I really enjoyed this video, Mads, I also understand your frustrations. I was at Tre Cime two years ago and it is an amazing place. I got some really good shots and learned a great deal about what I'll do differently the next time I'm there. I was in the Dolomites with a workshop and didn't really know where we were going beforehand, so I wasn't prepared and shot quite a bit from just a couple places. I understand your frustration in wanting to maximize your time and efforts, but you learned things, and that's just part of the process. When you return next time you'll be really excited because you'll have a much better idea of where you want to shoot and at what time. Despite the frustrations, you got some outstanding images and great drone footage. It was wonderful for me to watch the video and relive my visit there. Thank you so much for all your efforts! (by the way, Tre Cime is pronounced Tray Chee-May in English (I speak Italian) in this context it means, three mountain tops or three peaks of Lavaredo-cime is the plural of cima-they are also known as Drei Zinnen). Many thanks again. -Bob
Thank you so much Robert! You are absolutely right - I'll love it, even more, when I return! And thanks for the pronunciation - will up my game on that (hopefully) :)
Great videos Mads. Really shows the other side of landscape photography that we all go through. It’s just part of the process sometimes and it’s never wasted.
Very honest approach to the whole feel of the video and for the majority of landscape photographers, this is how it is. We don’t always prepare well as at the back of our minds there maybe another chance to return. I wouldn’t be too disappointed Mads. Perhaps a different crop on some of them but this will just light the addiction in us and the need to return. I won’t comment on your production or cinematography as I’m sure others have given deserved praise. Take care for now Mads and thanks again for having the time to still comment on mine and others vlogs.
You're very welcome James! And thanks a lot! Time has been a hassle here in January - I'll explain in the next video ;) But it's fun to see some of your different videos. Especially like those get-together videos :)
I do love your photos Mads but your drone footage absolutely transports me. So well done. I could sit and watch it for hours. Good advice on being prepared. I agree it's important. What it does for me is helps free me up to take advantage of the unexpected (and there is always that no matter how prepared you come). If I know what shots I want to get, or can get, because of my research and prep, then I'll more readily recognize the unexpected when it presents itself and hopefully have the extra time built in to take advantage of it. It might be unusual weather, or a lesser known angle, or a trail, or a vantage point I've never seen photographed that I happen to notice. Whatever, if I know the location I'll know whether or not to go with that unexpected choice, or let it go and stick to my plan. Excessive planning might seem rigid to some, but I find it actually makes it easier to be flexible in the moment, with less time wasted second guessing myself. Something I've learned the hard way too!
Mads, delighted to see your channel go from strength to strength and quite right too. The drone footage and your images certainly demonstrated the landscape was challenging to photograph but truly majestic at the same time. Tuesdays are never dull days when your weekly release pops up
We was at the Tre Cimes a couple of weeks ago and had kind of a failure too. We started walking towards the little church in a very windy conditions. And the suddenly the clouds came with heavy rain. To top it of it started to lightening all around us. It took typically 0.5 to one second from the lighting to the rolling thunder. Wet as a cat I will say we were terrified. We managed to get back to the car park without seeing the actual peaks themselves. I really felt I had put my wife in a very vulnerable position. I could see the fear in here eyes. I really felt stupid for making this trip under these conditions. What have I learned? Well Be prepared, watch the forecast and have enormous respect for the mountains. There isn't any cell phone coverage at some of these places and you need the best of clothes. Lesson learned. But I agree. This must be one of the most beautiful part of the Dolomites. I will be back for another attempt.
My husband and I love road trips (which are also photography trips, of course) that are sort of planned. We tend to choose a place that we would ultimately like to reach and a direction to start off in, then just explore all along the way. Some of my favorite places have been among those that we just happened upon - like the humongous statue of Sacajawea on the Missouri River and the Hanging Highway in Colorado. One thing is certain - the resulting photographs are unique. That said, I love the results that you get so I'm quite happy that you are usually prepared!
