy' tier achievements in every section, "comp+" as Mod Jack is calling it in this video would be all the 'medium' tier achievements, and trim would be all the hard tier.. But too many people thought that was confusing somehow and we ended up with just removing castle wars and reaper.

      I'd rather do reaper or castle wars than tasks for a piece of content that's been dying slowly for over 8 years.

      @@djert24 I didn't find the dungeoneering ones that bad, just finding pages and doing the sagas, right? A few of the pages took a little while longer than expected (mostly the ones that only come from specific bosses) but those could easily be improved with a new reward space to increase or guarantee page drops - possibly a motherlode maw enhancer or a high lvl invention consumable rather than completely removing the req.

      @@djert24 They shouldn't remove anything, if anything they should be continuing to add more. They need to bring the "dead" content back to life and give players a reason to do it as opposed to just making it easier to get something that is supposed to be impressive and prestigious.

    I feel like comp is in need of a major rework for sure. I'm 4 requirements away from my comp cape. The only problem I'm really having is the speed of ports and other time gated requirements (some of which I had no clue were time gated i.e. in memorial of the myreque). The biggest problem with doing achievements are the older achievements(bones to peaches for example) They're not worth doing from a casual standpoint. I've achieved comp max and I'm not gonna be going to gwd3 and using bones to peaches for food. I think what would be beneficial in the long run would to do one thing. Era(or tiered) Completionist capes. Now hear me out. You could do different levels of the comp cape based on a time frame, i.e putting all the older content in one tier(bones to peaches, livid farm, so on so forth)on top of the basic comp requirements (Quest cape, master skiller, taskmaster,music maestro) to award you a basic completionist cape. Then do another tier that's a step up from that has time gated content, or grindier things. You could add rewards upon completing each tier of completionist (Cosmetic upgrades and even stat upgrades) and at certain points, be able to take the idea from osrs of adding lets say...the inferno cape to your max cape to make it inherit the stats and provide a cosmetic upgrade. you could add this with each tier, being able to add kiln capes(or your zuk capes) to your comp cape to upgrade it(and they also inherit the effects of said cape). By adding tiers or era's, a player can be awarded a completionist cape and keep it forever. The choice would be theirs to pursue the tier upgrades until they reach trimmed completionist. some rewards I think would be cool (cosmetic wise) is upon getting to a tier, you would get an untradeable treasure trail Cape dye(Barrows, shadow, ice, blood, the works). to add as a color option to your comp cape. The comp cape could also feature extra cosmetics as well, like adding symbols(like on skillcapes) to show...like, i've achieved 120 in all skills or something along the lines, maybe even be able to add veteran capes to the comp cape to unlock the age symbols. This would also make things possible, for a true trimmed cape. By doing things this way, it wouldn't take away the difficulty, but rather break things down, and give that sense of progression.

      As a comp onwer; older achievements are fun to see the history of runescape. yes is not usefull anymore in rs3 but for me it gives a look in the past(see old school were it is used at bosses to prolong runs). but im a lorehound :) time gated reqs are annoing if they are the last ones to do. maybe a guide to start them earlier could help.

      Comp cape is supposed to be long and hard. Just get good and play the game more and you will get it. Wait until you get to trim comp requirements

      Comp is supposed to be a long grind, EVERYTHING should be included. I think the amount of achievements now isn't even enough.

    You know, as for quest locked things go, this didn't seem to be much of a problem in the past. There are certainly many possible reasons for that, but I think the big one is that we're doing half to a third of the quests we used to get every year. It's understandable you want the most people doing the newest updates, and when you put that in the context of 2-4 quests a year, it's easy to see how we got here. When it was 5-8 quests a year, that allows you to make quest-locked content and quests with much more lax requirements.

    Thanks for fixing volume. I play since 2006 and my issue is that I need to complete a lot of dead content because I skipped it back then. Ryan also views content from person who made their job to play this game but a lot of us cant put 10hrs a day like we used to do in elementary school anymore.

    The comp cape rework would have been one of the best updates for the game in terms of achievement progression, it's so sad it didn't get through

    I comp'ed years ago (literally hours before invention release) and Reaper was the big thing that kept me away from comp for so long. It wasn't due to lack of skill, it was due to lack getting people to take me to each boss. I found groups, but they didn't want to take someone with 0kc. I'm glad that it's no longer a comp req, even though I have no plans on comping again on my new character

      yeah you gotta have heaps of friends that can do all content and im one of the lucky ones to have 10+ regulars in our discord vc chat so we just do our own raids and group content lol

      Sadly I had the same issue, I ended up paying a PVM Leech group to take me to Solak and Vorago just for the reason you mentioned. Then of course after they went away with the requirement. Ironic.

