    Best Install Video to Date! Thanks!

    Great in depth video on this install.
    I would recommend that any and all electrical connections have a liberal amount of dielectric grease put into them , even the crimped and heat shrink connectors and any ground connections.
    This will keep the rust and corrosion out of them for a very long time.
    Install an air tank and appropriate pop off safety valve in the system to give the system a reserve and be much quicker.

    If you only have 5 pounds of air in the air bag will it lower the back end?

    Which fuse did you connect to? I'm having trouble finding a switched fuse.

      Still works great, but protecting it is a good idea, too.

    What is the maximum air pressure you can put in these air bags?

    • @joeinmi8671
      @joeinmi8671 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically 60 psi. as a rule of thumb for most air bags.

  • @frankminyon9927

    Great video, and thanks for making this available. Do you find that your compressor is constantly running to maintain the set psi with a load? Will the wireless screen indicate that it is running after it is in sleep mode while maintaining psi? I manually inflate my bags now with a portable air compressor and after I fill them and then immediately go back to check psi I notice an equal air loss of 5-10 psi in both bags. I checked for leaks on my airlines and with soap and water and do not see a leak. Both bags are completely independent right now...until I put the wireless on it.

      +Frank Minyon Doesn't leak much and doesn't run much. Still working great after a year of steady use.

    Will this work if I have a 4 1/2" lift kit?

    • @peepeesmelly1
      @peepeesmelly1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes . They have spacers to use for the bags on the airlift website

  • @ericmontez8463
    @ericmontez8463 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    do they make this to fit a 2015 silverado 1500 with a fifth wheel hitch?

    • @rickdrewyour4545
      @rickdrewyour4545 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put the Air Lift 500 kit on mine. Had to cut the tabs for the U bolt off the top bracket. A self tapping bolt is supplied in the kit to affix the front of the top bracket to the frame. You'll have to drill a 5/16" hole in the frame for this bolt. Instructions indicate this alternate manner. You may not have to cut the U bolt tabs off, depending on your fifth wheel frame assembly.

    any way for these to work with a 6 inch lift?

    • @editorialserviceswest6757
      @editorialserviceswest6757  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Andrew Sigo Capacity shouldn't matter much. Compressor will run more initially on larger bags but once the psi is in it shouldn't take extra to maintain.

    •  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Editorial Services West you need spacers when installed on a truck with a suspension lift.

    Janky install on that compressor. The back two bolts were crooked as hell!

    • @editorialserviceswest6757
      @editorialserviceswest6757  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Matt Harrison I know, right? But they are very solid and I never slide one of the those show car mirrors under my truck when it's parked. Good catch!

    • @lbeck119
      @lbeck119 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Editorial Services West In hind sight, would you of installed the compressor in the bed of the truck to keep it out of all the mud and road salt/grime? seems like a much better location

    • @editorialserviceswest6757
      @editorialserviceswest6757  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We considered it but they don't use salt where we live and we run our RZR in off road situations. The system is still working great after 6 years of use, but if you are in tougher conditions you can mount it elsewhere.

    I saw studys that this setup actually doesnt do anything. It makes it look correct but in reality no weight was distributed correctly by doing this.

    • @editorialserviceswest6757
      @editorialserviceswest6757  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think our summary at the end of the video describes it well. It does not increase or redistribute the load, that's not the purpose. It helps keep the truck in a level position when loaded. Note that we use a WD (weight distribution) hitch when towing with this truck. You can use WD only when towing. We also carry a RZR 900 Trail in this truck and the air bags are a big help. Also helpful when hitching and moving trailers without WD or before the WD hitching process is completed. It's been on the truck for years and we still use it a lot.
