- Residents of Pecan Grove are now speculating about the origins of the unexpected packages as the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office investigates.
No question in my mind...this was a series of 'probing attacks', in preparation of a premeditated event.
They didnt show the woman's face but showed the homeowners license plate
Yeah, that was kinda dumb. Her face must have been on camera at one point. That would've been a lot more helpful. 🙄

They're leaving packages on your door to see how long they sit there in order to determine whether or not you actively watch for packages which can mean you're too busy to notice or you're simply not home enough period. They're trying to setup home invasions.

Possibly. If this is erroneous deliveries from a company then the company needs to label the packages better so that these recipients can return them to the sender.
Get everyone used to the idea of it just being harmless water... and then one day it isn't water...
I worked in an AIDS inpatient facility 35 years ago. One day a woman came in with a huge platter of cookies and started going to the patients rooms to hand them out without getting approval of the staff. I stopped her, there was a struggle but she finally left without the cookies. Police had them analyzed and they were all full of ground glass to kill the patients by bleeding to death internally.

@@Zenoff64 If that is their intention, they deliver some harmless water, perhaps to _more_ people than they need to. This conditions the people that the deliveries are weird but harmless. Then, they deliver packages to their targets that are not harmless:
- perhaps a box with a bottle without a cap that, when tipped, releases a chemical that reacts with something else in the insulated bag and causes:
explosion?
fire?
toxic gas?
A malicious person would not have to search for "inspiration." There are already many videos just here on YT that show chemical reactions.

One time our mailbox had boxes of store brand dryer sheets placed in it We thought it was weird but dismissed it. The next day we heard that a woman in the neighborhood was arrested for putting the dryer sheets in random people's mailboxes. Her car was filled to the brim with them and she was wearing a wedding dress. I don't know anything else about what was going on with her but yeah...

That's not how facial recognition works. Once you widen to larger than a few thousand people, people look too similar to identify them by face alone. You need other statistics or references at that level.
Because it was one of thos shit cloud service security cams that only records when it detects motion and there is a lag.
They are setting you up for a home invasion or burglary. If you don’t pick it up until the business day is over. The thief will know you are not home during the day, giving them a green light to break into your house.

No, they said that HAZMAT determined it to be “water”. They didn’t say whether or not it had been tested for any infectious disease, or even if it had been screened for drugs.

It's to case peoples homes. Sometimes they will bring an empty box wit no label on it at all. if they are seen by neighbors, walking up with a box they assume it's a delivery and wont take note of the vehicle or person.
Yep, they are likely looking for homes to loot or squat in, and checking who leaves packages to sit for a while and who doesn't.
They're casing the housing to break in later. Packages that are left at the door for a period of time will signal that possibly no one is home or around. That or it's some Amazon fake review booster.

Our town had oreo cookies delivered to everyones mailbox. Nobody ordered them and they didn't come from the factory. Then the town next to us had seeds delivered to them. Same thing. Nobody knew why.
Did they check the tape on the box for fingerprints? What else was in the water bottles besides water? Drugs? Poison? Someone is not doing this as a joke, there is a reason they are doing this and it is serious!

I have seen local police in action for decades. They need to be keeping the packages and bottles; they should be testing the boxes for prints. They need to be combing through people’s doorbell camera footage… but I know they have done none of these things, because this is texas.

This probably isn't that kind of scam, but if someone ships something to you that you did not ask for, especially via the United States postal service, and later tries to charge you for it, you are legally not required to pay anything, or return anything.

I used to work at a place and sometimes we would find weird things next to the door when we'd open. Like letters/notes written by a clearly mentally unwell person with all types of jibber jabber written down, random trinkets and sometimes a gift card. The gift cards actually had money on them sometimes and we'd be so happy and use them for lunch. Anyways, maybe this person is mental.

This is common in neighborhoods where someone may have a vacation home. Its a tactic used by porch pirates and burglars/other criminals to see who is home and how often they are home. Its water bottles to give it weight to feel legit. They used to use crackers under the doormat to see if they were smashed. Now they use this now that there is so many cameras to look legit dropping off a package. Also yes, innocent people are coerced into dropping these off.
If you have a foot mat that says: Welcome.... Get rid of it. Most likely it is a response time test for Police.