    I miss quests that have a high combat requirement. My favourite quests are things like desert treasure and while guthix sleeps. Low quest requirements makes me feel like my invested time in making my character max level as pointless. The game should have a progression through its quests, and I think jagex has forgotten that their high level players want quests that challenge them.

    With the addition of the infernal box I'd like to see a change to the adrenaline urn and maybe relic power. Now the adrenaline retention upgrade has been released again for wilderness content.

    I feel like I'd be all about having a quest with extremely high skill reqs similar to how the light within was when that came out. We have gone so far in that I feel like a hard req of 85-90 skill reqs would be fitting for an endgame quest with super strong rewards

    i think a good thing that would make questing better going forward. is shortcuts unlocked by a higher lvl in a stat. Say you have to collect bonemeal and with a lower lvl in herblore(lets say 35) the standard way would be to go to ecto altar(i dont remember if this was correct^^). But since you have a higher herblore level(lets say 75). You now know that the shells from the nearby turtles, can be grinded down in a pestle and mortar to make a good substitute.
    a way to include time saves into a quest, other than just bringing items you bought on the GE

    Another thing to mention is that voice acted quests are much more engaging than non voice acted ones. People feel more invested when they dont neccessarily have to read the dialogue and are instead immersed. I didnt skip through a single line of dialogue during The Needle Skips quest. The Voice acting was marvelous and I was touched by the story deeply.

    Master of Combat cape would be a great addition instead of walking back the removal of Reaper. Two versions even - solo bosses, group bosses.

    With the "million pigeons" was her referring to the GTA IV trophy where you have to find 200 hidden pigeons around the map which did feel like a million, because he did say platinum trophy too which you get on playstation

      I'd like to see that, maybe not a Comp Guild per say, but a second floor to the Max Guild (it's already a big building so it fits architecturally speaking). Its contents are open for discussion but should include all popular facilities to make it worthy of the Comp Cape.

      I’m personally not a big fan of the idea of adding a comp guild or even a second level to max guild that only comp players can enter can have access to exclusive content or training methods or whatever.
      I’m not going to add anything that comp players should have additionally because honestly I can’t think of anything that they should have instead of maybe being able to add more than 3 cape perks like max cape can. Maybe increase it to 4 for comp and 5 for trimmed?

    I don’t think bossing is necessarily the issue with comp. At least in my case it isn’t about learning the bosses, I have completed almost all solo bosses and wish all bosses were able to be solo’d, but the social aspect when learning a group boss is hard for me. I have huge social anxiety to begin with and this translates into making it very difficult to learn a group boss. First by actually meeting a group whom will accept a learner and then dealing with the stress of not letting the group down. I have always been of the mind that comp reqs shouldn’t have been changed but the approach to group bosses should be looked at. I know I may be a singular person and jag ex needs to market to the masses but I am putting this out there just in case there are others with my similar issue and we have a voice in this. I just think Jag missed the mark on saying some want minimal requirements to get comp and I don’t feel that’s true. Like my reason above, maybe mechanics need to be addressed to make content more available.

    Should the "Completionist" Cape still be called that if it isnt actually what it means.
    When it was initially brought out there wasnt all this focus on high end pvm and bossing, so it made sense for what it was. I think raids coming out was when the problems started. I still think Reaper Crew should be a requirement for trim though.

      That's why some people don't take Comp Cape seriously nowadays, it should be retconned to "Most-of-it cape" if Jagex insist in keeping more and more content separated from "completionism".
      Reaper Crew got removed because, apparently, people don't like to PVM and most of them are average 02:00 GWD2 Killtime Players or Animate Dead + FSOA "Helmet Players". So asking them to kill every boss in game and, socialize a little for group bosses, is a tall order.

      @@Kranon wouldn't even say "most" to be honest, If i had to make a personal estimate as a current Comp Owner myself, Id estimate maybe tops 20% of the game, majority of it being useless requirements and not even things players push to achieve.
      its primarily Skills maxed, Ports majority complete, normal Quest Cape, Music and Achievement Diary.
      realistically could add sooo many different things, but even if they just required 1 boss kill of each boss (Reaper Crew), and like 1 bit of each piece of content (even if we as players don't like everything, doing it each once or small amount isn't terrible)
      such as Minigames, even playing them each once.. like how hard is that... It atleast defines being the Completism it is.