Mads, another one of those epic locations that you are becoming so well known for. We landscape photographers live and die by our preparation and research. I guess it's easier for photographers like me who are able to focus on a single area and build up an intimate knowledge of the best vantage points over the course of many months and years. I very much admire photographers who can spend just a few short days in a location and come away with good shots time after time.
Thank you Chris! It's true. I wish I had a location nearby which I could focus on. Denmark is just so flat and I'm really drawn to those big epic vistas. A bit jealous of your backyard ;)
Wow, that image at 9.59 is just superb, or in your words' epic'. These are once in a lifetime location visits for most so I can understand why it would be frustrating if you feel you missed something. Superb video , looking forward to the next part of the tour
It's like you've been looking our my diary for the next three years Mads. There are three of us, all allowed by the ladies in our lives to go off on location together once a year for a few days with our camera bags. The diary already said, Glencoe 2018, Iceland 2019, Dolomites 2020 and Faroes 2021. I was looking at photos of this exact location just a couple of days ago on Flickr. Looks like a good spot to combine with some hiking as well, so with mountains added, that's three great pleasures all in one place. And then we discovered your TH-cam channel. Uncanny! I guess it means we're picking good places to visit. Hope we do these places some justice. Thanks again for the work you're doing, it's very inspiring.
Sounds like a fantastic plan! You have something to look forward to for sure. And yes the Dolomites are great for hiking! And you need some new ladies who're not holding you back ;)
Mads Peter Iversen haha you can tell the ladies that 😂 - maybe they'll come with us to Italy. I did read that the Dolomites are among the best mountains in Europe for hiking. Looking forward to seeing what you do next. In a few days from now we'll be at Buachaille Etive Mor. Here's hoping for snow and not too much rain. All the best. Dom.
more magic!!!, i think you are being a bit hard on yourself, you had valid reasons for the limitations you feel you had, i am certain anyone watching this would argue that the content was glorious, it makes me marvel how you will tackle this location in the future and the compositional results you will wrest from the landscape, terrific stuff as always, stellar content.......
It happens, but it's what you learn from the mistake that makes you grow. I understand how hard you are on yourself and can really relate to the feeling. You have very strong standards for the quality of your work. Knowing what you are capable of, contributes to your frustration when you are in a situation like this. You did get a number of very nice images and drone footage. I will look forward to seeing what comes from a return visit some day.
Thank you very much, James. Yes, it's exactly that feeling of expectations to your own work. It's always frustrating when those expectations are not met ;)
Pure class mads. Good advice in this vlog. I’m on my way to the Dolomites on Wednesday. Plenty of prep will be done. Is drone signal nor great there. I have just bought the mavic pro 2
Haha. Looks back while vlogging, “But seriously, WOW.” SO happy seeing the beautiful morning you were rewarded with after the sad first day. EPIC location. Great drone shot. Love the huge pano. Unreal scale on the last photo. I really appreciate the energy and passion you pour into the planning, the experience, and the content you produce from it. Consider it a success!
Mads - I've been following you since I stumbled upon your "Photographing USA" series. Those videos inspired me to go to the Columbia river Gorge in Oregon and helped a WHOLE lot with preparation and knowing what to expect. I had a great time photographing as a result (and had a happier girlfriend as a result). :) Totally get what you meant about the time being stressful and annoying - I hope it helps to know that your videos, besides being entertaining and educational, help others have pleasant experiences. So thanks for everything! P.S: That drone shot and those 2 panoramas were amazing!
I'm so happy I can add to your relationship! :) It's so important to have a happy partner on that note - I'm just extremely lucky to have Sophie. I'm very happy you liked the video. I think it turned out great too with some nice drone video. So thank you very much! :)
Mads, I know you said that you were unprepared, but I find the images you've made here to be beyond stunning! I love them! The photo at 9:37 especially resonates with me. I know that photographers are very self-critical. I suffer from this myself. But for what it's worth, I was waiting for this video from you because I am (hopefully) planning a trip to the Dolomites later this year, and you've helped me immensely. Thanks kindly!
