Great list! Thanks for sharing. I'm including some of these books in my to-read list.
There’s a whole universe of books to discover. The last one I read was When Dying Is Not a Problem and I loved it. Thanks for sharing this material! It always comes in handy!

The cover of scorched grace is absolutely killer though!

Loved the Cabin AT the End OF The World and the ending is why it has stayed with me.

I really appreciate your reviews and am always happy to get a few recommendations to add to my TBR. I'm in a slump and needed this! I was reading some of the goodreads award winners and noticed a definite telling not showing vibe that is getting exhaustive and ingenuine. Adding Not So Perfect Strangers to my March TBR-thank you!

Ohhh The Venue sounds good! I love hearing about books that are not heard of.

I’ve now added The Venue to my want to read list. Have you read anything by Dot Hutchison or Wendy Webb? I think both are great writers.

I really enjoyed the Last Party! Looking forward to the second one coming out this year :) I have given Clare Mackintosh four or five stars for every book I have read.

Oh shoot and here I was waiting for the The Cabin at the End of the World movie XD Don't get me wrong I'll watch it still for the actors but now I'm intrigued to see the differences! Love your vids!!

I also read the Venue in February and it was so fun and fast paced! An easy 5 star! I had originally heard of it bc someone said if you like Squid Game then you might like The Venue, and idk if I'd say there were super similar, but I do enjoy a good "kill or be killed" scenario/game trope.

Just a thought, In Patricia wants to cuddle, maybe the women were portrayed and written as archetypes deliberately not because the author holds a negative view of women but to make a stark point about how it is a business to box and stereotype women and commodify them. Also, maybe a harsh truth about how people in certain industries view women- they must fit a certain box. Also, making women look good is supposedly the business (in general) but really, this is what is. Maybe that’s her point, or I could be wrong too.

I haven't read patricia wants to cuddle yet bc I forgot to get it from the library, but I still want to jot down this thought so I can come back to it after I read the book: Regarding the women being archetypes and being portrayed badly, if the book is a critique of reality shows/The Bachelor, maybe that's on purpose? Mimicking the shady editing and somewhat scripted drama and cattiness of those shows?

I guess they just never felt human to me. Like it felt like the author was writing about people she hated and gave them no redeeming qualities. I won’t spoil anything, but based on the directions different types of characters storylines go… it just felt weird to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was just curious if you or anyone else has read Sister, Madien, Monster? I’m 71% into the audiobook and it is the strangest book I’ve come across in a while! It’s very livecraftian horror set in a post pandemic world. Like I said only 71% in but so far def recommend and would love to hear what others have to say! :)

I haven't read The Venue, but going by how you describe it I think you'd really enjoy So Happy for You by Celia Laskey