    I'm not even close to comping, not even max yet. But when I found out that they removed the reaper req from completionist I thought it was very strange? I mean I understand some players aren't in it for pvm but like you should have to kill every boss at least once to comp. So much of the recent content revolves around end game pvm so it seems weird that you can be "completionist" and skip all of that content. I don't like doing a lot of the grinds needed for comp but at some point I'll have to do it regardless. You don't need to get achievements for 2k or 4k enrage telos but I mean just kill them once.

    We need this Trim Comp Plus for the pvming content! NEED IT!
    I'm not even that much of an active bossier anymore, but the removal of Reaper from comp would a major knock to those of us that completed it before. Even moving it to trim would've been a great idea.
    The comp rework that was supposed to happen was my most anticipated thing in years, was so upset when it didn't happen, the designs for the capes alone made me so happy.
    Would love to see an addition to trim to add more requirements and content, it would push me to experience more, and as someone who struggles with finding what to do next, it would be perfect!

    Exp rewards from quests getting bigger over time???? Meanwhile Twilight of the Gods gives 60k exp.... Horrible. Require a player to have 2m exp in divination to do the quest, then give them a 30k xp lamp...

      It's been literal years since i bothered or remotely cared about XP, so i don't understand what's the big deal of Quests giving XP, if it's a Maste or Grandmaster quest it's logical it gives bunch of xp but is not an obligation.

      Id have to agree with @Cecil here, honestly XP is not really a major concern because majority of playerbase has already achieved the XP required, by this point its just not nessessary to worry about, even newer players if you look up optimal guides, can easily max an account within no time.

      Twilight of the Gods is more about the Zamorak damage reduction than the token XP rewards. There are enough XP handouts these days for you to get 80 div. Even my brother who plays twice a year has that.

    i think comp should stay as is, add a gilded comp cape to include some low level pvm achievements as well as some more non pvm achievements, add some higher level pvm achievements to the trimmed comp. Then add a true trim which is literally everything.
    the problem with comp as a whole is that there is only 2 tiers which encompass a huge range of achievements, some people dont want to do some and want to do others and i think the completionist system should reflect that and respect that some players just dont enjoy some content. in a perfect world you would have many different capes of accomplishment like a multi-tiered pvm cape but obviously that might not be viable

      A gilded comp cape is literally trim. Also, as someone who owns a comp cape, i feel the cape has devalued in prestige A LOT.

    I think the comp requirements are decent atm, but please get rid of the ports trio mission. getting from max to all comp requirements takes less time than completing the ports achievement alone. the reefwalker cape is an example of the 2 levels, reefwalker is fine for comp and you know how ports works like you mentioned. the trio misison doesnt fit in the requirement list IMO. Balance the 2 levels out, Id like to see more trim requirements in the comp list, but in lower numbers so it makes sense.

    is it posible to do something about the microphone that's used for the mods?
    i noticed in previous episodes as well that they are sometimes a bit low.
    In case of the mod in this episode who has a bit of a low toned voice and sometimes mumbles a bit, it gets really hard to hear what he is saying. It's almost like we can hear the vibration of his chest.
    specially for people with slight hearing problems or people like me who are not native English speakers this can be problematic. Specially because the parts that are hard to understand are also not picked up properly by the subtitles.

    I played RS3 and stuck by it through EOC, I’m nearly comped (2 tasks left one of them time gated) but it just feels like lately all these updates have become dull due to the lack of “grinding.” It’s what made the game so unique in its own right. It just feels like it’s devalued my own achievements. It’s because of the devaluations it’s turned me off from RS3 and took osrs a lot more seriously, I appreciate the grind it gives because it takes hours on end to reach those milestones and there’s rewards that show for it.

    Pursuing the comp cape is boring, I stopped playing two months ago, someday I'll probably get my guy out and play him again but after I maxed out my stats the game just got to be boring, I'm just burned out on the same old thing every day for 14 years. Not that there is a better game, there probably isn't, but there are different games, and right now I'm bored and want something different. See you around RS, I'm sure someday I'll be ready to mess with it again... Someday.

    maybe comp pre combat could be untrimed just have the diffrent design then with reaper would get the current comp cape then total comp would be trimmed comp just an idea though since max and comp capes have diffrent designs

    There will always be people who complain about things. Combat as a requirement for comp should never have been taken out. Comp shouldn't be about grinding a thousand pigeons for the sake of that, but if there rewards or unlocks that are grind then it's included. This change should have never have taken place. If non pvmer want a cape with particles then by all means make one, and include it in the reqs for comp.

