NYCTA/MaBSTOA | 1979-80 Grumman Flxible 870 Review !

This is my first review of a bus from way back when. It is also a sucessor of Kal-El, the high ranked transit historian who made a review of these in October 2018(now I was the second one to review in 2019, but remastered this year). It's sad that those Grummans made a poor background for NYCT, and thanks to David Gunn and the rest of this agency that I can never have a 100% taste of the transit bus family evolution(like other bus fanners from older generations). I also wish Flxible Co. hadn't close back then, so that I can see more Grummans(even the '95 Metro Es being awarded) and less Orion Vs they may relate too. Nevertheless, those 870s are actually my 3rd favorite buses(one of my top favorite retired fleet). I'm most happy that PA236 is preserved since the mid '80s until it was last seen in 2013 at a bus festival. But, it wouldn't run with the engine cradle until fixed by mid-2019(still no bus festival runs).
And the latest in June 2021, I can mention that I had spoken with a Flxible Metro B owner during the mayoral campaign in Canarsie. It is advertising on the end screen of this review.

Once the issues were resolved, they proved to be great buses. A proper shake down was simply in order. Just look at that styling, it was like a cross between a city bus and an intercity highway coach bus. Clean lines, tinted windows, great torque, simple interiors, spanking cold AC, etc. I even got to ride them in San Juan PR, where they were beloved by the riding public too. Goodnite sir . Now that was a awesome Grumman flxble . Review video.sir. Thank's for the childhood Flashbacks. The Grumman are the Buses of my childhood. Sense I had lived in Jamaica Queens. The private Bus did'nt have no issue I had enjoyed every chance to ride on them . From my Childhood - to my early Adulthood.The MTA were acting like Idiots about Grummans . A New York City Bus Made .If it was'nt for the Grumman 870 the would'nt be no orion 5. Or

They made the R46s worked. They became the most efficient trains of it time. But they started off really bad.
Anyway, if money could fix a train, it could have fixed these buses.
