Guard Counters on this weapon are kinda slow tbh due to the multiple hits. You kinda need something to help its guard counters be good, like the flask tear.
What is there to talk about backhand blades? SSS tier above every other weapon, straight up beats everything with ease. Blind spot L2 into two attacks and then repeat that till you win with little to counterplay as the bleed will interrupt retaliation and even parries. 2 attacks deal 60% hp and proc the extra 30% bleed instantly.

I love using these weapons but something needs changed on them. Maybe making the poise damage worse for some attacks could be good. Correct, it's just a good roll catch but not a true combo. And for your second question, I'm assuming he's using the godslayer seal because of the low faith requirement and high scaling. Bloodflame blade is mostly useful because of the way the bleed stacks, while the fire damage doesn't really scale well with faith regardless of wich seal you use. Hope this helps!
