Ok, that cast on is brilliant. I've never seen that before, thanks for the new skill! It somehow looks easier to me than regular foundation single crochet. I have some 24/7 cotton in my stash, so I think I'm going to make this pattern but longer to make an ID lanyard. My sister is a teacher and she's begging me to crochet her a lanyard lol. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I have become addicted to the long tail cast on and try to use it whenever I can. I just love the sturdiness and nice clean edge it creates! If you post any pics of your sis’s lanyard, I’d love to see it! I’m @alpenglowbasin on all the Socials! Have fun! 🥰
I just found this video and I am making it. I’m using hobby lobby’s fundamental cotton yarn. Color lipstick 💄 I’m loving it! So so cute. I’m gonna be a new subscriber. Thanks I hope the rest of your videos are as clear as this one. 🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
Thank you and welcome to my channel! Others have also mentioned HL Fundamental cotton, and YES, it’s an excellent sub for LB 24/7 cotton! Have fun and tag me @alpenglowbasin on IG or FB if you post in either place!
Thank you for your support with your purchase of the pattern - it really makes a difference! I’m so glad to hear that you found value in both formats, and I hope you love your keychain(s)! 🥰
This is such a brilliant tutorial, so clearly explained and great video photography as I can see your stitches perfectly. So easy to follow and it worked up beautifully. So excited as I have so many yarn ends I can now put to good use! Thank you so much, you really deserve heaps of followers/subscribers!😊
What a way to brighten my Sunday morning - you have made my day with your sweet comment! Thank you so much Jenny! I am so happy you found my tutorial and can put those yarn scraps to work. I have a drawer full too 🥰🤪!
Hi Colleen! I make my own tags from leather I purchase at a craft store or leather supplier like Tandy.com. I use weights ranging from 3-5 oz. Faux leather is another option. There are many people who sell custom tags on Etsy if you don’t want to make your own. The pattern includes some additional information about adding tags. Thanks for watching! 💕
Thank you! It’s such a fun make. I cover color changes and various color scheme options in the full pattern available on Etsy or Ravelry. Here’s the link to the pattern on Etsy creatoriq.cc/3oM8U9L
Thank you, I just made a slew of them this weekend for fall market! I make my tags from faux leather or from light weight leather strips I purchase through Tandy Leather online. They are a bit of a chore to make though. I found these on Etsy that are the correct size and have the right number of holes for sewing. I’ve posted my affiliate link to the listing below and in the description box. If you decide to try them, please let me know how they work out for you! Rating is 5-stars as of posting this comment…. creatoriq.cc/3MFfxDf
Personally, I prefer cotton for these, but 100% YES, both will work! Just check your length with the slight differences in weight and add or subtract a couple of foundation stitches, if needed, to optimize the length.
I absolutely love this tutorial & appreciate your time & effort of sharing this with fellow crocheters 🥹😁 when you use the fluffier yarn, did you change the hook size? Im currently in the middle of making some wristlets using your tutorial & cant wait to see how they turn out & will definitely give you all the credit & show pics if i can 😊🫶🏾
Thanks for your kind words! I’m so glad you found the tutorial. 🥰 I do go up in hook size when using a thicker yarn. I recommend using the one suggested on the yarn label or maybe one size smaller to make sure you get acceptable stitch definition. You also might want to experiment with fewer starting chains since the thicker yarn might also cause your wristlet to be too long. Have fun and tag me @alpenglowbasin on IG or FB if you post pics there. Can’t wait to see!
@@alpenglowbasin I used the 4mm hook & it came out so stinking cute, I'm in love 🥰 I'll try a couple more in different hook sizes & see what happens 🫣😏Awesome, I sure will!! 🫶🏾🥂
@@alpenglowbasinOMG yes they are lol I've made 4 wristlets in different colors, working on the 5th one & I love love love them, I've even made matching scrunchies 🥰💙🧶
I find that a 4mm (US G6) hook works great for this project! You want you gauge to be on the tighter side for the yarn you are using to make sure you get good stitch definition.
I’ve never been able to get my hands on the LB 24/7 cotton but I’m currently using (Hobby Lobby’s) Yarn Bee Fundamental Cotton that is 100% mercerized cotton. It has a light sheen to it too. So I think this could be a good substitute! I plan to make this longer to be a bag strap for another project I’m working on 🥰 I’ll let you know how it works up!
Yessss! You’ll have to let me know how it goes! It dawned on me after publishing the video that HL Fundamental Cotton IS similar to LB 24/7 cotton! Hope they turn out ah-mazing! ❤️
@@alpenglowbasin it did! It works great! I think it might be a smidge too long but that’s okay. It worked great! I’ll have to post some pictures once the bag it goes to all done too🥰

Thank you for sharing your pattern,
Can I make it longer and use a different yarn ??
Absolutely! I have used plush yarns and a couple others, ultimately, the mercerized cotton was my favorite, but many others work well!
It’s so amazing to learn your stitches may I know what is the name of your yarn ty
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the tutorial! I am using 24/7 Cotton from LionBrand Yarns. It is the CYC4 version (aka worsted) and not the DK version.
Can you share the link on the leather band you showed

How many keychains can you get out of one skein of the lion 24/7 cotton yarn?
It will depend a little on your personal tension, but I get 14-15 from a single 100g skein of Lionbrand 24/7 cotton.
I like this and I like to do it with 2 colors. How to do that?

Great tutorial! How can i make it bigger?
Thanks! To make it longer, you can start with as many cast on stitches as you like!
I love this! I can throw these in the wash when my grandkids get it dirty right?
I don’t see why not! Thanks so much n 💕

I only have 3 mm or 6mm hook. Which would you recommend?
I would go with the 3mm and maybe add some extra foundation stitches to be sure you get about 8-8.5 in length after Row 1.
Can you make a tutorial how to
Change colors please 🙏🏽