I totally agree with you Mads about advanced planning and preparation. They are key to a photo shoot. I have been to the Dolomites in winter and it is breath taking. You got some beautiful images. I will be seeing you in a few weeks in Iceland, I am on one your photo workshops in mid February. Looking forward to meeting you in person! Well, I am off to Yosemite, a snow storm is moving in today!
That's awesome to hear Richard! I'm really looking forward to it and meeting all of you. I think we'll get a fantastic experience! Good luck in Yosemite - not jealous at all ;)
Wonderful stiff Mads! Always inspirational, educational and enjoyable to watch. Love the shot of the person (you?) on the grassy peak in the foreground of the peaks and the dizzying drone footage, thanks for sharing.
Wow, what a monumental location. You should be happy with your shots Mads, they are epic. The wisdom of hindsight will always show you the better location. Be happy, the finished shots convey the immensity of those mountains. I guess that's also hard to put into perspective.
Thank you, Mads. Another one for my shoot list! That's breathtaking (in both uses of the term). I often find I need to visit a place and then consider my shots and then visit again but, of course, this is not always possible. I think it's a real skill to be able to plan your shoot before but there is nothing better than visiting and then letting your creative brain come up with ideas. Yes, perhaps three days would have been enough but, really, take your time in such a fantastic place. Your reason to return there I think :-)
Not sure if I agree. If you had prepared better and had known about certain compositions, you'd probably just copied them. Now you worked from your gut and got images that differ from the millions of shots posted from this location. And they are great!
Stunning location and even some footage of an Alpine Chough thrown into the mix! I think you are being hard on yourself Mads, the images are lovely and you will be better prepared next time you visit.
Many good points made here, and I strongly approve of a self critical and honest self assessment in landscape photography, of which this video is a great example.
Mads, don't feel to bad about not being as well prepared as you would liked to have been, it's all part of a photographer's nature. I do have to say though, that was an epic location. I felt the same way several years ago when I went to the Canadian Rockies, it was an epic location but, I too was unprepared for it when I got there. We live and we learn mate. Keep making these video's, love them!
Thank you very much, Darren! And you're right, it's just about learning. I normally prepare quite a lot, but now I have confirmed how important it is ;)
Hi Mads, great video. I always wanted to go visit the Dolomites, but did not know where to start, this gives me some great insight. And don’t be too harsh on yourself, I quite enjoy the pictures you got away with.
Truly an epic adventure! Loved the images and really loved the soundtrack you played along with your final presentation of your images. Really good vlog!!
Again a beautiful video, please keep it up. Every time it is a video full of inspiration. Thank you for taking us to fantastic locations every time again.
Excellent Mads. I first discovered your fantastic vlogs when researching for my trip to the Faroe Islands back in July. Despite your disappointment what you have captured is awesome. I know a couple of photographers who went to the Dolomites last October or November, its hard to believe just how stunning and large the region is going by still images alone, your drone footage really does help to give a sense of scale. Do you ever get invited to visit countries to give talks on your work? You come across as a great speaker and with your travels I am sure many landscape photographers would love to meet you and listen to your tales. We recently had vlogger Thomas Heaton visit us in Belfast in Northern Ireland
Thank you very much, Chris and I'm happy you're sticking around! :) I've got a few invites to speak at some photography clubs here in Denmark. But nothing outside of Denmark yet. Would love to though :)
Mads Peter Iversen Hopefully that will change Mads as your channel grows :) I speak at clubs here in Northern Ireland and it is always great to share our tales and show our body of work. Everytime I look at my Faroes images from Kalsoy or Gasadalur all I can hear in my head is you saying "if you fall here..you will probably die" haha. Your vlogs made our group even more aware of the dangers so thank you
Time after time, I’ve watched your videos and they always stand out as not just a video, it inspiration and passion of knowledge. Given in a fresh and natural way with patronising the viewer. 😁👍 excellent work Mads
An epic video. The location is superb and the images always stunning. I bet this is a place that you will return to at some point and I think the images on that occasion will be well worth the wait. Fantastic work.
Another great video. feel like every time you show these places, i wanna go there. you do such an amazing job showing the places. You should do some photography tours/workshops. That would be amazing!.
