I just knew that Koreans are very particular in looks. For us,we don't even budge about others appearance bcz I guess we're not into looking some kind of beauty standard. Koreans are cool though, the dramas are cool. but,at some point,I guess people need to be chill about looks. God created all of us with our own uniqueness.

Unpaid overtime is super common in Malaysia. Normally, only public sector, GLC and some international company don't require you to do overtime but most private sector, especially businesses run by Chinese/Japanese, you are expected to do unpaid overtime.

It's discretionary to each company and how their policy is set. Legally, of course, they do need to adhere to the minimum requirements set by labour law (always good to grab the latest edition from the bookstore as reference when seeking understanding from the HR). It is stated in labour law that there is a max wage limit for OT claims.
From my experience, small/medium locally run businesses will pay OT although you will need to keep it in check in case they "forget" to pay you OT, if you know what i mean.

My department only have monthly birthday lunch gathering and anual outing. This already gives me headaches to attend. But apparently work based-social gathering is a thing in korea. Major respect to people can keep up with working culture like that, cause i only wanna unwind by myself after long day work.
But i guess issa good thing also, you can get to know ur colleague after work but not be able to say no is kinda set back too. There are pros and cons in everything.

Well lucky u, u got into a good company. I've worked in alot of different companies. There's still company that don't pay for "overtime". It depends on the boss itself. About doing beyond ur job scope, Malaysia is really doing this. For example, if u work as a graphic designer.. u need to know how to edit videos, photography, animation etc. Like u we're paid for 1 position but needed to do multiple task. So they can cut their budget on staff. Especially during this pandemic. There's certain professional job are underpaid. That's a bitter Truth of Malaysia haha. It's not all company do like this, but mostly it came from a bit medium to small size company.

I kind of feel frustrated when I watch Korean drama where they shows these company dinners scene, like you need to dress up in formal clothes, and it is straight away after you clock out from work. For us, we do have company dinners but much more casual (if it is a small company dinners, for big events just dress according to the dress code given by organizer).
We clock out at 5/6 pm, and just go the designated destination at 8/8.30 pm chosen by senior employee. Usually mamak restaurant or tomyum restaurant were the most preferred location. We just wear hoodie or shirt and loose pants, or anything that is comfortable, since we are just there to socialize and not discussing about work.
Yeah... it will be nice if you guys could experience something like this too..

In Malaysia 🇲🇾, we do overtime to earn extra money, nothing else and according to the law, the maximum overtime you can do per day is 2 hours. You can't do it regularly because the human labor auditor will come and check with your company. If they found out that many associates working overtime, the human labor will sue the company for forcing civilians to overwork.
Second, Malaysian don't care about fashion that much when they work. What important for them is your work performance and your attitude in the company. I've seen many females colleagues who did not wear makeup on daily basis, except for meeting with an important client, the company annual dinner. If they have a date, they wear make-up after work hours.
