I'm still inlove with old kpop culture. It shows realistic standards and showcase the true talents of their artists. Though there are some good new kpop songs, it lacks something.
2nd gen is my fav but the expectations they were held to when it comes to body/weight and image was literally nothing realistic. They had it way worse back then.

I miss the times when you didn't need to watch MR removed videos to prove performances were actually live because the volume of their mics was actually loud enough to be clearly heard. Music shows nowadays have the volume of the mics at their minimum level and the instrumental is always so so sooooo loud that even when are indeed singing over no playback, it sounds like a whisper and when they use a studio version it's impossible to know if they sang live or not (without doing the MR which usually suck, btw) I miss performances like this!

There are times when they perform that there backtrack is more louder than there vocal. I'm not saying they always lip sync. I just made an Observation and compare it to SNSD performace. Twice Debut and early years they were lip syncing. Or there back track are loud.

Still watching in 2019 💖 You can clearly tell how they've improved their vocals ever since then and how the Kpop training has improved from 10 years ago. I could say that most of today's Kpop girl groups have learned from these queens. :)
I feel like current groups have improved dancing but deteriorated singing, since they don't have to sing live as much. Back in the days live singing was common so less effort was put into dancing to make the vocals more stable.
@@layniedee It depends. Dancing can be hard to master as well, but it might be easier to train compared to singing. Singing is more about being gifted. If you don't have the voice then there's nothing much you can do. That's probably why companies are more focused on improving the dance. You could always use background vocals to cover up bad singing, but you can't cover up poor dancing. In snsd's era, idols had a better balance of both imho. Groups had half vocal lines and half dance lines, instead of having just 2-3 better ones in a 9+ member group.