Hi Mads, I really enjoyed this video and to hear you talk about disappointments on location... but the Alps are always like that.. harsh and unpredictable and even if you plan and prepare everything, it might still not work out... the weather can get pretty bad up there and you were lucky to get clear sunrise after such a cloudy afternoon. In Slovenia most of the famous Alpine photo spots are nowhere near any road or hotel... so even more hiking! However I think you still got the most out of it, the photos are beautiful and the drone footage is amazing! Epic as always :)
Love your videos Mads. Another awesome video and photographs. Wish you all the best in getting more subscribers. I watch lot of landscape photographers videos and you are in my top 2 with Mr. HT. You provide such valuable information for anyone who are planning to go to locations you visit which hardly anyone share.
Despite the lack of preparation, the photos are gorgeous ! You're a great source of inspiration in my personal photography learning pathway, as I really appreciate your humble approach. Thank you for all those great videos.
I enjoyed this, but it made me happy that I am not a professional. I don't like at all to know what I am going to find before I get there! The joy, for me, is the discovery. Seeing what may jump out!
Absolutely incredible location! Definitely going on the bucket list but how on earth would you know where to start in such an epic location. Fantastic images and drone work!
Wonder video as usual. Thank you for the work you do to make these photos and places seem attainable for the rest of us (well for me at least). I find that your style of explaining the location, the thought process you use and showing the result very entertaining and informative.
Spent two days in the area hiking and photographing; it really wasn’t enough to explore any of it, even worse. My settings were somehow on low quality JPEG and after getting a few really nice shots at sunset, I was furious when I realised my own stupidity ... what a major facepalm. Anyhow, I still quite like the images I got there. Can’t wait to go back. I can also warmly recommend the area between Bolzano / Veneto / Trentino. Amazing views, stunning light and lots and lots of fantastic photos to be taken.
Such a beautiful video. This place is definitely one that I'm interested in visiting in the future and it's good to know that I should get to know that place before going there to get the most of it. I've also seen some beautiful night photos from there, but this video showed how it looks in daylight. Music in your videos is always very good. Your videos are highly appreciated, you are showing a lot of interesting places to photograph beautiful landscapes in Europe, thanks for sharing!
Great video again Mads! Your last drone shot reminded me of the fellowship of the ring while they travel through the misty mountains! Nicely done. Also, great podcast with Nick Page!
Phenomenal drone footage. You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself. Beautiful shots! It would be really tough to have everything perfectly planned in such enormous and challenging geography.
it seems like a great place. I make a short sunset visit there this summer. which spot / side do you recommend to me, given that I only have one chance?
Mads Peter Iversen Things can change quickly, now an overnight stay arranged in one of the hostels 👌🏻 but thanks for your reply. Doubt a little between right into the sun or with the sun in the back and hope for a great alpine glow
What I meant is, go to the location which statistically has the biggest chance of getting the light you want ;) I personally prefer shooting into the light, for me, it gives the most "atmospheric" / other-worldly effect.
Breathtaking scenery Mads and you still managed to capture some wonderful images. I know its sometimes difficult to plan exactly what you want. I would have been running round like a headless chicken snapping everything in sight. In my opinion you did a great job here.
Absolutely a beautiful location that I would love to visit. I guess doing your research and planning on a location like this would be needed. I do think the shots you took and the drone coverage was quite good. I think this is a location you will want to revisit in the future!
Great video Mads who you consider making a video of the locations around Tre Cime that would make a great photos ? Similar to your Iceland and Lofoten ones please, these are brilliant.
Yep, really want to go back to the Dolomites after watching this. What a great place. Never ceases to amaze me how you get really nice apple strudel in the mountain huts (and Forst beer!). Hope you go back and do the place the justice you think it deserves. Refugio Lagazoui is a good place to stay while you are there as well.
