Question is who the hell cares? this isn't real life. This is a video game. People are annoying as hell acting as if this is some real military scenario. This real war happened over 70 years ago.
I have less than 70 hours on HLL and I feel these videos are helping me get to the next level. It's not always about ADS, point and shoot, it's also about understanding the greater scheme. I LOVE the sniper role as it gives me a wider level of autonomy, but sadly (and understandably) that role is always protected by the same 4 guys on all servers... My 2 cents on the riffleman: Communicate with your squad, follow orders, don't hesitate to ask for direction, stick to your squad's general vicinity, offer to swap roles when it's needed (AT, MEDIC, SUPPORT, etc...) and I shouldn't have to mention this but.... NEVER EVER EVER EVER Team kill on purpose. Nothing breaks the immersion like a troll.
I got my rifleman up to level 6 as soon as I could. While I could play as assault, I feel like having an assault and at least a rifleman level 6 in a squad drastically increases firepower (as germans). Especially while my squad is defending.
another good tip I learned from squad: if you or your squad is about to enter a compound, have everyone chuck a nade over the wall, then push in. not many do it but it completely puts the odds in your favor every time you do it.
Additional tip from a competitive Machine Gun player with just over 1000 hours in the game: Don't overuse smoke and don't EVER use smoke when defending. When defending you want to see the enemy. Remember, they are trying to get to you so if you throw smoke it only helps them get closer. Also, when attacking, don't throw smoke where you're going to run. An enemy MG will most likely just blast into the smoke and kill you anyway. Throw it between the enemy and your advance and don't run through it. The enemy will be waiting for any movement they see in the smoke and this only blinds you while all they have to do is wait. Instead, make a diagonal wall of smoke and advance diagonally. Tips for how to acta round friendly Machine Gunners: Don't run in front of them. If they're holding a street and is expecting enemies to cross up ahead, don't just run in front. Either run behind or clearly tell him to hold fire so you can cross safely. Don't throw smokes in front of MGs. Best case scenario they will just lie there and wait. Worst case is that they will now run after you and yell at you, start a vote kick on you or they will just straight up TK you. If you're in a window and and MG wants your spot, let him take it. His weapon is much better suited for that position than you are with an assault rifle or SMG. The reason why I'm naming those specifically is because that's the most common sight. A low level playwer with either an SMG or AR camping in a window but is completely useless. If an MG is already set up in a window in a house, don't get upset if he takes a while to move for you to be able to get by him. He's probably waiting patiently for enemies to pop their heads out.
Oh they definitely are. Using a recon tank has a very “fast and loose” play style whereas a heavy is much more slow and methodical. The trade offs for each stand out a lot, and their weaknesses are expertly highlighted I think as AT use different approaches for each.
I honestly find support or medic a better role for new players than rifleman, up to a point. Support generally has the same starting load out except for the supply box, and even then when communication sucks, supply box communication is almost always present. It’s a foot in the door to the supply mechanic, and gives a sense of contribution even if they keep getting shot by veteran players they never see. Medic is great because there less emphasis on dueling with rifles, and more about saving teammates. The practice they get with a) avoiding enemy fire, b) tactical grenade throwing, and c) situational awareness makes for excellent entry skills. Although both roles do take a bit more skill, the immediate and long term payoff is worth it (in my opinion). As a squad lead, if I see anyone playing rifleman under level 30, I advise them to play medic or support, and guide them through the small entry-hurdles of the roll. Within the same match, some of them earn MVP on their team.
Blueberry that came from the epic free week here, I love the medic(and reccon but that's usually taken) role, not only do other blueberries shoot me less but it helped me learn how to effectively use smokes and learn from other people what kinda positions were safer and which ones weren't. Sure sometimes you get 5 newbies that run up a hill together in file-line, get gunned down and scream at you for not smoking out the entire sector to try rescuing them, but that's a price I'm willing to pay because i always get the free exp from my squadmates after i res them 6 times in one fight while still being effective in combat

Garand is OP in my view. Balance would be achieved if it had a historically correct (smaller) rear sight aperture so you couldn’t so easily spam at close range
The Garand really was OP in real life. Patton referred to it as “The greatest implement of battle ever devised”. It somewhat makes up for the American’s lack of a decent general purpose machinegun. That rear ghost ring sight is tough to simulate in a game. In real life a ghost ring turns in to a fuzzy circle when you’re focusing on the front post. Being small in this case is a benefit, not a drawback.
