    A trailer specifically for electric vehicles is a good idea. Collapsible when empty, extra braking and acceleration...
    Include a 2kwh battery, a bank of supercapacitors and an electric motor/regenerative braking system.
    Towing cuts mileage by so much beyond just an increase in mass. No regenerative braking and inefficient current draw while accelerating with heavy loads.

      Leave it at the camp site charging its 10kwh of batteries while you do other things.

      @@JohnSmith-pn2vl well... I'm glad you brought up the point of the cost of electricity... as many Americans can attest, the price of electricity in many regions is going up quickly and drastically. And as all auto manufacturers are trying to ramp up production of cars and more and more people convert to EVs, the demand for electricity is going up (along with the cost of batteries). As that is happening, the demand on the electric grid is going up. So, as more and more EVs are being produced, more electricity and electricity production is needed, therefore the cost of electricity will continue to rise (not only for charging cars). Add to this the extreme rise in cost of other goods as well. The average American NEEDS to spend less on electricity, because many simply can't afford it.
      One more great reason to bring efficiency to the forefront.

    I don't understand the concept of solar trailers, because if you're going to put solar somewhere may as well put solar where it's cheapest and won't be parked in the shade and doesn't have to be lightweight.
    The same solar put on the house could provide energy into the grid which then can get stored somewhere else and then use later. Or is energy that doesn't have to be used later. One kilowatt is 1 KW either way.

    Modding and tuning is not hacking. This is much closer to doing a tune on an ICE and inventing nefarious descriptions is how we all help making modding and tuning illegal as we transition to EVs.

    • @ymcpa73
      @ymcpa73 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They did it by modifying the software. That software isn't designed to be modified. Doesn't that make it hacking? It's not a mod since you are not changing parts and it's not tuning either. I don't think it's illegal since you own the car and should be fine if it doesn't make it dangerous on the road. I think if you tried to sell the hack to others, Tesla might be able to sue since you would be using their name in the advertising.

    • @_PatrickO
      @_PatrickO ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ymcpa73 Manufacturer tunes are not meant to be modified and modifying tunes are actually illegal due to environmental laws. Tunes are created by people who reverse engineer how to change settings the manufacture did not intend to be changed. It is literally the exact same thing. The third parties selling tunes just figured out how to streamline it for the consumer with dongles and software. Flipping settings stored in the computer to change performance. In an EV they are power limits and discharge curves, in an ICE they are fuel/air/timings.
      For an EV, tuning is actually legal because there are no environmental laws making it illegal. You are always allowed to modify your own stuff by law. Tesla can't even invalidate the warranty unless they prove your tune caused a component to fail, this is warranty law from the 70s and it applies to ICE cars too. Tesla has only been able to ban supercharging, but that goes away if they open up their network for subsidies, then all they can do is charge you the public rate and not the tesla rate. Even then, laws should catch up and put a stop to anyone blocking any car from charging as every car performs their own battery monitoring and can turn off their own charging if there is an issue internal to the car, the charger does not need to police that. The charger just needs overall circuit breakers that trip beyond the capacity the charger and cable is rated for.
