Sam, approx 3 hours drive west from Sydney is the Bathurst Mt Panarama circuit, this is a must do!, it is a public road most of the year and well worth the trip!
Still can't help feeling you might have got a car for getting the best of driving European roads, rather than a car for taking on any kind of road. Looking forward to seeing the journey either way!
When in Victoria (Melbourne) make sure to come via Marysville and drive the Black Spur (the Pagani Raduno travelled these roads earlier this year) or come via Reefton and drive the Reefton Spur. These are some of the best roads in Victoria where you can legally drive fast and have endless corners/amazing scenery for many kilometres
Sam, you should get a stocker from each country/city and put it in a door/wing. It’ll look a mess but will chart a journey and will be covered when you’re done. Completely unique and personal to the trip.

Haha. Back in the 1970's my uncle was in the Royal Navy and was offered a job by the Royal Australian Navy to re-organise their signals. Back then they had something like 100% duty on imported vehicles but if you were immigrating you could bring in one vehicle each free of tax. So, my uncle and aunt shipped over her Jaguar E-Type and his Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible. Nearly doubled their money. They went on to buy a 1930's Rolls Royce and a 1910 Hotchkiss. I can remember getting stopped at customs in Melbourne and getting detained as my walking boots were muddy ! Fifteen minutes they came back with my boots looking super clean .

Definitely need to do a lap of the Bathurst racetrack on the drive from Brisbane to Sydney. It's about as close to the Nurburgring as you'll get down here.

I drove the Nullarbor Plain in a Nissan Sunny. No worries. John Eyre described the Plain as "a hideous anomaly, a blot on the face of Nature, the sort of place one gets into in bad dreams".
When in Sydney, it would be great to meet with the boys from #mightycarmods at their restaurant "WISHBONE" Also a visit to #Kollectorcars would be a great experience :D
You must drive around Mount Panorama NSW the circuit they run the Bathurst 1000, it’s a public highway and an easy run from the Blue Mountains with its very own Aussie Motorsport Museum.

The Monash Freeway in Melbourne during peak hour is a great drive, especially with roadworks.
I can vouch for this. I did the Great Ocean Road in 2014 and it was truly epic! Sam must do this.

You really need to do the Nullarbor Plain from Adelaide to Perth. It's actually one of the worlds great road experiences.

The Nullarbor isn't that perilous, just don't drive at night / twilight, car clubs occasionally do it. It is a very long drive.
Adelaide to perth is a 2 day trip..and in january get ready for some got 45c days..hope u got good aircon

Perth to NZ? that doesn't make much sense. Why not Perth -> Melbourne -> Sydney -> Brisbane -> NZ.
Perth to Auckland is actually a very popular flight path according to Air New Zealand so it's likely they're getting a good deal on the flight.
Might not make sense for sam himself but would make sense for where the 911 is going next on the boat.