@@singleproppilot How do you think it should be nerfed? I totally agree with the sight issue, but other than a nerf in damage (which would be strange considering it shot a beefy bullet) I can’t really think of anything
@@imme8471 I don’t think the Garand should be nerfed. If anything, they should achieve balance in more realistic ways. The American AT class should not be carrying around a Garand with 8 clips, a Bazooka, two rockets, and two grenades. That’s way more firepower and way more weight carried than any other class. The devs don’t seem to have figured out how to simulate the relative abundance or scarcity of equipment in historically accurate ways. There should be way less submachineguns for both the Americans and the Germans, but the Americans had Garands, and the Germans had two machineguns per squad, and every soldier acted as an ammo carrier for their machineguns. Meanwhile, the Soviets armed entire divisions with PPSh-41 submachineguns, because they didn’t have enough rifles or light machineguns to go around. That’s an aspect of historical conflicts that games never seem to get right. Either side throws whatever equipment they have available in to the fight, and it’s not always the same, and rarely equal.

Hi from London 🇬🇧. I've been watching hell let loose on since it's release. Have now acquired the game on Xbox. You're indepth analysis and information is a blessing. Thank you.
Another great video from SoulSniper! Even at over 550 hours it’s always great hearing advice reiterated. A lot of people sleep on Rifleman I feel because it’s that noob starting class, but I honestly find it to be much more useful in straight up fights than other classes due to it’s resupply aspect mixed with a healthy helping of firepower. Let me tell you as a guy who is usually running Support the lack of grenades on the second loadout hurts. It hurts a lot. Always appreciate it when people hammer home the importance of communication in this game. It’s so much more fun actually participating with your team than running off by yourself to attempt to get a kill streak. I just had a game the other day playing as AT where I racked up 7 vehicle kills (4 tanks, 2 trucks, 1 half track) and if it wasn’t for my squad it wouldn’t have been possible. Also, I don’t know what it is about the Mosin but I feel it handles way better than the K98. Don’t know what it is, but I’m far more accurate with it than the K98. Still, gotta respect the people who can win close quarters with that thing cause it is stressful! Can’t wait to see some more tutorial videos!
Just started playing HLL last night I was blown away..(literally) and also by the realism of the battlefield. I love the atmosphere of the game. You feel like a small but important part of a larger machine... These vids are very informative and enjoyable and I would like to thank you for the exceptional job that you've done explaining so many different aspects of this game... You have earned yourself a new subscriber and I am considering joining the channel. I play on PS5 not PC but if possible I'd love to join in with your server...🙏💪💯✌️
Thanks man. I just went through my first few rounds of HLL and I absolutely dig it. Players are nice and funny and I want to help out as much as possible. When our team won, I felt like I was part of it and defending the objective like my squad leader told me was key to success for my third game. Can’t wait to get back into it.
In my experience using any rifle, you need to *know* your rifle for how much damage you can cause. You also need to not wait - when you see an enemy running, aim to where they are going to be and shoot. If you wait too long, they can duck behind cover or a convenient bunker then you are exposed. For bolt action, you'll have to have good cover or movement skills if you are going to be successful. It's all about practice. Try one role at a time starting with Rifleman and work your way through the load outs. Good luck! (Pally)
I find the Soviet Grenadier class to be the best out of all of them. The abundance of grenades, ability to resupply them, and the Mosin Carbine make for a powerful rifleman class. Though I agree with the difficulty of use concerning the regular Mosin, the Carbine's sights (as shown at 3:58) make for a good balanced sight. You have clear sight picture and the iron sights aren't too large (a problem I've had with the Kar98 where you have a limited view to the left and right of the sights, making it a bit painful to use at longer ranges). This excels (from personal experience) in Stalingrad, particularly on defence as the Soviets, as you can see and engage targets at distance with more precise and clear iron sights than the Germans or Americans have (I'm looking at you giant M1 Garand hoop). I enjoyed the video though! Great content, consider me subscribed!