Another amazing video and so inspiring, I was thinking about hiking and wild camping the Dolomites this year too. Where is best to fly to and travel from airport to mountains is this doable by bus or taxi? Thanks for sharing, Steve
Hi Mads, awesome video! I know you probably answer questions like this a lot but I couldn't find any in the comments of other videos yet... I was wondering what fps you shoot the handheld video at? Do you shoot 24 or 25fps or higher? Because I noticed in some sections when you are panning that the footage looks a little stuttery or jittery as if the fps is too slow, so it doesn't look smooth. I have a Sony a6300 and it doesn't look very nice when shot at 25fps but 50fps is beautiful. An example of what I'm talking about is a video on my channel. But I wondered if all cameras do this or is it just Sony or am I being too fussy? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks very much for you videos! They are awesome!
Hi Wade. I shoot most "vlog" material at 25fps. My project is also 25fps. I do try to hit the 1/50s shutter speed, so it shouldn't be that and since the project is only 25fps there's no reason to shoot at 50fps. I do make most of my b-roll at 50fps as to have the ability to slow it down. But panning the camera I often notice some lag, which is not there at 50fps.
Once again I am filled with awe at your videos Mads, what an amazing place the Dolomites are, I can only hope I will get to visit them myself one day, loved the images, especially the one with the figure in the foreground, reminding us of how beautiful and wonderful the planet is we live on. :-)
I really like your honest approach in this excellent video. That location looks so big and epic. Despite your own lack of preparation I think you really got some big and beautiful captures. :)
Lovely Vid Mads, even if your prep wasn't up to your normal standards I still feel you have produced lovely images. We all from time to time get so taken by the moment and the grandeur of a place or location that is easily done not to take a moment to 'think' there is nothing wrong in this. I suspect from your commentary that this location and its beauty will stay with you for a long time to come. Watching your vid I cant help but think how amazing those mountain ranges look as part of a astro-landscape ... I can but dream :)
Thank you very much, Geoff! Yes it's absolutely outstanding and I'll never forget my (hopefully) first visit here. It is amazing for astro - check out Michael Shainblum. He was there a couple of weeks before me. He got some outstanding photos :)
If it easier for you, you were in a good position in morning but in the wrong time of day. I was shoot one of my sunset photos from there. For sunrise spots for me it is better to continue towards the north, ie towards Locatelli hut. Another great video Mads!
Enjoyed the video. Although you didn’t feel 100% prepared, I liked the resulting photo’s quite a lot! Beautiful, actually. But I take your lesson seriously: prepare as much as you can. Thank you for this one and looking forward to the next!
Great vlog Mads, found myself identifying with all your errors, that you selflessly confessed. I truly think I learnt a lot from this vlog i.e. importance of vigilance and preparation. Great drone pano at the end and last image with subject in foreground 👌
Another brilliant video !! I have had the feeling of not being totally satisfied about a trip and it’s horrible ! However you win some and you lose some. That’s what makes photography so interesting and different. It would lose its appeal if it had no challenges ! It also gives you the perfect excuse to go back ! Always positives Good work :)
I really enjoyed this video, Mads, I also understand your frustrations. I was at Tre Cime two years ago and it is an amazing place. A video for Mads always goes straight to the top of the watch now list! Epic landscapes, and we all fail to prepare properly every now and again. :-)
Hehe perfect! Yeah I guess it's a part of the game. All my preparation juices went for UK ;)
I do love your photos Mads but your drone footage absolutely transports me. So well done. I could sit and watch it for hours. Good advice on being prepared. I agree it's important. Haha thanks a lot! It's so nice to hear people are awaiting my videos ;)
Gorgeous picture. It remembers me my hiking tours in this area. I look forward to your next video
I'm happy to bring some nostalgia :)
Stunning area, so beautiful, and your images, although not what you wanted, were beautiful too.
Thank you very much Nina, yes I really like them :)
Just watching more of your older videos and they too never fail to impress!
Thanks a lot! Yeah I have a lot of old ones which I really enjoy myself :)

But for what it's worth, I was waiting for this video from you because I am (hopefully) planning a trip to the Dolomites later this year, and you've helped me immensely. Thanks kindly!
You are very welcome Adrian! Happy I could help out and thanks a lot!