      i get the sentiment but i kinda disagree as well, comp cape is basically runescapes version of achievment completionists on say steam or any game, so if i use Borderlands 2 for example (a game i have all the achievements for) one of the achievements is to kill terramorphis the invinsible but that doesnt mean i have to go kill terramorphis the invincible on lvl 80 Overpower level 10 (hardest difficulty) meaning i can go back as a lvl 80 character and kill the lvl 50 terra on the easier difficulty for the achievement. runescape has no system for that, not every boss has a "story mode" to be able to complete.
      Say the devs want to make a boss thats near impossible and only the top 2% of players will ever kill, its not very rewarding drops wise but its an achievement for pvmers to say "i am good at pvm" if thats then put on comp cape you have now locked out 98% of players from EVER being able to get the cape and even locked out a large portion of players who already had the cape from ever getting it back.
      to me completionist cape should be like ahievement systems in games like my BL2 example, cool you have 75/75 achievements and finished the main story congratulations you have "completed" borderlands 2.

      IMO the comp came should be fully completing every single last bit of content in the game. Instead of removing things from the requirements, and screwing over those who had to do those things, they should revitalize the "dead" content and give players a reason to do them again.

      In that case, let's keep Max and Comp cape perk slots separated. Oh, and add a reward to the Treasure Trail store that also separates the cape perks from the GT Backpack.
      That way you can have 3 different set of perks for all kind of activities.

    make some of them essentials like (max skill, all quests, all tasks).

      It happens though realistically the Gower brothers couldn't financially and mentally continue to handle it's growth in the state that it was and desperately needed more assistance and eventually opted to sell it out.

    Why would make this stuff easy and less requirements but more rewarding?
    so the past few million accounts/players who struggled or put the effort to get satisfaction for the reward will see it as not unique or special since many more who have to put less out to get the same reward.
    At least make a different cape/title for those who get the stuff pre-nerf.
    If there is no struggle or effort put into progression there is no satisfaction in progression/achievements. This could kill the active player base, even though the player base is already lower then it was once before.

    If you struggle to get like 75 construction or whatever, you don't deserve to do the quest. There's no reason why when Jagex is handing out so many XP bonuses, so many oddments, constant extended DXP events, anyone should be struggling to meet quest skill requirements. The game is about skilling. That's what RuneScape is. Anything less is just Jagex trying to make the game more accessible to people who don't appreciate or understand it

    Completionist should encompass ALL Game Major Achievements, CASE CLOSED, the ones that are so painfully excluded are:
    - Reaper Crew.
    - Quest Cape.
    - ''at least" 20,000 Runescore.
    While Trim should also have:
    - MQC.
    - 30,000 Runescore.
    Things like clue, pvm, skilling titles are just cherry on tops.
    Additionally, we should have a modern achievement system that allowed us to filter all achievements by points, that way we can focus on doing the ones we feel are easier/faser or harder/slower in any order we'd like.
    And maybe add more achievements to Steam???

      Trim Cape is already very time consuming to get and maintain.
      Now what they could have done is to make it more desirable to get.
      Like making it possible to "upgrade" it, where the player get access to change the particle effect on it. Say each 200M skill unlocks the particles for said skill to be used with the trimmed cape. Make 5.6B/max xp grant the player to use 2-3 different particles to customize it.
      Just make it more desirable to achieve trim Cape or even go for 200M in any skill.
      This would increase the activity within getting the capes and will make the content around these achievements more played. Which also would give the developers any reasons to go back to old content to rework it for the better, cause now suddenly more players are playing it.
      TLDR;
      So instead of making it harder.. Why not improve and add possible extra achievements around the already existing content?

      Same with pvm... Make a reaper achievement path for grinding pvm achievements with fun achievements like restricted weapons/no food kills and whatnot for a normal reaper and trimmed reaper achievement goals.
      Make the trimmed version with the idea of "that's pretty much impossible, but it could.." in the devs minds. Like, just have fun with it

    Maybe that's because you're running the ideas for that content by so tiny a group of your favorite players instead of the entire community as a whole? What the hell ever happened to polls?     Comp cape shouldn't even be a thing. Why? Jagex is just gonna crank out more BS in the future which make you lose YOUR Comp cape and you have to earn it back by doing the BS Jagex put in. Jagex repeat it again and you repeat it again. Endless cycle.
    What I wanna see are overcoats. Instead of just having Capes we should have overcoats. The Japanese call it Haori. The type of coat that Samurai wear and on the back of the coat(Haori)will have their lord's crest or whatever. So in our case...Attack symbol, Firemaking or whatever symbol.