Hey man, to each their own! The G43 has my favorite sight picture, personally. And in fairness, I have less experience using the Soviet rifles. I'm sure if I used them more often I'd get more used to them. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the sub man!
I played with this guy yesterday, and it was my first match! Now watching his videos to hone my skills which is sick. Getting into this game has been so fun
Yes!!! I was hoping you would end up seeing the video lol. I was scrubbing through gameplay footage while editing and as soon as I heard you say "Now we have no spawns...bollocks!" I knew exactly where to stick that clip lol. Epic that it's become the clan meme too!
That was the goal when I made it! I've got role guides from Rifleman all the way up to Commander, so feel free to come on back to the channel when you're ready to step up to another role. Plenty of other general HLL guides here as well. Enjoy!
I started this game 2 weeks ago and when I see a fellow fresh blueberry I always tell them to look you up, watched all of them the day before my first game and I hit the ground running
1:49 those are actually concussion grenades (still lethal but use the shockwave to kill instead of shrapnel) the Wehrmacht more commonly used a more conventional egg shaped frag grenade but it doesn’t often get depicted because the concussion grenade is much more iconic. They did however issue shrapnel sleeves to add more fragmentation, it was basically a ring of metal that had dozens of bumps all over it that you would slide onto the grenade.
Started playing tonight (Playstation). Rifleman. My machine gunner needed ammo however I didn't know how to actually give it to him (headset was charging). I also ran out of ammo myself once and didn't know how to resupply or pick something up off of the ground. Great stuff here and somewhat binging on it!
So...here's the thing. I'm not a tanker! But I do have some folks in the discord who are excellent tankers, so with some collaboration I could probably make a pretty great tank guide!
I believe so, yes. And the PTRS-41 (Soviet AT rifle) is actually resupplied using the small arms ammo box, which I forgot to mention in the video as well.
@@SoulSniperYT Can you explain how this works? I have a half-empty clip and 2 spare clips; when I reload, do I have a full clip and 1.5 spares somehow? I just can't wrap my head around it.
Think of it as total bullets. Let's say you have 10 magazines with 10 rounds each. You have 100 bullets. You fire 5 bullets, then reload. You now have 95 bullets. So you don't actually lose the other 5 bullets that were in that magazine when you put a new magazine in. Does that make sense?
And also, don't reload while your in the middle of a close quaters combat it your enemy will just take the oppetunity and kill you. (works in all shooter games)
Right - I made that mistake in the video even and fully expected someone to call me out on it. :) The clip with the M1 Garand where I talk about it being capable up close in person. Killed a dude, reloaded, and there were two more right there. Luckily for me, they had stormtrooper aim so I was able to finish reloading and wipe them out anyway. :)
Also irl, I think the iron sight on the M1 can flip from a bigger sight picture hole for shorter range, to a smaller sight picture hole for longer range targets. It's essentially the same iron sight on the carbine, m16, and iron sight M4/AR platforms if I'm not mistaken? It would be cool to have that toggle option to flip and a very slight zoom on the smaller sight picture.
Thanks man. Weapon of choice for me, is the MP 44. I ground out the assault class to the lvl 4 load out with the satchel. Did the same with engineer class, and the AT class. And yes I play support.
