I have to admit that I despised Chevalier in S1, but by the end of s2 he’d grown on me- & I adored him by the end of s3. I’m really looking forward to seeing Alex in the new season of Outlander (even though it’s been a little disappointing in recent seasons)
Phillipe was my favorite character, on the show. Vlahos did an amazing job bringing his character to life. I look forward to seeing his career, blossom.
It pains me to see Philippe so broken. Struck in his PTSD and Depression. But Liselotte and the Chevalier are such Darlings. This Video is really beautiful and sums everything perfectly. Thank you.
The BBC's "Rome" was my favorite show ever. "Versailles" has replaced it. I've never been drawn in the way I was with this show. It felt so real and I wish it would never end. Phillipe cast a spell over me, that is for sure.
While there are so so many extraordinaryingly talented actors that were cast in Versailles, Alexander to me, made this show with his phenomenal acting abilities. I felt his anger, his pain, his arrogance, his sadness, his madness and his sense of humor in every scene. Exquisite role for an exquisite actor. ❤️
This is absolutely a MASTERPIECE💐💗💐 As a resume we can feel all the suffering of Philippe from the 1st until the 3rd season..and this END, my God.. Strong nostalgic vibes for this amazing historic charming serie❤.

This song and video content is very much on-point in depicting the relationship of Versailles series Philippe and his brother King Louis. Heartbreaking because I believe his soldiers and others would want to see him King instead of Louis.2020
I don't like what they've done with Philippe's character in series 3. At one point he and Palatine are introduced to his eldest daughter, Marie Louise, whom they do not recognise when she enters the room, implying that they had no contact with her as she grew up. That is not true. wikipedia states "Elisabeth Charlotte was very close to her two stepdaughters Marie Louise and Anne Marie" and she is described as "Charming, pretty and graceful, Marie Louise, who was her father's favourite child, had a happy childhood, residing most of the time in the Palais-Royal, and at the Château De Saint-Cloud situated a few kilometres west of Paris" These residences are Philippe's and Palatine's homes. In portraits you can see that she took after Philippe in looks. On the TV show she looks nothing like him.
If the show runners and producers were trying to show a realistic portrayal of these people, the series would have no fan at all. They romanticed A LOT and erased major facts about their sordid actions to make them likable (even just a bit) but I understand your frustration.
@@jucharpentierbouilly6980 I agree, though in the incident I mentioned they altered history in a way that made Philippe less likeable not more. I have read a lot of books about this period, some first hand accounts like the Memoirs of the Duke of Saint Simon and the letters of Palatine, Philippe's second wife. The history is very fascinating in itself, and at the time Philippe was popular, as far as the aristocracy goes, because he moved to Paris to live later on, held big parties there and allowed the ordinary people of Paris to come and help themselves to the leftovers. He also must have had a good sense of humour and I think he was kind. His grand-daughter cried inconsolably when he died. All that Louis said was 'why are you crying' (he didn't like a displays of emotion) and 'I can't believe I will never see my brother again'. To modern sensibilities Versailles would have been an awful unsanitary place to live. The people must have stunk and we would not be sympathetic to them or the way they behaved but it was of its time.
That was brilliant, as you said, it fits perfectly. I've only got one more episode to watch and then it's all over, which I'm really sad about. I wish whoever made this decision would think again, there's still so much more to be said about this story
Be careful what you wish for! I've heard from friends it isn't always what you think! Look at Oscar Wilde and his wife, for example. But I suppose it's worth a try!