    RS3 consistently lets down its high effort playerbase in favour of catering to the low effort playerbase.

    I literally don't care about quests... I only do them because stuff is often locked behind a chain of them. I wish there was a flowchart of what quests require what other quests, so I can see what I've finished and what not. It's just a cluster of stuff I don't want to waste my time on right now.

      @@davidcarey6923 which should also be in game for convenience. Surely it shouldn't be too difficult to copy paste the info somewhere in game? Maybe put it inside the Varrock Museum?

      @@Kranon exactly this. I also don't want to have to start checkmarking everything, when in game this could happen automatically.
      They should just do a minor questing rework. There's a couple things I would change:
      -add a list of items required, which a checkmark box of if you have it and where (bank, toolbelt, diango, etc.)
      -add a flowchart, so you can see what quests are required for what other quests. That way you can see what questlines you're making progress on.
      -add a delete all quest/trash item (items with no use) button.
      -add a reclaim quest item NPC, where you can reclaim every last quest item you've owned before.
      I have no clue what quest items I need to hang on to right now. It would fix my bank issues by a ton. Just being able to delete quest items, knowing I could reclaim them if I even need them again would take a load off. Like can I destroy my rock-climbing boots? No idea... I wish I could just destroy and reclaim. If it turns out it's a useless item, then leave it off the reclaim list. I don't want to have to do research yo know what every item is, and wether I might possibly need it again...

      @@MHGFTW at least for the last 2, the wise old man will signal what trash items you have in your bank that you can delete, and the quest caravan next to the varrock lodestone will let you reclaim quest items that you have destroyed. Also you can store certain things in your Player Owned House so use that to store some things from your bank as well, you can always re-access them from the bank itself

      @@Kranon The Wiki is included in game now, so eh.. tbf its not really a major focus within the game as something like this could cause information overload to many newer or less experienced players.

    with this philosophy... What happened to Elder Godwars Dungeon?! LOL
    That is Low-Mid tier content with end game rewards...
    Honestly if I am being entirely realistic, Mod Jack seems to of never really and any understanding of the communities needs for the game.. Everything I've ever seen him address has always been entirely different then what really needs to be and that just is really sad because hes very intelligent, just doesn't apply where it needs to be. :(

      Players at the low-mid tier are definitely not doing hm arch-glacor/kerapac/zuk for the end-game rewards. Hell, a lot of them aren't even doing nm zuk.

      @@RockBandRS believe it or not, more Mid Tier Pvmers actually do Hardmode Arch Glacor then any.
      by Mid Tier I am referring to the skill performance of the player, not in a negative means either.
      Arch Glacor was confirmed even by Jagex to be designed this way for Arch Glacor, Zuk, Kerapac and Crosesus. It was intentively designed this way to "replace GWD2" as the Jmod quoted.
      however the issue with this ideology was the fact that its providing end game content at such an easy rate. This is extremely unhealthy for the game.
      now consider this; compare Elder Godwars to things like Vorago, AOD, Telos, Solak.
      believe it or not, those 4 I just mentioned are actually geared to be more difficult but due to in game power creep of recent Elder Godwars releases, they aren't even End Game Content anymore.
      so instead of actually developing content to be geared for End Game like it should have, they released better equipment to lower levels and much easier, while not actually addressing the issue End Game has had for 8+ years now. Which this is a massive design flaw in Jagex's motives and why the player base is massively been declining.

      ​@@RockBandRS I guess a better way to explain this issue is imagine a Mid Tier player becoming into a High end Player.
      going from Kerapac whos already farmed their own FSOA.. going to Telos to find out ffs Im getting a SOS wtf?
      even though the content is more challenging, its reward system is unbalanced and feels like its a waste of time to go back.
      the same could be compared from Kerapac to Vorago.
      or Zamorak to Solak
      Arch Glacor to Kalphite King (I skipped Magister because its not difficult at all but at least had a high level requirement being its barrier)
      believe it or not more players can do HM Arch Glacor then Solo Kalphite King let alone Duo/Trio Kalphite King because Arch Glacor's Mechanics are more understood. but I admit this specific Example of Kalphite King is terrible one but still none the less one of them.

      hardmode Zuk I'll agree I won't nessessarily say that one specifically is Mid Tier, but Normal Mode definitely is.
      but Hardmode Kerapac is 100% Mid tier.