Dude I had so much trouble with my rifle skills I recently got into this game and when it came to bullet drop and distancing but then he explained it so good and in depth I actually started doing better loving all these videos I'm binge watching them and rewatching them when I have spare time
It's fairly similar I'd say. It was the developers main inspiration when making the game. It's kind of like Red Orchestra and Battlefield had a baby. :)
I had a match where I simply said, "fuck it everyone, pick your most grenade heavy loadouts." I was a German rifleman, with the 3rd loadout. We had a support with the boxes, a grenadier assault officer had the 3 n 3 and two 2nd loadout rifleman. (19 frags, 11 smokes x2 due to explosive boxes) dont know how I convinced them, but needless to say, every role matters in some way.
If you’re a new player as well, take your time hold and angle and wait this game is an endurance test if you keep running around getting one shotted you’ll get aggravated quick and watch where people shoot. You might be in an angle where you can do some damage for you comrades, but take your time and wait and hold and they will funnel in to you trust me
Great video bro! i'll throw in my to cents: M1 Carbine lets you aim faster. Better when sprinting. If you are grateful after being patched up by a medic, offer to put out the ammunition box. Then you are guaranteed to always have a personal doctor on call c",)
Alot of this info works well with Enlisted to. Quite a similar game, World war 2 the soldier type etc but with a healthy dash of War thunders Vehicles added. :-)
What you said at 8:00 is slightly incorrect, each player can resupply once PER ammo box. If the ammo box is refreshed or you go to a different ammo box you can refill ammo again within the same life.
"Unless you have stormtrooper aim you should have no trouble eliminating targets"

“I don’t mean the hammer in your pants”
Me: see buddy, people do notice you
Playing HLL makes you realize just how much of a force multiplier the M1 Garand was
I played with this guy yesterday, and it was my first match! Now watching his videos to hone my skills which is sick. Getting into this game has been so fun
Hey what's your name in game? Were we in the same Squad? Welcome to the game man!
@ I was necromaniac420, calender-aidan was commanding
Excellent! My ingame tag is Druid...was fun being part of this. My comment in vid at 9.35 is my new clan meme lol
Yes!!! I was hoping you would end up seeing the video lol. I was scrubbing through gameplay footage while editing and as soon as I heard you say "Now we have no spawns...bollocks!" I knew exactly where to stick that clip lol. Epic that it's become the clan meme too!
@@SoulSniperYT Nice 1, good Sir ;p
We'll have to squad up sometime
Just so I can hear that accent again :)
@@SoulSniperYT Hehe!
I’m new to the game and this helped me a ton
Good to hear and welcome to HLL!
Just watching this video after getting HLL last night and honestly it’s a handy video for someone who’s new to the game 😁
That was the goal when I made it! I've got role guides from Rifleman all the way up to Commander, so feel free to come on back to the channel when you're ready to step up to another role. Plenty of other general HLL guides here as well. Enjoy!
Re-downloading HLL after a year off, I’m super rusty so this helps! Great vid
New to HLL. The ping sound when you get a head shot is so satisfying. Love this game.
It's ear candy for sure!
These videos help a lot. Appreciate the upload
Awesome to hear it, thanks for watching!
I started this game 2 weeks ago and when I see a fellow fresh blueberry I always tell them to look you up, watched all of them the day before my first game and I hit the ground running
Being patient can make a huge difference.
Just got the game and been learning how to play. Loved the video thanks!
Thanks for watching bud! Glad they're helpful!
As someone who got this game on the free Epic Games day this playlist is going to be a godsend ! Thank you sir
Every new player needs to watch this video it should be built into the game great video!!
Thank you!
I love that you reference to other helpful vids, thanks alot! 👍
I wish suppression mechanics were implemented in more games.
I still have my grandpas M1 Carbine from WWII. It’s a rad gun.
Wow!!!
As a new player to Hell Let Loose thanks to game pass these guides are appreciated. Thanks for the content
I subscribed when he made the hammer joke
My man!
Nice video as always 👍, looking forward for the tank class guide
So...here's the thing. I'm not a tanker! But I do have some folks in the discord who are excellent tankers, so with some collaboration I could probably make a pretty great tank guide!
The explosive ammo box also resupplies smoke grenades I am fairly certain? Great video (again) Soul!
