Simple and brilliant technique ! Watercolours are wondrous subject to explore for me! Very difficult to master! Thank you for sharing your wisdom! Bless
Thank you,madam...I'll learn from your technique, it's look easy but not really to paint easy. Your experience teaching everyone to know to find their way, I'm the one in these persons. God Bless You and your families
Hi, Jenny. May I suggest 3 things? Go buy 3 or 4 tube watercolors, remove the word "never" from your comment, and try. I believe where there is such appreciation, there is ability. Have fun. If a child said she couldn't do something, you would probably suggest she try first, right? 💖
Today was a Serendipity day for me. I found your video. Magnificent. What control you have over that paint and water. What control you have knowing when to stop. I will devour all your other videos and if you don't mind attempt this technique. Thank you for sharing so freely.
🥰🙏🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨🙋🏼♀️just WOW, I LOVE your work, the end results are just gorgeous BUT what I really like the most is the absolute joy on your face as you look at the finished magical masterpieces. Thank you so very much for sharing and shining. 🙏🎨😍 Can you say what grade, thickness of paper you are using for us with a new love of watercolour. 💜💞
The paper is normal watercolour paper 300 g. If it buckles, I turn it upside down, put water on it with a big flat paintbrush, and after 5 minutes I tape it all around and let it dry. Then it is straight again.
Hi Lena I love your work and I tried out some of the techniques I see.you do. I use Bockingford watercolor paper 300gsm. I do have a couple of questions for you please. Do you have to enhance the colors after they dried? Mine dried very faded. Why? Is it the colours I'm using?
Dear Louise. If the colours fade it is either because you don't use enough paint or because of a bad quality. The cheeper the paint is the longer there is between the pigments.
Yes - it is not made for watercolour. I had a lot of work myself to find it, because it has to be acidfree. Some people write to me, that they will try Yupo, which I guess is some kind of plastic. But I use cardboard a little bit shining. Ask the store if they can deliver it acid free.
@@lenagemze662 thank you for your reply. I am mesmerized by your work. You mentioned in one reply to try cardboard. Do you mean like poster board? Should it have some absorbency. I will continue to follow you and hope you can shed some light on this. You are so kind to share your beautiful paintings.
@@janeschafer9931 Dear Jane. In the video above, I am using cheap watercolour paper 300 g. In other videos I sometime use cardboard and maybe it is the same as poster board. It does not absorb very good - thats why the colours run so fast. After I paint on cardboard I use a spray fixing for watercolour paintings. Does this answer help you?
@@sand3882 Thank you! I shall try it some day. But still it is made of plastic - I think it is polypropylen! But I know that many artists like it and use it!
It is acidfree cardboard usually used for posters not mend for watercolour painting. 400-700 g. It is smooth (much smoother than watercolour paper) but not shining, and in fact it is very cheap.
@@gianfrypj4 I usually use Winsor & Newton or Lucas which is very good but cheaper, but I think it doesn't matter as long as you use artists watercolour.
Love your paintings, I have tried your technique and love the results, how many colors do you use for each painting and do you use mostly the same colors for each picture.
Thank you Georgia! Right now I like the most: Windsor & Newton: Quinacridone Gold, Antwerp Blue, Ivory Black, Sepia and Lucas: Paynes Grey. The paintings look very different - it all depends on how much colour you use of each one..
Lena! What can I say? I've watched your amazing videos!! This is absolutely Gorgeous! Can you list the colours? I will attempt this on a small scale. Thank you for sharing!😘👍💖 🎨
Thank you Liz. Sorry for answering so late. You can see the colours at the beginning of the video - about 13 seconds from the start. I took a photo of the tubes.
Love your technique. Hate the music. Would much prefer to hear the artist talking even if it's just babble. I always turn the sound way down. Watercolour is my favorite medium. It's magical.
Thank you! Guess it's good without sound. And: Yes! Watercolour is magical!!! And we are only a little more than 5 million Danes, so I am not talking on my videos.

That is wonderful! It is wild to watch your subtle control while at the same time you so completely let watercolor do its thing!

Aye, aye!
Not too shabby. Nice snappy music too.