Thank you very much, James! That's Sophie on that peak :)
Wow, what a monumental location. You should be happy with your shots Mads, they are epic. The wisdom of hindsight will always show you the better location. Be happy, the finished shots convey the immensity of those mountains. I guess that's also hard to put into perspective.
Thank you very much, Bob. Yes you are totally right! :)
Beautiful images Mads. My day is always better after viewing your photos and taking in the vlog.
Hehe that's good to hear I can bring some happiness ;)
Thank you, Mads. Another one for my shoot list! That's breathtaking (in both uses of the term). I often find I need to visit a place and then consider my shots and then visit again but, of course, this is not always possible. I think it's a real skill to be able to plan your shoot before but there is nothing better than visiting and then letting your creative brain come up with ideas. Yes, perhaps three days would have been enough but, really, take your time in such a fantastic place. Your reason to return there I think :-)
I'll return that's for sure! The location has so much to offer, which I would love to photograph :)
That I will! And I'm looking very much forward to coming back! :)
Fantastic vlog mads, breathtaking drone shots.love the way you present your films, i am glued to the screen, and learning each time
That's so good to hear! I'm very happy you enjoy them so much Jim :)
Many good points made here, and I strongly approve of a self critical and honest self assessment in landscape photography, of which this video is a great example.
Thank you very much! Yes I think that's an important skill :)
Epic as usual Mads, your work is so inspirational
thanks a lot Joe! I'm happy to hear that :)
Last night National Geographic (TV) had a one hour program on these mountains and the wild life. Your video is beautiful and the images are stunning.
Thank you very much, Edward. I think I need to watch that!
Thank you very much, Dirk! Yeah I like these ones too :)
Beautiful location and beautiful photos!
9:40 till10:10 gives me goosebumps. How beautiful! The music fits perfect with the images.
Thank you very much! Happy to hear you got goosebumps ;)
Again super helpful when Im planning my trip to Tre Cime!! Love your channel
You're most welcome and thanks a lot :)
Truly an epic adventure! Loved the images and really loved the soundtrack you played along with your final presentation of your images. Really good vlog!!
Mads, would love to see a video on a return trip when you are prepared, because this was epic! well done.
I would love to make at least a couple of videos from Tre Cime, where I come prepared :)
The last shot of the 3 was really good Mads. Your work is so inspirational! Keep it up.
Thank you very much, Johan! Happy to hear that :)
Stunning. Another part of planet Earth that can blow your mind visually.
YEs very much! It's stunning!
Again a beautiful video, please keep it up. Every time it is a video full of inspiration. Thank you for taking us to fantastic locations every time again.
Thanks a lot Water! And you're welcome :)
That place is insanely beautiful. That shot at 10:00 min. is epic. The scale of it all. Thanks for bringing us along.
Really enjoy watching your videos Mads so informative. You inspire me so much!
Thank you very much, Janette, I'm very happy to hear that! :)
I've got a few invites to speak at some photography clubs here in Denmark.
Your vlogs made our group even more aware of the dangers so thank you
Haha, that's kinda funny, but very good to hear you were aware of the cliff edges :)
And I'd love to speak at different events around the world :)
Great video, Mads. Lovely images and so reassuring to know that even you can sometimes be guilty of under preparation! Inspiring as always, thank you.
Hehe thank you very much, Tony! Yup, happens to me too ;)
Time after time, I’ve watched your videos and they always stand out as not just a video, it inspiration and passion of knowledge. Given in a fresh and natural way with patronising the viewer. 😁👍 excellent work Mads
Thank you so much, Mali! Means a lot! I aim for each episode to be a unique and adventurous experience :)
Mads Peter Iversen you have succeeded and some. I’m terrified of heights and even I’m considering some of the places you’ve been 😁👍
Beautiful location thanks for sharing. Happen to us all not being prepared from time to time. Great video really enjoy as always
Thank you very much! Yes, it does and then we learn from it :)
An epic video. The location is superb and the images always stunning. I bet this is a place that you will return to at some point and I think the images on that occasion will be well worth the wait. Fantastic work.