I believe so, yes. And the PTRS-41 (Soviet AT rifle) is actually resupplied using the small arms ammo box, which I forgot to mention in the video as well.
I have been waiting for weeks for this video. :D
I hope it was worth the wait!
Discarding ammo half full doesnt deplete ammo. Am I the only one that didnt know this?
I'm sure others didn't know, that's why I mention it!
Same, game changer info there. Thanks soulsniper
Thanks for watchin'
@@SoulSniperYT yes i play ROBLOX shooter games and i always reload while in close queaters but now i don't reload until I finish the mag
this really really useful to know for a person like me who hasn't even launched the game thank you !!!!
Love these videos helped me alot!
Thanks for watching! Glad to hear the content is helpful
Supply Truck on its way!
You're my boy Blue!
Thanks man. Weapon of choice for me, is the MP 44. I ground out the assault class to the lvl 4 load out with the satchel. Did the same with engineer class, and the AT class. And yes I play support.
THANK YOU FIR YOUR WHOLE CHANNEL I LOVE YOU
Thanks for watching!
Very informative! See you on the field!
SoulSniper, "Unless you have storm trooper aim" .... why you got to call me out like that.
On a PS5 controller - I got that storm trooper aim. I just get so excited.
Dude I had so much trouble with my rifle skills I recently got into this game and when it came to bullet drop and distancing but then he explained it so good and in depth I actually started doing better loving all these videos I'm binge watching them and rewatching them when I have spare time
Medic Tip: Call out for riflemen when you're low on ammo!
The m1 Garand fires
.30-06 Springfield (7.62×63mm)
The Gewehr 43 fires 7.92×57mm Mauser
good vid bubba
Thanks
This is pretty helpful, I'm just starting out.
Bro the BAR is my favourite weapon so far
Very helpful info for us new players. Thanks.
Glad to hear it! More to come.
SEVERELY underrated class to this day
Level 6 German rifleman kit is pretty dope. G43 + explosive ammo
@@SoulSniperYT incredibly useful and makes comp games interesting when all riflemen on both sides have semi autos against the US
"Reload between engagements"
No kidding. Might as well say "Remember to breathe and eat"
Doing a great job!
Hey thank you and thanks for watching!
Thank you sirr
Thanks for watching!
Thank you my guy
Thanks for watching!
excellent content mate!!
Thanks man!
Outstanding! 🧸
Great work 🤟
Just bought this game, and currently installing. Reminds me alot of Red Orchestra, if it's similar I'll have a lot of fun
When SoulSniper said "Dont mind me, just saving your ass"😂
If you’re a new player as well, take your time hold and angle and wait this game is an endurance test if you keep running around getting one shotted you’ll get aggravated quick and watch where people shoot. You might be in an angle where you can do some damage for you comrades, but take your time and wait and hold and they will funnel in to you trust me
Great video bro!
i'll throw in my to cents:
M1 Carbine lets you aim faster.
“Hell let’s loose gets it right” *proceeds to show proper bullet work😂
What you said at 8:00 is slightly incorrect, each player can resupply once PER ammo box. If the ammo box is refreshed or you go to a different ammo box you can refill ammo again within the same life.
Yes, correct. Thank you!
When I first zoomed ads down sights of the Garand I just laughed ...I'm not even that much of a gun nerd but "Ok That's Not Right" was my only thought
Lol yea most games get it wrong for the sake of gameplay. The Thompson is even worse!
Good intro lol we all had that thought
The M1 rifle and M1 carbine use different-sized .30 caliber ammunition, its not a smaller bullet
Oh ok, I was mistaken then. Thanks for letting me know!
Really enjoy the content
Very new to this game with 15 hours so far but have not got any do after games at all , any load out , playing objective and getting kills
the amount of times i underhanded a grenade just for it to bounce back on the lower corner of a wall/window is too damn high 😅
Enjoyed your work
Thanks man! More on the way.
Great tut!
Thanks for watching!
