I disagree. Compared to Ghost Protocol and especially Joe Kraemer's excellent score in Rogue Nation, my honest opinion is that some of Lorne's stuff borrows too much vibes from Hans Zimmer's style and tones in The Dark Knight Rises for example. The previous films since M:I 3 have been grounded in the old school tradition of non-sampled orchestral scores, which gives these films a lot of personality and respects the whole history of this genre. I'm not saying that Balfe's new score is bad - I'm saying that it lacks a bit of humanistic elements and personality.
His score for AC3 was just phenomenal 👌