It's such an absolutely stunning location and I think you are right! :) Thanks a lot :)
Great vid Mads, and has been said already just so much to shoot so little time!
Thank you very much, Paul and yes! :)
Is 24mm FF equiv very limiting here? Do you need a super wide lens to get the good shots?
In spite of your preparations Mads, you came away with great shots, and always a reason to return. Well done. Greets from South Africa.
Thanks a lot Craig! YEs, that is some good motivation to return ;)
Another great video. feel like every time you show these places, i wanna go there. you do such an amazing job showing the places. You should do some photography tours/workshops. That would be amazing!.
I'm just about to go to Iceland to co-host some workshops ;)
Hi Mads, I really enjoyed this video and to hear you talk about disappointments on location... but the Alps are always like that.. harsh and unpredictable and even if you plan and prepare everything, it might still not work out... the weather can get pretty bad up there and you were lucky to get clear sunrise after such a cloudy afternoon. In Slovenia most of the famous Alpine photo spots are nowhere near any road or hotel... so even more hiking!
However I think you still got the most out of it, the photos are beautiful and the drone footage is amazing! Epic as always :)
Thank you very much, Nina! And you're right. When it comes to the weather it's also about luck :)
Would love to see some Alp photos from Slovenia :)
Thank you very much, Krishna! That means a lot :)
Despite the lack of preparation, the photos are gorgeous ! You're a great source of inspiration in my personal photography learning pathway, as I really appreciate your humble approach. Thank you for all those great videos.
Thank you very much, Jean-Pierre! :)
I enjoyed this, but it made me happy that I am not a professional. I don't like at all to know what I am going to find before I get there! The joy, for me, is the discovery. Seeing what may jump out!
Hehe that has its benefits too. I prefer to come prepared as to have as much time as possible to be spontaneous ;)
Simply stunning mads......some footage looked like the moon....wow 😁😁😁😁
Thanks a lot Steven! Yes, it actually does :)
Absolutely incredible location! Definitely going on the bucket list but how on earth would you know where to start in such an epic location. Fantastic images and drone work!
A great vlog and beautiful images, stunning !!
Thank you very much, Nicholas :)
What a beautiful place! Enjoyed video very much.
I'm very happy to hear that Bill :)
Just wonderful...as always! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much, Bob! :)
Wow so impressive Mads, loved the video x
Thank you very much Sara! :)
Wonder video as usual. Thank you for the work you do to make these photos and places seem attainable for the rest of us (well for me at least). I find that your style of explaining the location, the thought process you use and showing the result very entertaining and informative.
Thank you very much, Tim! I'm happy you like the format!
What a bummer! :( Thanks for the location input :)
Fantastic video, when are we going to get some WORKSHOPS Mads!??!
Thank you very much, Justin :)
You can still make it! iceland-photo-tours.com/aurora-and-ice-caves-photo-tour-around-iceland/
Thank you so, so much Anna! Yes, it's also very famous for night photography this area :)
Great video again Mads! Your last drone shot reminded me of the fellowship of the ring while they travel through the misty mountains! Nicely done. Also, great podcast with Nick Page!
Thanks a lot! Happy you enjoyed the podcast. And that's exactly the feeling I want from my drone footage! :)
Another great video. could you tell me when this was shot. I am going there in the end of Feb. and wondering how accessible it is to trails. thanks
Thank you very much, David. We were there in September :)
Phenomenal drone footage. You shouldn’t be so hard on yourself. Beautiful shots! It would be really tough to have everything perfectly planned in such enormous and challenging geography.
Thank you very much and yes, you're right :)
The "panoramic" photo is just fantastic.
Thank you very much! :)
it seems like a great place.
I make a short sunset visit there this summer. which spot / side do you recommend to me, given that I only have one chance?
I think you should make that decision based on where the light will be :)
Mads Peter Iversen
Things can change quickly, now an overnight stay arranged in one of the hostels 👌🏻 but thanks for your reply.
Doubt a little between right into the sun or with the sun in the back and hope for a great alpine glow
What I meant is, go to the location which statistically has the biggest chance of getting the light you want ;)
I personally prefer shooting into the light, for me, it gives the most "atmospheric" / other-worldly effect.
Superb as always. what an utterly outstanding place and the photos are also Fantastic!!! :)
Thank you very much, Mark! :)
Breathtaking scenery Mads and you still managed to capture some wonderful images. I know its sometimes difficult to plan exactly what you want. I would have been running round like a headless chicken snapping everything in sight. In my opinion you did a great job here.
Haha thanks Jim! That's also my approach some times :)
Absolutely a beautiful location that I would love to visit. I guess doing your research and planning on a location like this would be needed. I do think the shots you took and the drone coverage was quite good. I think this is a location you will want to revisit in the future!
I'll be going back for sure one day! It is indeed a location of immens potential!
Great video of stunning views, spot on advice for us all.
I'm very happy to hear that Michael! :)
Absolutely stunning!
Thank you very much, Leigh-Ann!
Mads, still great image's & drone work to. Even unprepared, it was still inspiring work, looked amazing.
Thank you very much, Michael! Means a lot :)
Thank you Mark! And yes, I'll go back and nail it for sure ;)
Mads Peter Iversen that’s great! Good to know.. Thanks for replying
Once again I am filled with awe at your videos Mads, what an amazing place the Dolomites are, I can only hope I will get to visit them myself one day, loved the images, especially the one with the figure in the foreground, reminding us of how beautiful and wonderful the planet is we live on. :-)
Thank you very much, Ian! If you prioritize the time for it everything is possible :)
Great Video Mads will you return there at some point it looks so good thanks for your videos
Thank you very much, Rob! :)
Fantastic, i so look forward to your Vlogs & pics.
That's good to hear Jim! :)
I really like your honest approach in this excellent video. That location looks so big and epic. Despite your own lack of preparation I think you really got some big and beautiful captures. :)
Thank you very much, Hans! Always appreciated :)
Looks stunning to say the least!
Thank you very much, Michael!
He got some outstanding photos :)
amazing photos again Mads, great place, hope i can take photos like that if i dont prepare lol, excelent again
Haha Tudor! You will one day for sure ;)
Excellent video. Amazing drone footage..
Thank you very much, Rosie :)
You take me to places I will never get to see with my own eyes. Thank you!!
I'm happy to hear I can do that! :)
If it easier for you, you were in a good position in morning but in the wrong time of day. I was shoot one of my sunset photos from there. For sunrise spots for me it is better to continue towards the north, ie towards Locatelli hut. Another great video Mads!
Thank you very much, Rasica. Yeah those are all the part of better planning. Next time - I'll be ready ;)
To solve the issue with the other mountains looking small you could have tried a multi row pano with a slightly bit longer lens.
That could be a solution yes :)
Enjoyed the video. Although you didn’t feel 100% prepared, I liked the resulting photo’s quite a lot! Beautiful, actually.
But I take your lesson seriously: prepare as much as you can. Thank you for this one and looking forward to the next!
You're very welcome Martien! Happy to hear that. And yes, I'll prepare too for my next travels ;)
Great vlog Mads, found myself identifying with all your errors, that you selflessly confessed. I truly think I learnt a lot from this vlog i.e. importance of vigilance and preparation. Great drone pano at the end and last image with subject in foreground 👌
Thank you very much, Garry! Yes, exactly. Fail, evaluate, learn, improve! :)
incredible pictures and place.very nice.i have a question for you, which dron you use?thanks
Thank you very much, Miroslav. That was the DJI Phantom 3 standard :)
fantastic footage thankyou for your efforts.
You're very welcome Tony! :)
Really like all the photos you've taken this time !!
Thank you very much :)
Thanks a lot Matt! And yes, that's exactly right :)
I love all of your videos. Can I ask you how people get to Tres Chime at sunrise when the parking lot at Rifugio Aronzo is not open until 8 AM? Thanks
@@hoaihuong1234 They stay at one of the Rifugios I guess, that's what we do :)
